Berizim Lake is second largest fresh water lake in Asia.. This lake is artificially made in 1860 to 1910, covers 77sq kilometres area.. It holds fresh water from rains. The whole area is core area for wildlife.. The water from is supplied to the Periyakulam Town.. Starting point for this lake is from morning Point.. Forest dept operates, 90 minutes trip, thrice in a day.. Only 25 private vehicles are allowed in a day with permission and a fee. On Tuesday, no private vehicles are allowed... Must visit place in Kodaikanal.. 😊 very interesting places are on the way..

Beautiful place. Maintained nicely by govt authorities. However, no washroom facilities. A pass is required to visit this place and this is the last place you can visit on this road. Collect it from district forest office near Hotel Tamilnadu- Indian oil petrol pump. Pass can only be collected during 8:30-9:30am.

This place is very awesome and this is the world's second largest pure water lake and it is man made lake. It has more medicinal powers because it is crossing from many medicinal plants and herbs and this is the only fresh water source for the nearby villages. Boating is not allowed here because it will spoil the purity of water and it is very nice to visit here. It will be the great entertainment place with your family and kids.
