    This has been one of the worst business establishment ever! I took a healthy 6 yo Puppy there. He went in for a hair cut came out with small red rashes all over his body. I took him home he did not eat or drink that night. Took him to the animal emergency room where they billed me $400 to say it was the hair cut! It was not done correctly the clippers were too hot, dirty and so on! I called the store and the grooming manger says oh the groomer is new and I will give you 40% off! I’m sick to my stomach! This is my child and all you can offer me is 40% and lies ! I’m so disappointed and sadden it’s been two days yet this is hard my puppy is not doing well! This my first fur baby! Never again! If I could rate it 0 stars I would do -100!

    Based on my experience here today, this is a great location for Petsmart. The lady that helped me behind the counter was excellent and very helpful. So friendly. They have good inventory and they were busy restocking shelves everywhere you look.

    This was a much better experience than I had at the Largo location (which I left a different review on). At this location, the staff was busy with other customers and grooming another dog when we arrived, but they still made sure to greet us and let us know they’d be there to help as soon as possible. The groomer even collected verbal information from me while she was grooming another dog just to make it easier. The bather really got down on my pup’s level for the hands on assessment, giving her time to get comfortable before taking her back for the bath. The service was faster than the 2 hour time limit they said it would take, and they communicated with me when my dog was 20 mins away from being done, giving me ample time to return and pick her up smoothly. And when I did return, she was clean, happy, and the groomers had nothing but compliments about her behavior. The complete opposite of what happened at the Largo location. If you a good Petsmart location for grooming your fur baby, I recommend this location highly!

    DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOGS TO THIS GROOMER. The entire store from the manager Michel down are extremely unprofessional, rude, and act as if they have never worked with dogs before. My dog has been to the grooming salon at various Petsmarts - this one included - plenty of times. Never had any issues with biting. After calling me numerous times to move my appointment from 1:30 pm to an earlier time to better accommodate what I assume must be her busy Friday, Maricarmen moved my appointment - without permission to 12:30. When I arrived at 12:50, her colleague Nia/Mia tried to scald me for being late, despite 1) me arriving earlier as Maricarmen requested and 2) Maricarmen not being in the salon. We waited 10 minutes for her come out of the bathroom - Mia did not even bother to try to help during this time. Neither did another groomer that came in, Andre. When Maricarmen finally comes back, she completely mishandled their so-called "assessment" and claimed that my dog tried to bite her because he barked. Like most dogs, the groomer is not his favorite experience and the longer we stand there waiting, the more nervous and anxious he becomes. They asked that I stand outside of the waiting lobby and again, instead of just taking him to the back, they allowed him to follow me to the door, again, making him more anxious. After I requested the manager, she proved to be just as unhelpful and basically blamed it on my dog having "a bad day" like her associates weren't the one having an attitude with me. My dog has been getting groomed at Petsmart since he was born in 2014. NEVER has anyone had an issue with him barking because that's what dogs do - bark. Not every dog is going to be happy to see the groomer and it is up to the person working with dogs to make them more comfortable. Comfort isn't a priority for the people working in this salon, clearly. Unless you are making them comfortable. They are rude, unprofessional, and clearly able to work with dogs of any and all kinds. I will never bring my dog back here and recommend others to do the same.

    Had a GREAT experience at the PetSmart Dakota Crossing grooming salon. My puppy is 6 months so he had the big fluffy hair (which I loved) but it’s time for a change. I asked his grooming artist to take him down but leave a little. I picked him up and was in awe, he looked so handsome. I love all the staff!! Andre F was great, will be back in a few weeks.

    Terrible grooming. I sent my dog here for a haircut and we got a call saying he’s at the dog hospital because they cut his ear! Another lady called us saying that it just started bleeding out of no where while he was in the bath but when my dog got examined we were informed it was a SLICE. We waited in the dog hospital lobby for 6-7 hours and waisted our Sunday afternoon. I’m never going back here again.

    I took my pup here for grooming. Jason was ready promptly at my appointment time. He did an amazing job with the grooming and called me when he was almost done so I could head over. I was surprised to walk in and see how happy she was! I’ve never seen my pup so calm and relaxed at a grooming appointment!

    I especially like the groomers that are there. Anytime I have gone in to get my dogs haircut and bath, the groomers are very responsive and friendly. They are great with the dogs too. I have gone several times for a grooming appointment. I gave 4 stars as I don't think the staff in the actual store have been helpful in the past but that has just been my experience.

