This is the most popular Ghats along the Yamuna river, just 500m further from the famous Dwarkadheesh temple. Yamuna Aarti is performed at Sunset & is highly recommended. The ancient city can be best seen during a boat ride from here. Ruins of Kans Qila can also be seen while boating. Beware of the local priests & touts who are scamsters waiting for looting the tourists

Vishram means rest and it is named so because Lord Krishna rested at this place after killing Kansa, Mathura is incomplete without a visit to Vishram Ghat and the temples dotting it. There are 12 ghats to the north of Vishram Ghat and 12 ghats to the south of it positioning it in the centre.Vishram Ghat displays a beautiful spectacle during evenings at the time of evening prayers and aarti. Devotees float oil lamps and diyas on paan leaves into the adjoining Yamuna River. One of the top activities to do on Vishram Ghat is to indulge in the boat ride, which helps you soak in the serenity of the soul-soothing Yamuna River.

This is the place, according to legend, where Shri Krishna had taken test (विश्राम) after having killed Kans. Hence the name. Also according to local legend, this is the spot on the Yamuna where Vasudev started his journey across the Yamuna to Gokuldham to take the baby Krishna to safety. For such a historically important place, the maintenance of the place could have been far better. It is painful to see the cleaning staff making supreme efforts to keep the place clean and the tourists on the other hand disposing of litter anywhere and everywhere. What is even more heart breaking is the so called local guides at every nook and corner encouraging the visitors to throw waste on street corners and j to the drains. यहां खूब साफ-सफाई होती रहती है। There is boating on the Yamuna from this point, and it is a pleasant and budget-friendly experience.

A wow place. Very peacefull. Must visit during evening time 7:30-8:00 for aarti. Aarti can be done from Ghat and or Boat. Preferable is the boat due to the huge population on Ghat. You can also visit in the morning for boating and capture pictures (scenic beauty). Must carry fika ganthiya to enjoy a view with birds (don't buy from inside, it will be 20 instead of 5). The price for the boat ride is usually the 100 per person in the Eve and 50 per person in the morning.

The Vishram Ghat's architecture shows marble stonework, including a massive stone arch. One side of the Vishram Ghat consists of 12 Ghats, while the other side has 11 more! Pilgrims from all over the country come to Vishram Ghat to bathe in its holy waters and complete the customary parikrama. The Vishram ghat is lined with many temples and some of the most significant shrines, such as Yamuna-Krishan, Murli Manohar, etc.❤️❤️

this place has the real essence of krishna bhakti and yamuna darshan. after crossing some narrow crowded streets, vishram ghat gives us a panoramic view of sri Yamuna ji. we hv visited here both on morning and evening aarti time. both experience were amazing. boating is available at nominal charges with some bargain. just didnt like the mess n dumped waste in corners. river itself was a lil dirty . local people as well as tourist must keep this place as clean as they hv admiration for this holy place. oh .... and the monkeys. they r very scary, all trained to snatch our belongings. U can not enjoy surroundings freely, u need to be very alert in ur subconscious about these notorious creatures. it seems like a scam here for making us buy our eyewear.

It is the main ghat of Mathura and is central to 25 other ghats. The traditional parikrama starts and ends at Vishram Ghat. Lord Krishna is said to have rested at this place after killing Kansa. Next to dwarikadhish temple on walking distance. Boat ride is must and beware of monkeys. Hardly they charge 20 rs to 50 rs per person for boat ride. We visited in evening for witnessing the Yamuna Aarti. Its suggested to assemble atleast 15-20 mins beforehand to get a suitable place to sit. The Aarti started at 7pm and ended in 15 mins and is very average and nothing compared to Haridwar/Kashi. Visiting here just for witnessing the Aarti is not worth the time and effort. The Vishram Ghat has a very crowded approach and e-rickshaw /walking is the best way to reach here. Rickshaws charge around 10-15 per head from Krishna Janmbhoomi. Visit to Dwarkadhish Temple can be combined with Vishram Ghat as both are nearby. If you like to be with your self and the nature, the right time is @ Morning at Sun rise. Also the best time to be away from the rush and crowd. Thanks Dhaara

Overall view is beautiful. Boats look pretty in line. I went there as a tourism place but people also come here to do some religious activities. But there is no cleaning around the ghat. Muddy water is everywhere and it ruins the beautiful view of ghat. Peole also throw food and other items outside and inside the river.

It is a historical religious place of Mathura. It belongs to Hindu community. This Yamuna Ghat relates to Lord Krishna. It is believed that Lord Krishna comes here to meet Radha Rani. It's a sacred place. The Ghaat looks so beautiful and clean. One should definitely visit here if you're coming to Mathura. Its to calm and peaceful to just sit here and spend some time.

It's average ghat like any other ghat. Not maintained. You can skip this if your native town has ghat or boating facility. In evening lots of mosquito was there. For boating properly bargain. Rates are not fixed. It's very close to dwarikesh temple.

Very nice place this is. Try to come in evening time. You can do boating also but you must burgain a lot. You can do photo shooting here as the view is very beautiful. It is very near to Dwarkadhis temple. Beware of monkeys. A market is also there. You can do shopping if you want. Half an hour is enough.

Beautiful but needs maintenance. The government is hugely responsible for not keeping these beautiful places clean.

Holy place where our beloving "GOVINDA" did the rest for some time after killing his own mother's brother The king of Mathura that time 'KANSA'. kansa Qila is situated nearby all ghats. So many mini ghats are situated here. Not that much crowded . Totally free no charges charged for entry here. The holy ambiance is great and the view of Holy River " The Yamuna" is just looking mesmerizing from here. Boat facility is available which are starting from ₹100 per person. Beware of scammers don't let them fool you and don't give more than ₹100 per head. Beware of all those so called baby's who try to make you fool for just some bucks. Anyway very calmful and silent place for passing some time alone or with family by looking at the sunset at the evening.

The best place to be in mathura. Sit on the ghat or take boat ride. All the tiredness or fatigue will go. Try going early morning or at sunset time. Don’t miss the Arti in the evening after 7 pm.

According to mythology, the name Vishram ghat was originated due to three reasons; Firstly 5000 years ago Lord Krishna after punishing and killing Kans rested in Vishram Ghat; Secondly when Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu came to Vrindavan rested in Vishram Ghat; Thirdly when Shri Basudev ji(Father of lord Krishna in his mathura pastimes) was carrying the newborn Lord krishna across Kalindi(river Yamuna) to the other side of the river i.e Gokul; took rest at Vishram Ghat. Vishram literally means Rest and Ghat means River Bank. Presently this place is located at the bank of river Yamuna with temple of goddess Yamuna and her brother Yamraj since ancient times. One can observe that by looking at the bells here.People often say, those who worship here whole heartedly with devotion leaves this materialistic world permanently  and obtain salvation. They are not being departed to the Yama Loka. Also there is beautiful tradition that still exist somehow among the vrajavasis that siblings i.e brothers and sisters on the auspicious day of bhai-dooj , if together take holy bath at Yamuna river in vishram ghat , surely they are being removed from all the material obstacles in their life and attain salvation. At present lot of devotees from every part of india and around the world visit this place to worship River kalindi(Yamuna) and Yamraj. And atmosphere of this place is so heartmelting that anyone can immerse their soul into serenity that exist here except summer season due to the scorching heat🙂. I myself visited this place four and experienced the atmosphere here. So for the visitors ideal time to visit would be at arround 6-9:30a.m or 5:30-7:30 p.m in summer season to witness the aarti and 7-10 a.m or 4:30- 7:30 p.m in other seasons in order to avoid the heat.
