Very organized, all services are catered via token system and there are 15 counters to serve the customers in postal service, savings bank account, NSC, register posts, stamps etc., Lot of seating space is available inside the post office. Parking is not problem because there is lot of parking space for two wheelers and four wheelers inside the GPO campus. Very friendly staff, they dont get angry or behave rudely even if you ask them the same question muktiple times. Also there is a beautiful rose garden inside the GPO campus. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR ALL POSTAL SERVICES 👍👍👍

It's a very large post office post office with a lot of staffs working here. It is a six floor building with many facility. Speed post hub, parcel hub and general booking and stamp centre is there at different floors. U can book articles for foreign also there is a special foreign parcel centre where u can book your article with subject to some checks. Surroundings of the office is very beautiful. There is a small temple also there in the campus...

The behaviour of the officers working here is so bad.Very bad experience and officers with no humanity! Without even considering we are ladies and coming from far distance to do courier after 6pm, they made us to go through difficult situation to carry the luggages all the way here and there in the entire premises. And finally no result!!

Went there to buy some stamps and post cards it was pretty inexpensive. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is enough space for parking, so it's not a problem at all.

THE most beautiful General Post Office surrounded with a lovely garden and hosted in a magnificent building. It is located in the northern corner of Queen's Road and very nearby to Cubbon Park Metro Station. I went there to renew my Philately subscription. The staff are very courteous and helpful. Multiple services are provided and the open hours are also wide.

There is a token system to avoid confusion and crowding. Help desk is there and even the security guard is also helpful. All the department has proper boards to identify which service is available where. They have banking, postage and parcel service from GPO. Even bill payments of utilities, insurance services, aadhar, passport and probably some more. Overall I felt as if I had been to a place where almost all the services are offered. Felt proud that how our Bharat has progressed.

Bengaluru GPO was established in 1862 and the current building was built after British-era in 1985. The new building was inaugurated by the then Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi. The front side of the magnificent stone building has a rose garden and fountain with colourful fishes, greenery all around, very cool atmosphere and spacious hallways.... Wonderful and dedicated staff to cater our postal needs. Philately section is with Wonderful service-oriented staff who understands our Philately requirements. Multiple services are available. As far as I have seen, this is the best post office in the world. Building and entrance is grand. Very enjoyable. You don't have to go there for send something to someone or for aadhar update. You can go there to visit, experience and appreciate the beauty of the building and around. You can also do a little bit of shopping as well. Shop is on the right side when you enter. Stamp collections and books are available for buying. I really liked a well designed stamp. Pictures attached.

Unlike many other Post Offices in Bangalore, work gets done faster and without much hassle here. One particular staff - Manjushree - went out of her way to try and resolve our issue despite the server being too slow (expected in each and every post office in this country). Apart from the good service, this place within the heart of the city offers a great experience. Very cool atmosphere even in the middle of summer, spacious hallways, free & ample parking space, a beautiful rose garden which is a delight to nature lovers, a cool though a bit congested basement, and enough staff to cater to the needs of anyone who comes (the avg. wait time is something like 5 minutes on a very busy and crowded day, while it is anywhere between 15 to 45 minutes in other places). Overall a great experience for someone who goes without any expectations! Note: If you are travelling (by bike or car) from Nrupatunga Road/Maharani College/ Majestic/ Vidhana Soudha, and following the route in Google Map, you may be misled. The route is not updated in Maps as there’s a restricted one-way just 100 metres before the main gate to the GPO.

Quality of service has degraded systematically over a period of time. I hav3 been going here for past two decades. People at the counters are like British “clerks” everything needs approval from person sitting behind, this colonial culture needs to change with the carrion computers and audit trail facility, empower people at the counters and make them accountable. People sitting behind have huge designations but doing lower than glorified clerical signature work.

LOST MISSING SOME OF MY PRODUCTS WHAT I PACKED!!! I am from Bangalore on verge of loosing the Two Product out of what I have packed that is (Jacket and Slipper)sent by india post. This is really a frustrating and very annoying experience for me with India Post,they have packed in front of me my Box ,they asked me to get money ,I wasn't having cash at that movement so they asked me get it from the ATM ,I left my parcel there and went to get the money ,I really don't know how , when my products were taken out ..I waited for 16 days to reach it to my place but after reaching ,there was not having two things in side the box. Now I starting to think these India Post people are not trustworthy anymore. The interesting thing is, they did it so well packing that there are no marks of tampering in the box. So please don't send anything through India Post Bangalore branch... Its really disappointing and please return my worthy products.Expecting response ASAP. If something needful not happen tk me .....I'll cross my level. 😡😡🤬🤬🤬 Cheater India Post!!

Good service. If you want to parcel something to your hometown, you can come here. The rates are cheaper compared to private courier services. 1. You can send household items. Don't keep sharp items or electronics. 2. You can pack your luggage or go to them and they'll pack it for you. They'll charge some amount. (Around 150 for 1.5*.1.5*1.5 ft. Around 250 for 2.5*2.5*2.5 ft) 3. If you are taking your own carton and packing it yourself, please ensure that carton is plain on all sides. If there's something written anywhere in the carton, please cover it paper and tape the entire thing. 4. Rates may vary. Normal rate is around 40 per KG for a normal post with 7 day delivery. 150 per kg for speedpost.

The UPI payment system has been disabled. It's been that way for the last month. Customers used to paying online have to run around for exact loose change. Or forego some amount. Unbelievable that a public utility under the Union government is so backward.

I went for to book a speed post to kashmir and the counter staff explained me very well about the various products launched for public. A very lively atmosphere with garden in front of GPO. I am very thankful to all staffs of BENGALURU GPO.

