Ok so we were excited to experience this place for our anniversary. Sadly we was highly disappointed. 1st we were shoved in a corner that wasn't comfortable especially with me being 8 months pregnant, and when I asked the hostess can we have another seat placement she just looked at me as if I spoke another language. The service was subpar. It was too many times during our meal the waiter didn't show back up for long periods and we were left waiting looking crazy. The food was ok, steak was great the bearnaise sauce was horrible, mushrooms were too tough to chew. I was hoping you at least get a complimentary dessert for our anniversary and we did not get anything except a meal that wasn't enjoyable. The ambiance was however nice. Would I be back...most likely not.

We chose to eat outside since it was a nice evening and I'm glad we did because my jeans and nice button up short leaved shirt would have made me feel extremely under dressed. The staff was very pleasant and personable. The food was great and it made the other steaks I had during my trip feel subpar. It is worth going out of your way to dine at Charlie Palmer Steak. It was not only wonderful food, but a dining experience. Per our waiter: when Congress is in session, it's very difficult to get a table. I highly recommend reservations.

The atmosphere and food are very nice. Staff are friendly. There is a happy hour from 4-6pm but should indicate clearly what is included. I ordered 2 cocktails and turned out both of them were charged at full price. Other than that everything was great.

REFUSED SERVICE, STAY AWAY. If I could give 0 stars I would. These folks do not deserve any star! While visiting DC and after an exhausting walk through the L.O.C. at 3:25 PM on Apr 27th we (my wife and two kids) stopped by this place to enjoy some succulent steaks on our way back to our parked car. The experience went something like this: As soon as we entered there is a reception desk to the right so we went to it. There were two females and one male behind this desk. The male asks me: "May I help you?" - ??? May I help you? what does that even mean? I'm at a restaurant we want to eat, right? Either way, I said (sounding a little confused by the questions I'm sure) "This is a restaurant right? We want to eat." he then asks me if I have a reservation, I said no. He typed something into the computer and then one of the females said, the restaurant is closed. My wife and I looked at each other and left. I took this picture on the way out to remind me to write about this on social media. WE WERE REFUSED SERVICE for some reason unknown to us. Could have been that we had a 8 month old and a 5 year old with us? I don't know the reason, but these folks in the front desk were insensitive, unprofessional and just down right rude. All done in a passive aggressive way so very covert. If you are a family save your time as you are probably not wanted here.

Great fillet mignon center steak! Awesome oyster, so fresh and I particularly love the sour red sauce that comes with it. I think it is tomato based. We asked for medium for the new york stripe but it was a bit too dry. Asparagus was splendid, perfectly cooked. Atmosphere was nice too.

Recently visited this gem of a restaurant and was thoroughly impressed. The ambiance was inviting and warm, perfect for a cozy dinner. What truly stood out was the exceptional service. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly, making our dining experience memorable. Every dish recommended was a hit, showcasing fresh ingredients and exquisite flavors. Definitely a must-visit for anyone looking for top-notch service and delightful cuisine. Lamar at the bar was very friendly and make the perfect martini

Prickly Pear Margarita made by Lamar was so refreshing. I would recommend if you’re looking for a new summer drink. The ingredients are fresh and Lamar is amazing! Also, the GM, Mike, was very accommodating. I came in between lunch and dinner and was able to sit at a bar table since the dinning room was closed and still order off the menu. Overall a great experience. I’ll definitely be back!

Lamar is truly the life of the party. He was our server while we stopped by for Dinner and he took such good care of us! The porterhouse steak was so buttery and easily melted in your mouth. Best steak I’ve ever had. We left back to our hotel practically rolling. The food and drinks were amazing already, but the top notch hospitality Lamar provided us with made everything taste all the better. Definitely stop by if you’re in town looking for a great experience.

We had a delightful anniversary lunch! Our server LK and the entire staff went out of our way to help us have a lovely afternoon. We enjoyed the sidewalk view, comfortable atmosphere, attentive service, and appreciated the surprise sparkler on our celebratory dessert (though the ash falling onto the cheesecake wasn’t the best; maybe place on a separate plate?) and we also appreciated how LK took some truly great photos of us before we left. Best of all - I was able to enjoy the food! Being gluten, dairy, AND egg-intolerant makes dining out tricky, but my salad entrée and coconut milk panna cotta dessert were absolutely outstanding. The attached parking garage to the building made it so we didn’t need to be outside on a 95° day, and it was easy to find our way around the building with some help from security. We can hardly wait to return. Thank you!!!

