A small railway station with basic amenities. It's clean on the platform front but surprisingly it's the first Railway station in kerala I saw having trash on the tracks. I don't know why it's neglected so much. Even the whole 650m of platform didn't had a Dustbin, so no wonders why people throw plastics on the track. No digital information displays, No coach position indicators and the list goes on. This shouldn't have been the case considering most major trains on this route halts here. Disappointing.

Mavelikara rail link came into existence in 1958 when Ernakulam - Kottayam meter gauge railway line was extended to Kollam Junction. The railway line between Trivandrum Central and Ernakulam Junction via Kottayam was converted to broad gauge in 1976.Mavelikara railway station is the nearest rail station to pilgrimage places like Pandalam, Chettikulangara Devi Temple and Kandiyoor Sree Mahadeva Temple. Mavelikara railway station (Code: MVLK) is a railway station (NSG 5 Category) in Alappuzha District, Kerala and falls under the Thiruvananthapuram railway division of the Southern Railway Zone, Indian Railways

A small station, located between Chengannur Railway station ( nearest station for Shabari Mala Pilgrimage) and Kayamkulam Junction. Basic amenities are there. Neat and clean. No porter facility. If anybody is travelling with severe arthritis or who can't walk , the way to reach platform or getting outside the station one has to go through station end . Maximum passenger trains halt on platform 2 towards ernakulam/palaghat/towards north...and on platform 3 trains going towards south (trivandrum)... From here trivandrum is 2 to 2:30 hours journey, same is ernakulam/kochi ...both are nearest international airports... Nearest sea beach is approx 20 to 23 km... Within radius of 2 km hotels , hospitals everything is there. No food facilities available on station.

Apart from Railway station being about a Kilometre away from town, other transport services are near and accessible. Could use these to travel to neighbouring places. The town has decent hygiene for a Indian town, though toilet facilities for both gender are Nil

The railway station is at a remote area. No shops near by. You won't get any bus to the town easily. Autorickshaw will charge Rs.50 to the private bus stand as on 7 Jan 2022. The private bus stand is also not a crowded place. Night travel without any vehicle will be hard.

calm and quiet station ..with normal faclities like drinking water, toilets and coffeeshops ...public transport faciltes too far from here so travelers should be depended in auto rickshas and cabs

Less crowded, almost all SF trains stops here. Taxi available at door steps. One sbi ATM is also functioning. Rest rooms are locked up most of the time. Platform floor payment is too bad that we can't comfortably pull a trolly bag or we destroy the trolly wheels. No trains stops on platform No. 1. So passengers are always forced to cross the railway line to platform 2 or 3.