The post office is very beautiful. Several services are available here. I visited this post office to purchase philatelic stamps and special covers and I got special covers which I needed. Services are awesome. Parking area is available for public and the official posted here helped me in parking my vehicle which you cannot expect in Govt offices. My sincere thanks to the administration.

Staffs are very intelligent, rank holders, but they will be busy. Customers have been provided right to consult and meet any staffs and higher officers. Very cooperative, good place to spend time, well maintained. Remember to tie up with GPO if you have any business, they have customise service and products which will help your business to grow.

A prominent landmark of Bengaluru, this Government building is 560001 :) the first PIN (Postal Index Number) of Bengaluru! Located close to Cubbon park and Vidhan Soudha, this head Post office has all the facilities that one needs from a Postal service. After passing the main gate, take the path to the right to reach main GPO building else you will go straight to the vehicle parking section of GPO employees, loading docks, National Sorting Hub, cafeteria etc.. As you approach the entrance, you get a feeling of entering a historical British era building. Nowadays, even BBMP or other offices do not have this type of Grandeur or spacious offices. Opposite to GPO entrance is a beautiful Rose garden.. As you enter the GPO, you see a single long section partitioned by various counters manned by employees offering different services - Banking, Speed Post, International post, Philately, etc. They have a separate counter for Philately (extreme right end) where Commemorative Stamps, Miniature Sheets for collectors are sold. There is also a Philately Shoppe counter (extreme left end) where special post cards, catalogues and showcase pieces are sold. Staff are friendly and helpful. Please note : Being a government organization, they accept cash only payments! not even BHIM UPI! For specific services, I didnt have sufficient cash and was a bit frustrated that they dont have card swiping facility especially since these are times when COVID-19 virus is still prevalent and cash is least preferred mode of payment. Fortunately, one of the staff informed me about an ATM at the front gate and had to walk back to this ATM and got money from here. Being a Head Post Office, facilities offered could be modernized - examples would be having Government's BHIM/UPI digital payment options, Electronic Help kiosks, or having atleast the ATM inside the office rather than at main gate especially when city of Bengaluru is a Software & Technology Pioneer. Parking for Visitors is free ( lots of space to park bikes and cars). Timings 10AM - 5PM, closed on Sundays & Government holiday Holidays Update: Dec 2023 For philatelists ( Philately - hobby of stamp collecting), whenever we go to Philately counter to get recently issuedCommomerative stamps or Postal covers, they are not available! that too being Main GPO in Karnataka state. Many times, have heard stock is available only for people who have philately account. Request Philatelic Bureau to keep atleast new Commomerative stamps in stock. Karnpex will be held at Shree Kanteerva Stadium here in Bangalore for 3 days from 5th to 8th Jan 2024. We can see great collections from Philatelists from different states. Children can be inspired to start their own collection which will help in general knowledge(History, Science, Military instititions Personalities, Wildlife, Medical, Religion etc.)as a hobby. Sometimes, a stamp in such collections can become a valuable collector item.. Encourage all to attend this exhibition.

Horrible Service By india post my article was reached Bangalore on 3 April 2022 Till 10 th April Article was not Delivered and no response from customer care and GPO. Tracking details are not updated Seriously the staffs who works in postal are Not customer oriented Worst service, too much delay in Delivery, For Name sake they Kept as Speed post, I don't know whether they deliver the Article by 4 wheeler Or Cycle. Worst and Circle Inspectors are also worst no respond to customer queries . These people who work in the Government organization are working without honesty at work. Seriously worst. I strongly recommend kindly Don't Keep trust on Indian post and Send Us the Documents through Indian post.

Decent parking space available. Staff is very slow. They do only one task and that too as per token system. If you give them more than one task, they will start attending another customer. Typical govt office as one would expect. Waste of having accounts here, everything has to be accessed offline. Had sent a post couple of years back, that reached the recipient properly so one extra star for that.

General Post office: Doling out yeoman service ........... This magnificent building was built in 1985, and was inaugurated by the than Prime minister, Mr. Rajiv Gandhi. It's very spacious, elegant building appealing to one and all, green cover in plenty, rose garden, flowering plants, huge trees and a fountain ⛲ and more, beautiful stairs leading to the counters, sign boards put up. The service given to the customers is of a very high standard and people flock in large numbers, since it is located very near to Vidhana Soudha, Raj Bhavan, Metro and is easily accessible. The staff are friendly and accommodate you. Multiple services are at ur disposal, philatelic bureau, postal life insurance, Post Shoppee, Postal service, Savings bank account, NSC, Register posts, Stamps, Speed posts, Adhaar updates and more. The authorities have a token system which is highly appreciable since it's easy and not a bother for the customers. Overall this place is a one stop Shoppee for post related and other services in one go............ It's a nice experience to come here. Once u r done with ur work, one can jus see around . It's a nice feel which can be felt only if someone goes physically to GPO and explore.

Staff at the GPO are very helpful. Secondly it is most convenient since we can book our documents and parcels until late in the evening up to 7.30 PM. And speed posts can be booked round the clock which is a great convenience. There is a special counter in the sorting office which works when the main office closes by 7.30 PM and is open till the main counter opens the next morning.

Philately - No interest shown to promote philately and picture postcards. And this is our main post office in Bangalore . Staff are least interested and want their day to be over. It’s sad to see such a great hobby suffer at these peoples hands . This hobby has so much potential but unfortunately zero interest shown . Very disappointed by their service and will hope and pray they put someone who is interested..

Employees are better than what it used to be a few years back. The person that helped me, was calm, patient and explained step by step all that had to be done and was also supportive. Will update when my courier reaches the destination.