    The 2 batch of fish I got from them has literally only lasted a week max , the previous fish I had got has lasted 5 months so far ( a few passed ) , but now I am completely unsatisfied because I spend so much money with them, from dogs, Guinea pigs, fish . Water test strips are great. Ammonia everything I am so upset . One passed overnight , return home from work and here is the other only lasted 7 days literally

    I am always overjoyed to shop at Pet Smart at Dakota Crossing. I feel right at home. As I mentioned in my last survey, Michele, RJ, Alex and the lady who cashiers are awesome. I failed to mention another wonderful and helpful and kind associate, Bruce. He is outstanding. He has great customer service attributes and is always helpful and friendly and very knowledgeable about your products. He is always working hard every time I come into the store which is at least once a week. Michele, RJ and Alex and the lady who cashiers don't know her name she was P/T now F/T and is black and has an accent an older woman. She is outstanding and amazing and is also great with the customers. Michele and RJ have so much respect from the employees and work so well with them. Their leadership abilities are superb and their customer service is over the top. The store is always clean, neat and things are easy to find and always well stocked. Shout out to the managers Michele, RJ and Alex. And a real shout out to Bruce, also. I recently brought my Rottie in for grooming and Mia was the groomer. First time meeting her and it won't be the last. I was absolutely thrilled with the grooming she did for Tina. She is wonderful and has such a kind hand and heart and way with animals ... she sure did with Tina. Tina loved her. Thank you, Mia. Amazing staff, amazing leadership and great customer service.     Never thought I’d write a negative review about Petsmart, but here we are. I went to buy a neon tetra and 2 yellow tail guppy fish. I brought them home (already have a tank set up and have 3 other fish.) as soon as the neon tetra fish was put in, along with the guppies, it died. Now I did call and they said I could come in and exchange the fish. I did. Same thing happened, again, as soon as I acclimated the new neon tetra. I did pay more attention to how they were taking the fishies out of their tank the second time and honestly it was so roughly handled…. At this point I don’t even want to go back and get another from fear of another fish dying. Honestly disappointing. I just wanted another so my other tetra could have a buddy. You can even see the comparison of the conditions my neon tetra and the second one they gave me are. The second one I was given has all of it’s fins damaged and even the red is faded drastically…. Photos are not photoshopped or filtered and are under same lighting.

    I've used the Washington DC Dakota Crossing Petsmart grooming services before but today for some reason, they are open but not answering their phone in the grooming department. Placed on hold 3 separate occasions and no luck getting through. Booked a grooming appointment at another Petsmart in Greenbelt Maryland, further drive but I can at least get our dog groomed today.

    I have recently visited this location via appointment for the groomers. Once I was at the location I was told that even though the policy states that the rabies shot had to be after 48 hours or more prior to the appointment I was denied service anyway because it wasn’t more than 62 hours according to Jose’s (the groomer) standards Update someone from this location called me in regards to this problem and all she could do is apologize and offer 15% off my next service. No thanks! I left there and went to Petco 14th st location same day as a walk in and was 100% satisfied!!!

    PetSmart is our go-to for all of our pet's needs, especially his grooming needs. They always treat our little dog so lovingly and with great respect. He is so comfortable with the care he receives there. We also love the value for the service we receive there. The PetSmart at Dakota Crossing has an all-star grooming crew!!!

    My name is Meredith and I took my dog to get a nail trimming at the PetSmart in NE DC. This has been one of the customer experiences I've ever experienced. Seth, Andre and Denisse greeted me with a friendly smile, professionalism and extremely prompt amazing service! They did an excellent job trimming my dogs nails. Their dedication to excellent customer service and professionalism is second to none and reflects great credit upon themselves and the PetSmart brand. My overall rating undoubtedly is 5 out of 5 stars without hesitating. Seth, Andre and Denisse all deserve a big raise and the biggest recognition/honorable mention for their amazing friendly service, attentiveness and professionalism. Thanks PetSmart for hiring these jewels of employees to represent your magnificent restaurant business! :o)

    I scheduled a grooming appointment. The appointment was set for 11:30 at 4:30 (5 hours later) I was told that my groomer had an emergency and couldn’t complete my dog. So for 5 hours he’d been sitting in a crate (they do not take them to the bathroom) just for them to call and say sorry we cannot provide the services and we’ll just give you 50% off next time. When I got there I spoke to the manager who said she understood I was upset but her groomer had a personal issue and she sent her home because she couldn’t effectively do her job she was so upset (I got a different story when I was called which was the groomer had an emergency at her sons school yes at almost 5pm and she had to go to the school) I was told that no other groomer could cut my dogs hair because they were so behind. Fine but as I’m walking out of PetSmart I saw another client walk into the grooming salon for her appointment. I asked how they were still taking new clients if they were so backed up the manager said well I told you they had other clients. I asked so it made more sense to not service my dog who’s been here since 11:30 AM than to cancel appointments for people who’s dogs haven’t been sitting up here all day? The manager gave me a dumb deer in headlights look. I’m not sure if it’s poor leadership or if they’re just all a little slow. This is not the first issue I’ve had there. The grooming staff is rude and there is no accountability. We had an appointment at whatever time the grooming salon opens. The opening groomer was 45 minutes late. I would not recommend this grooming salon to anyone. Poor management, no accountability, inability to accurately schedule clients. Piss poor preparation.

