Place where raghavendra swamy did meditation. Lord anjaneya (Hanuman) with 5 faces can be seen here. Temple is at very Remote location without proper road. When visited in rainy season we experienced very bad journey as the road is totally damaged. Not sure why officials are not taking care of the temple in required way. If you visit during rain it will be a difficult drive.

This place is significant in Mantralaya pilgrimage. Shri Guru Raghavendra did tapasya here in the cave for 12 years. The god Anjaneya appeared to him in Panchamukhi form and Gururayaru sculpted the rough figure on the stone here. Darshan does not take more than 20 minutes even on busy days . Do offer some pooja like Panchamruta abhisheka or aarti. One needs to climb around 30 normal steps to reach the top. It is wheelchair friendly till half the distance. You can visit other nearby shrines too. Ample parking place available.

This place has seen phenomenal growth since the time I visited 5 years back but still upkeep and maintenance could be improved a lot. I know it’s the pilgrims who are equally responsible for cleanliness but again I don’t blame them as there is absolutely no enforcement by the temple authorities. Everyone is so busy in making money either be it temple priests, roadside vendors or the nearby shopkeepers, no one is bothered 😕 It pains to see such negligence and caring two hoots about the cleanliness despite so much push from the Governments

Swayambhu Hanuman temple 🛕 near to mantralaya and these are the near by temples. When you’re in mantralayam please do visit this place and bichale temple. You have ample parking 🅿️ space available and also there few outlets for having some food and refreshments.

A very old mesmerizing temple of Anjaneya. The rocks are in a very amusing arrangement. Don't miss the mahalakshmi temple that is behind this temple and takes 5 mins walk. Last 10 kms road is bad, you'll need 30 mins just for the last stretch. Parking is available. The steps in the temple are big making it difficult for the aged and people with knee problems to climb.

At a distance of 20 Kms from Mantralayam, Panchamukhi Anjaneya Temple is situated at Panchamukhi in Karnataka, on the other side of River Tungabhadra. Panchamukhi is said to be the place where Raghavendra Swamy has performed meditation for 12 years before settling in Mantralaya. This is an important pilgrimage site for devotees visiting Mantralayam. It is said that Panchamukha Anjaneya, Kolhapur Mahalakshmi, Lord Venkateswara and Lord Vishnu as Varaha appeared to Raghavendra Swamy at this location after his meditation. This famous five headed Anjaneya Temple is situated on a hillock and is very ancient. The idol of the Hanuman is believed to be self incarnated on a huge rock. This place attracts large crowd during special days and Hanuman Jayanthi. Several devotees who visit Mantralayam pay a visit to the Hanuman temple here. Few shops near the temple sell food & drinks. There is a huge rock formation on eastern side of the temple in the shape of a bed and pillow. Buses and private vehicles run regularly to this place from Mantralayam at affordable prices. Timings: 6 AM to 1 PM and 3 PM to 8 PM (Sun - Fri). 6 AM - 8 PM on Saturday.

Me and my in-laws family visited Panchamukhi temple recently after our darshan at Mantralaya. The road from the main Raichur road is bad with lot of broken road and potholes. It is best to go in an SUV or in a vehicle with decent ground clearance and not overloading with passengers. Temple surroundings offer good space for parking and it is free to park your vehicles (at least at the time of my visit). There doesn't seem to be a paid darshan so it is free for everyone and there is a small hike up the steps to reach Lord Anjaneya's temple rock. You will be graced with the rocks with imprints of the lord once you reach the top of your step climb. There are few scenaries around the temple to look about too. Overall it is a pleasant experience albeit the road not giving any relief.

Jai bajrangbali jai shree ram... It is one peaceful place, there are always people around it. The temple isn't much big but isn't small at all the whole temple is built over huge rocks. It is well known because the hanuman's face and body incarnated on stones.. and many other huge rocks around the temple which look real odd There are lots of monkeys around it nothing to worry they aren't troublesome. There are many shops around the temple..

Raghavendra Swami performed penance for 12 long years in a cave here. In appreciation of his Yoga, Lord Panchamukhi Pranadevaru, Kollahpura Mahalakshmi, Lord Venkateshwara of Tirupati and Kurmavathara gave him darshan. Then Raghavendra Swami left for Mantralaya where he entered into Samadhi. A temple, the Panchamukhi Anjaneyaswamy temple, was constructed on the spot where Raghavendra Swami performed penance.

Panchamukhi Sri Anjaneya Swamy Temple is on a hillock, 20 Kilometres away from Mantralayam and takes about 45 minutes. The Anjaneya here is a swayambu inscription on the rocky cave. Panchamukhi means five faces and Lord Sri Anjaneya or Hanuman here has five different faces, i.e., Hanuman, Hayagriva, Narasimha, Garuda and Varaha faces. Hanuman is an ardent devotee of Lord Sri Rama and is the symbol of power, energy, strength and knowledge and an epitome of true devotion and Brahmcharya.

