Excellent service very friendly, had the Sunday roast very good, the beef was beautifull.

We had Canadian relatives staying for a few days. First meal out was 'menu formula food' - ok but far from cheap and not particularly good value. The pub had been fully modernised according to brewery policy, making it just like all other formula pubs in the chain. The external facilities, however, were excellent. Identifying the manager was impossible. The Horseshoe Inn belongs to the same brewery, but was the exact opposite. Our experience was brilliant! Greeted by the most friendly and helpful lady tenant (presumably), who found us a table for 6 in a small pub with great atmosphere! Fabulous home cooked food with ingredients sourced by the landlady and cooked from scratch was presented. The only complaint was the steak, which was a bit overcooked. However, give me a proper pub any time!

This is a great location not far from Mow-Cop, great parking and plenty of outside sitting ( when the weather improves ) there is a good choice of pub food and drink. Service is second to none, give it a try and then burn off those calories with a country side walk

We have just come back from a meal there for my grandsons 1st birthday. Absolutely fantastic food and the lady that served us was amazing. Really friendly and made us all feel so special x

Very friendly! The food was superb! We all left feeling very full and satisfied from a lovely afternoon!

We had a family party of 14 mostly adults. The sevice was quick and the food was delicious. Although the weather was changeable we had asked to be outside. We were placed under cover outside with overhead heaters it was sooo cosy. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend it to anyone with either a small or large party. Thanks to everyone there for a wonderful experience.

We have eaten here three times (two Sunday lunches and mid -week evening meal) in recent weeks, what a refreshing change from the formulaic pub carvery. The hosts are great and the food is too. A lovely traditional pub not many left like it these days. This is a credit to the couple who manage it, so well done to one and all staff. The beer is well kept absolutely spot on. I hope to return here many times in the future.

Stayed locally for 1 night and went here for our evening meal. Amazing food, staff really bubbly and friendly. Food was great, plenty of choice, good portion size.

Decent pub with very friendly and efficient owners and waiting team. Relatively small inside, good sized beer garden. Interior feels a bit dated. Food quantities are huge and decent pub grub.

Visted as a group and some changes to the preorders were made which was great although the food for vegan and vegetarians is extremely limited. Moderately priced food and for meat eaters a good menu.

As two couples we enjoyed a delicious meal. We were warmly greeted on our arrival by Mel and shown to our table. The meals were delicious and in particular, the steak pie and braised steak. Mel, who served us, was a ray of sunshine and very efficient. A credit to the restaurant. Will definitely return.

Had an AMAZING meal with perfect service. Thank you for making our friends birthday so lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch, huge portions, beautifully cooked and the prawn open sandwich was the best I've ever had. Can't wait to go back.

Called by chance for lunch. A lovely olde worlde pub staffed by very friendly and helpful people. Great atmosphere . Ample parking nearby. Set in a lovely country area, with canal nearby. There is plenty of indoor and outside seating and tables, with a lovely beer garden. Child and dog friendly with a play area for the kids to enjoy. The food is plentiful and well priced. Great selection of alcoholic and soft drinks available. There is at least one trad cask ale on the bar. Food is served lunch and evenings. A warm welcome is assured.

Went here one summer lunchtime and the food and service was great but alas not this evening. What a great disappointment. Obviously short staffed as the staff were running around like headless chickens and the fish in beer batter was more crispy batter than fish as the fish was so thin. The salmon was ok but the batter and chips were a big let down. I don’t do bad reviews but felt I had to this review….

Excellent pint and very friendly atmosphere. Kids play park is also an added bonus! Food also looked amazing! We will be returning very soon.

We have visited 3 times recently, this is a truly brilliant Robinsons pub. Really friendly service, good beer, good food with generous portions (quality traditional grub) and a great garden with play area. We'll be back again soon!

Called in for drinks with friends after a day’s walking. The owners were so welcoming and friendly. The beer garden is well laid out and suitable for all weathers. The ‘pig sty’ dining rooms are amazing. Cafetière coffee and good beer. Wonderful!

This was my first ever visit here ,passed it a million times and always said " we'll try there next time " ,well we eventually did and what a gem of a place .Food was delicious, staff were lovely but the dizzy blonde was out of this world and all this in stunning surroundings who could ask for more .