    Took my dog here to get groomed for years until I noticed my dogs breath still smelled bad. Upon closer inspection, I saw that her teeth had not been cleaned after I asked and paid for the service. When I called they insisted they cleaned her teeth but not to expect them to clean all the plaque. Lies. My dog had food literally sitting on top of her teeth which I was able to get off myself. Don’t lie and take my money especially when I a long time customer. Haven’t taken her back since.

    the young lady working the front register was super friendly and pleasant. store was clean, but cluttered - I came on a restocking day, but I was able to find what I needed. However, I didn't see a cooler for "fresh" dog food. Not sure if I overlooked it or if they don't carry it.

    Consistently out of items , specifically pet food . Their response is its popularity . If an item is a fan favorite , wouldn’t it benefit the store to keep it in stock because -I don’t know revenue ? This has been going on for two months now. It’s DC, everyone has a pet , keep your stores stocked dude .

    If you’re looking to buy fish, stay away from this location. Most aquatic sections at Petsmarts are pretty rough, but this location is really bad. The number of dead fish in their tanks was astounding. The staff couldn’t even muster the energy to at least pretend they care about the animals. Against my better judgement I bought fish (mostly because I brought my kid and said we’d be picking up some and I didn’t feel like arguing), and they all died within a week; taking with them some of my perfectly-healthy fish who were already in the tank and had been for years.

    Closed on a Saturday (Aug 6, 2022) Easily the dumbest management decision ever made in retail management history. No warning, just show up and find the doors locked. Notice a piece of orange construction paper with chicken scratch scrawled I'm thick magic market explaining that they're closed for technology reasons and something about training, and then I stopped trying to decipher the scrawl. Who the heck decided to close on a Saturday?? That all sounded like things you do on a Monday morning when store traffic is always slow

    Just want to mention the young lady Khaliyah She is the employee that was working today at the Fish area. I want to mention that she does a very upstanding work.     I’ve taken my baby here twice to get groomed and honestly both experiences have been top on my pet smart grooming list. We’ve recently moved to the area so, it’s such a satisfying feeling to have such an awesome crew taking care of our baby’s grooming needs.

    The grooming at this location is awful. I’ve been using Petsmart for a nail trim/grind for years and per Petsmart’s website and every other location, this is a walk up service, no appt needed; in fact most other locations won’t even let me schedule an appt. Every time we go here for a nail trim, we get turned away and told to make an appt. When I call to make an appt (bc you cannot make this type of appt online) they’re “full.” It literally takes 10 min each time to get my pup’s nails trimmed so it’s quite ridiculous. My final straw with this location was finally getting an appt and then come to find out they scheduled us in Falls Church?! I’m so over this location. Go somewhere else.

    Groomer left a sour taste in my mouth. The whole department seemed like a “us vs them” team thing. When I had a problem they all seemed offended instead of wanting to fix the issue and suggested since I am not happy maybe I should find another groomer. Yup, I agree. ESPECIALLY when I arrived my dog was howling and cry barking and they acted like no one heard her. I know that to be the “potty cry” and they were just ignoring it. Then once I asked them to go get her so she wouldn’t be so upset while we were discussing an issue with the bill. Her eyes were still dirty and crusty and I wonder why after a bath and cut her eyes were so messy and they said it was probably from her crying and being upset without me. Goodness. I have a Standard Poodle that is spoiled and LOVES being groomed so this is just weird…they just don’t seem like they LIKE grooming.

    I took my pup to be groomed Saturday. They butchered my baby. I notice lastnite a nick on back of his leg an his ears were still dirty an smelly. His nails were cut too low i notice blood on paw. 1st an last time using them. They charged 101.00 for what i don't know

    I took my dog in to be groomed a week ago Monday, February 21, 2022. The groomer who provided the service was Jasmyn. As a result of my visit my puppy experienced issues due in part to his cut. She shaved my puppy extremely close over his entire body and did a poor job ensuring his facial hair or his ears were cut evenly. I ended up having to take him to the Vet which resulted in a bill of $300.00 due in part to the stress caused by his haircut. I will never use this PetSmart again and certainly wouldn’t recommend her for grooming services.