Divine place. Must visit the place. Sit down and read Hanuman Chalisa. You will feel a different energy. Rayaru has blessed humanity to have a darshan. Place is full of monkeys. They might take fruits or prasadam from you. Just carry some extra to give them. Lots of shops to get puja items & water or food. Plenty car parking space is there.

The Panchamukhi Anjaneya Swamy (Panchamukhi) is in the cave where it's believed that in 16th century Sri Raghavendra Swamiji did meditation for 12 years after which Lord Hanuman appeared with 5 faces (hence the name Panchamukhi) – Hanuman, Narasimha, Garuda, Varaha & Hayagriva. It's a beautiful temple to visit, if someone is going to Mantralaya. It's approx 30 mins drive from Mantralaya. Roads are good to drive, even we get tumtum from Mantralaya. In the temple we get to see Anjaneya statue, which is in top of a small hill. It has 5 avatars, so it has got name as Panchamukhi. Just backside of the temple we find a Lakshmi temple within the caves.

Had been to this Divine place on a Saturday & took good 30 min for the Darshana . Temple management need to improve the queue system & there's a big scope to maintain cleanliness by public as well as temple trust in the surrounding vicinity.

Thanks and gratitude to my friend Krishna, who chartered my itinerary during my visit to Mantralayam, also highlighted the spiritual richness of the places around. Located 20 kms from Mantralayam, the Panchamukhi Anjaneya Temple in Karnataka is a significant pilgrimage site where Raghavendra Swamy meditated for 12 years before settling in Mantralaya. Legends say that here, Panchamukha Anjaneya, Kolhapur Mahalakshmi, Lord Venkateswara, and Lord Vishnu as Varaha appeared to him. The ancient temple, atop a hillock, houses a self-incarnated idol of Hanuman on a massive rock.

I recently had the privilege of visiting the Panchamukhi Anjaneya temple and I must say it was a truly remarkable experience. From the moment I stepped foot inside the temple premises, I was greeted with a sense of peace and tranquility that instantly put me at ease. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the main deity, Lord Hanuman, in his Panchamukhi form. The idol was magnificent and radiated an aura of immense power and strength. It was a humbling experience to witness the faithful devotees offering their prayers and seeking blessings from this revered deity. Overall, my visit to the Panchamukhi Anjaneya temple was an unforgettable one. I left with a renewed sense of faith and a heart full of gratitude. I would highly recommend this temple to anyone seeking a spiritual retreat or simply looking to experience the beauty and serenity that it offers.

Panchamukhi udbhava aanjaneya temple. After visiting Mantralaya people visit here too. It is on the rock, according to saints because of raghavendra swamiji prayer it developed on the rock. We need to climb the steps but its nice view. Beside so many stalls are there you can purchase. Parking is there but in Rainey season its difficult.

Very beautiful place, sadly people have littered plastic bags and glasses nearby which was very hurtful. Its almost 20kms from Mantralayam but its worth the visit as the view nearby and the stone structures were worth to stop by.

  • 5/5 Sharath Y. 1 year ago on Google
Visited this temple while stayed at Mantralayam. This place is really Magical as we can see a fusion of culture and languages among telugu and kannadigas. this is due to the location of the temple. It is located on other side of Tungabadra river where the opposite side is mantralayam which is in Andhra. The history of temple is written on rocks of temple which is quiet acknowledging about the connection of this temple with Shri Raghavendra swamy. The natural rock formations near this temple are significant to watch. Some must know points: - This village is very deep from main road( around 10km) where the road is pathetic. - There is no good food facilities available at temple. So A long time plan at temple is not recommendable.

Must visit place when we go to Mantralaya. It's a cave temple. It is said that Raghavendra Swami did meditation in this place for 12 years and Anjaneya(Hanuman) with 5 faces gives darshan. One can find Anjaneya's foot steps being worshipped in this temple. Update: The road to reach this temple from Mantralaya is under construction, hence lot of dust and muddy road. If not traveling by own car, please hire a cab if feasible. Jai Shree Ram🙏🏼

This is the place where Sri Raghavendra Swamy did penance and had Darshan of Panchamukhi Anjaneya Swamy and Lord SriBalaji. We can see huge rock which is bed and pillow of Sri Hanumanji. We can also see huge chappals of SriHanumanji, which is replaced after every few years, as they get worn off. In a walkable distance from here there is a gramadevatha temple. She is also called Mahalakshmi. We can see her with Shanku and Chakra.
