Called in today for a Big breakfast while the wife was busy. What a cracking Café/Diner. I wanted a seat by a window but it was reserved due to them being busy. I explained I wasn't staying long so they allowed me to sit there. Nice view of the planes taking off and arriving. My food was nice and arrived promptly. You can see the chef's cooking in the back nice and tidy kitchen. Great work staff keep up the good work. If I lived closer I would come here every weekend.

Fantastic and unique dining experience. Located adjacent to the end of a runway at Hawarden Airport, next door to the Airbus factory, this is a venue with a difference. Great views of aircraft, and great food served by friendly, accommodating staff. Had a fantastic breakfast here, and all of us (four in the group) thought it was tremendous. There's outside seating too, which would have been great on a better day. Highly recommended..

Lovely food, slightly expensive but would expect it being a cafe. Great to watch the planes take off and land. We went on a day the Red Arrows were there which was pleasant suprise so stayed to watch them take off and land. Good outdoor seating and play area.

Fantastic place, we rang ahead and booked a table, food was absolutely outstanding and great value for money. We got to see a few planes take off and land which was also great. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning, thank you.

Fantastic diner located inside Hawarden Airport. A perfect location for whale watching - the Airbus Beluga land here on a nearly daily basis. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. The service is always friendly. What tops this place off is how plane spotting friendly it is. They have created the Beluga Bank to allow you to view the magnificent aircraft without the fence getting in the way. Definitely worth a visit if you’re a plane spotting nerd like me!

1st time at Chocks Away Cafe. Clean amazing views of runway, just a pity the Beluga wasn't flying that day. Grandson loved running round in outside area.

Can't fault it really.. in any way Loads of tables when arrived with reservations on them, however in asking they where free for an hour or so, we're welcome to sit for a brew and breakfast as long as we didn't linger Nice seats by the window watching the small planes land and take off, nice view of Clywidian range with soviet era migs in the foreground We where there in early January so will be interesting to go back in the summer to see if the beluga is being tested

Great food at very reasonable prices. Staff are lovely. Free car park on-site. Fantastic play area for the kids with a fantastic view of CEG where you can see the Airbus Beluga planes come in.

I met my dad here as he is a keen aviation enthusiast! The cakes they had to offer were innovative and the breakfasts looked wholesome. We only had a slice of cake and coffee while we watched planes land and went for a wonder around the remains of some Russian crafts. Lots of the cakes looked like they were ordered from Costco but still everyone enjoyed their carrot and red velvet . I would recommend this as a good meetup place especially for those that appreciate aircrafts

Good breakfast within an airfield with views of planes departing and arriving. Lovely kids play area and open space too if you want at all at very affordable and reasonable prices. Love it so much

Spot on, where else can you get a lovely big breakfast served by friendly people for under a tenner? All while watching a Beluga take off and land in the distance. We flew in to the airport 🛫 in our own small planes and following the fantastic ATC to then be treated to a tasty hot breakfast was a perfect end to the flight ✈️ 😋 👌 Certainly be back again for some more.

Friendly welcome. Massive choice of food. Display was very tempting. We had poached eggs with crispy bacon on avacado toast with roasted tomatoes. Delicious! Only minor comment is that the tomatoes were cold & they would have been nicer hot. But it didn't stop me enjoying my breakfast. Can't wait to come again!

The food was absolutely delicious & even the children’s meal was fabulous, big portions & made for you there & then. Sat outside to watch the planes with a lovely icecream aswell, amazing place. Will be telling more people & visiting again!

Great full English breakfast, Plenty on the plate, sausages are delicious, breakfast comes with a cup of tea or coffee. Will definitely come again, please let costumes to pick the table, otherwise the panoramic windows are not an attraction as it should be in airport café. The place needs a bit of character, maybe old plane propellers on the walls, booths in the shape of the planes, or fake plane models to hang from the ceilings or make ceilings darker and large windows will provide enough light into the room to make the place a bit more cosy.

Lovely little diner, tucked away on an air base. Views of the air crafts taking off and landing from the seating area. Food was very nice and the portions were huge. It closes in the afternoon so isnt open for teatime, which is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars.