Very non-assuming venue within a minutes walk of the Capital. Good food vibes and aperitif menu. Glad I stopped in and had dinner.

Excellent meal, excellent service, and friendly staff. My party visited Charlie Palmer Steakhouse in D.C. as a celebration during our trip and late birthday for my daughter since missing it last year during covid. Being visitors to D.C., we were not sure what to expect or where to go for a celebration dinner. We were treated very well with friendly staff. Our waiter was patient with us to help us with the menu and style of service Charlie Palmer provides. We all ordered steaks which were cooked to order with several sides we all shared. Desserts were awesome and were a nice unsual splurge for us. Overall, we had an excellent time and really felt great after our dinner. To top off our evening, we were treated to a special location to view the Capitol and Mall. We left the restaurant impressed and very happy we visited. We highly recommend Charlie Palmer Steakhouse in D.C.

The food was both very pretty and very delicious! It did take a little long to get to us but ultimately it was very worth it. Shout out to Lamar! He was our server, and probably since it wasn't very busy at the time, he took us to see the top floor of the building and we could see tons of the D.C. monuments from the view. He even took pictures of us up there! Awesome dude. 👌❤️

I have been coming to CP since they opened in 2004. Although “steak” is in the name, I’ve had so much delicious fish and seafood here. I’m attaching photos of “catch of the week” selections. Also some of Lamar and Danny’s fresh cocktail ingredients.

Came here for the first time recently and had an AMAZING experience with our bartender Lamar. The food was great, location is really lovely and Lamar was really fun! Highly recommend his espresso martini, it's a must-have! We came here for a happy hour, which was really fun, not crowded and an overall great experience! We would go back just to hang out with Lamar, he's the best!

Gustavo took care of us on Wednesday August 9 for my birthday dinner. He was very helpful and very polite and attentive. Food was amazing and the dessert was delicious.

Service was phenomenal. This was my first time dining here at Charlie Palmer Steak celebrating solo for my new job. Gustavo was my waiter and not only was he fully knowledgeable of every question I had, he made selecting my meal a breeze. The food was AMAZING, I started off with oysters, a Caesar salad, the ribeye asparagus and Mac and cheese. Mouth watering and to die for. As a foodie I live for the experience of the venue and food. Both are top tier. Down to the playlist for the evening which touched every genre. 10/10 I highly recommend this spot! Also check out the roof top 😉.

I had a great experience. I ordered the lobster linguini and it was absolutely delicious. I also had to have asparagus and it was cooked perfectly and great flavors. I had a few servers: Gustavo, Rodrigo, and 2/3 more. The service was spot on. I was taken care of. I would come back for the environment, music, service, and food.

Lamar is literally the BEST bartender in DC. I’ve been to all the “greatest” restaurants in DC & his drink are literally the best. Asked for a blue motorcycle and let me tell you it was the fanciest yet the best blue motorcycle ever! & I’ve tried them from everywhere. His espresso martini is amazing & his Negroni is to die for.

Classic steakhouse; menu is small, but everything is delicious. The service could be more attentive - they may be short staffed due to the pandemic. The burger and steak are good portion sizes for lunch.

One of the best places to dine in D.C.!!! Would recommend the tuna tartare for an appetizer, NY strip was made to perfection, and the crème brûlée was a perfect desert to top it off. Other than the food, Danny offered the best pairings and recommendations of win/drinks. Amazing service!

I was in town for a work conference & some of my co-workers & I decided to try this place out. I am so glad we did! The food & drinks were amazing! I had the New York Strip & it was cooked just right & had a delicious espresso martini as well. But what really made the visit to this restaurant great was our server Tara! She gave us great recommendations on what we should order & was very attentive & friendly throughout our visit. I will definitely be going back here next time I’m in town & I hope I get Tara as my server again! Thanks Tara!
