I recall this place being much better, sadly, filled with shelves of candles of all shapes and sizes. Run down now with poor quality products being sold. Half of the place was given up to Christmas clearance items (I was there in April). Made some candles, which was fun if a little short for the price we paid. But we enjoyed it. Cafe was alright and the staff were all lovely. Great views too. But it could be so much better. Maybe they should focus on selling local crafts and foods rather than cheap tat.

It is so sad to hear that the candle workshop is closing down after all those years, with amazing activities for children and adults, as well as its lovely candles and other products they had on sale to offer.

This place used to be great ....Not so much now. It is June and they still have the sale stuff out from Christmas! The shelves and glassware were very dusty. The quality of items you can buy has gone right down. On the plus side the staff are wonderful. The cafe serves beautiful food which is just as well as this is were most of us ended up for our visit there by coach. This place has so much potential but, from the shop side they have gotten too complacent. We had money to spend but were put off by the quality and lack of cleanliness of the items on display.

Not busy, which was a surprise for us. Great to bring kids to the place where we used go as a kids. We all painted sculptures, made our own badges and obviously candles. Welcoming, friendly, helpful staff. Great food as well. Great day out.

First visit here and I wasn't too sure what to expect. Essentially this is a very large gift shop with the option to make a few crafts, which is great for the kiddies. The shop is over several floors, with stairs to access upstairs (I couldn't find a lift) so some people in our party couldn't access that area. Gentle slope going downstairs to the Christmas section and restaurant. The food and drink on offer were very reasonably priced and tasty and the views outside were stunning. The playground was fenced off and is in desperate need of repair/replacement.

We visited Cheshire Workshops yesterday to make some candles and have some lunch. The cafe was nice a little basic and our table wasn't very clean but the food was good and the staff were lovely. Afterwards did the candle workshop, I was expecting an activity that would last 30 mins to an hour but it was much quicker than that but still enjoyable. Some nice bits in the gift shop and they have cute dogs!😂

Lovely place, not a bad price for 3 activities and the kids enjoyed it aswell as us adults. I'd say the paints for the candle holders could be better as they don't really dry and peel a lot, but the candle making is a really lovely to do, colours could be a little brighter and labelled but again for a nice afternoon for a few hours lovely, activity to do. Nice gift shops of site too.

Good fun making a candle here, staff were nice and friendly. We would have preferred to twist and cut the candles at the end, which was disappointing when we couldn't. Staff did this. Price can add up quickly if you do a few things and have several people in your party. (Up to £18 each)

A lovely place. Didn't know you had to book to make a candle so the time they offered was not convenient for us. Will re visit though and book. Had a lovely lunch. The 2 members of staff in the cafe were brilliant and very hard working. But really needed more help. Long queues made some people stressed.

It's OK there's some crafts for the kids, badge making ceramic painting, and of course you can make a candle. There's a cafe I only had a coffee. It was ok. There is a shop with a lot signs badges decorations candles etc.

There was nobody there when we went, so it was a 1:1 session. Which was brilliant, however the staff member left when the kids were painting for her lunch and we weren’t sure what to do next as nobody was around. The shop is full of 90s nostalgia.

Was ok, kids had fun painting the models and doing the badges etc but really badly organised. Staff not overly keen on explaining anything at all so we had to ask a LOT of questions throughout. We Turned up and didn’t know you had to book. We had to wait over an hour for the candle making but you could go do the other activities in the meantime… great! Although that area was packed and we had to wait for a spare table. I knew there was a cafe so was hoping for food until it quietened down but wasn’t told the cafe wasn’t serving hot food until after we’d paid on entry and gotten to the cafe itself. Hot drinks and cake only (on which there were on 2 slices on the shelf left). The young guy running the candle making though explained everything and was great until we came back to collect. We stood and waited and he just watched us then I had to ask “do we just help ourselves?” And he just simply nodded. The lady running the crafts upstairs looked like she was annoyed with everyone and didn’t look happy to engage with any children. My son with ADHD and Tourette’s found this incredibly difficult as he asked if could mix paint and she begrudgingly chucked a blank paint pot on the table.L without speaking. He found this really rude to say he’s 11. Also there was a cockroach in the floor near the entrance/exit and the lady taking the bookings tried to pass it off a a plastic toy one but my sons showed me that it was moving about! I will say though that what you pay for is absolutely amazing and it passes a few hours in which the kids can get messy and enjoy some fun crafting. Shop is a bit run down but Also fab christmas selection in August! Just needs a bit of explaining and service with a smile costs nothing!

Great place to try some crafts with the kids during the holidays including candle making. Lunch was tasty and reasonably priced and they catered for our car club with no issues. It's not possible to visit and not try the ice-cream, this alone was worth the ride out. Staff were very friendly and helpful