What a great cafe , middle of an industrial estate true, but also an airport with lots of inside and outside space, kid and dog friendly too,and interesting things scattered about to keep anybody engaged. As for the food and service, absolutely delicious and very friendly.

I took two of children here for breakfast. The food was great. We were all well satisfied. Good to see the aircraft too; although we didn’t get to see any take off or land while we were there…

What's happened to this place? We visited at 9.30am and the toilets were filthy. You would expect this at the end of the day. If the toilets are dirty I'd hate to think what the kitchen was like. A waitress had exceptionally long false nails, hair not tied back and the silly buckets with cutlery in that were not washed in between use, Heinz ketchup bottles refilled with cheap ketchup. The bottles were that old the labels were only just visible. We had bacon and sausage toasties and arrived at lightening speed so obviously had not been cooked fresh. Maybe the Environmental Health should have their lunch here.

Great stop of for brunch. Quick, friendly and tasty food. Great choice of cakes 😋. Unusual setting within the airfield. At the security gate you give your name and they record you reg. Follow the signs around to the cafe. There's a large car park just beyond the cafe. Outdoor seating area and small childrens play area. Highly recommend.

A very interesting and unique place where you can have a coffee or a snack or breakfast while watching airplanes take off and land. There are also some interesting planes from the past parked near

I visited here on a wet Wednesday morning in October! It's brilliant! The staff are welcoming and the food is well priced and delicious. Great views out of the windows and a large play area for kids (and planespotters!) that has an Antonov 2 and a Mig-23 in!! Where else can you find that in the UK! I was also lucky enough to see a Beluga XL depart. All-in-all... well worth the detour from Chester!

Chocks away is a very busy diner, especially when the Red Arrows are landing. Despite this, the food was lovely and the service fantastic, highly recommended.

Excellent viewing area if you're after that famous big boy Airbus 🐋 food was super tasty, freshly made, coffee was delicious, everyone welcomes you with a big and friendly smile, it was our first time visiting and we already felt like we've been there many times before! Nice and chilled atmosphere!

Lovely place. Was my 1st time going. Was with my little boy. Lovely food. Playground could do with being a bit safer though as caught my son with a board with nails in it. Would go again but maybe not by the park.

Popped in today after a few friends recommendations, very busy on arrival, staff apologised for us waiting for a few minutes to be seated, possibly book next time might be better, we chose the Steak and Ale Pie, didn't realise how big the portions were, absolutely stuffed one of the best pie's I've had, would recommend to anybody

Absolutely awesome food! Highly recommend! And certainly we'll get back there soon.

Very unusual place to eat. It's on the end of the runway which serves Aerospace so if you book a seat by the window you can see the wonderful Belugas take off and land. Very nice breakfast and milky coffee, not the greatest coffee but hot and milky. Would recommend booking a table as it gets busy. There's also a vegan menu. See

Looking for a top notch breakfast in Chester? Look no further than this place! Unbelievable quality for value munch! Top quality food produced on top of a great view of the airport with planes coming and going all day long, they even have a play area for the kids! Skies the limit for these guys right at the end of a live take off and landing runway 7 days a week!! You will not be disappointed!

Great place to head to on a motorcycle, family with children or just if you are a plane or helicopter enthusiast. Great view from the diner and on a busy weekend there is lots to see. Last time I was there the airfield was recieving landing requests very frequently which is testement to the running of the airfield and what the facility has to offer on the ground. Highly recommended!

Fabulous quality food. The cooked breakfasts are very popular. A lot of customers, always quite busy, which is a great indicator of how good somewhere is. It's wise to book ahead for a table if you can. Plenty available though including outside benches. From outside there's a good view of aircraft coming and going, small light planes, helicopters, and of course Belugas. There are some static display planes there too now, an old Antonov etc. Great views of the runway from the Beluga Bank, a small raised section of grass. It would look even better if extended. There's a play park for the kids. Disabled accessibility is all in place. And the food and drinks, all excellent. Highly recommended.
