The food quality was exactly mediocre. Most things were not at the right temperature or had flavor profiles that didn't fit the traditional food it was trying to be. The roast beef was either too well done or not done enough, steamed buns were somehow cold, Indian curry tasted nothing like it should. The only thing I enjoyed was the nigiri, quality was bang on there. Dessert selection was smaller than you would expect and flavors definitely seems more like manufactured grocery store cakes vs artisan buffet Staff kept things stocked and restaurant was clean, If it weren't for this and the sushi the rest of the experience would be two stars or less.

Delicious buffet from roast beef 🥩 to Chinese noodles, Japanese tempura to sushi 🍣 sashimi and fresh seafood 🦞 all you can eat. It was crowded already on Thursday afternoon at 3pm. Definitely recommended and need to reserve before coming. Come with lots of hunger 😋

We really enjoyed the lunch buffet here! Lots of delicious options and friendly service. We paid 1580 per person on a Tuesday.

It was really nice to have Tina Tsai, Joanna Lee to serve and resolve our concerns. They both were so patient and friendly during the trouble pops out and get it done smoothly. We appreciate to have them during our stay.

FES CAFÉ is a buffet restaurant located on the 6F floor of Shangri-La Hotel Taipei, not much view to look at but a huge dining area with comfortable seating arrangements and professional service the only buffet restaurant in Taiwan that collaborates with the renowned soup dumpling restaurant - Din Tai Fung, but sadly they do not offer their signature dish here, what a disappointment. Overall, the food was great, I enjoyed the seafood, open grilled, and teppanyaki section. Some people complained their roasted steak was a bit dry and overcooked, but I found mine was not so bad - the protein went well with various kinds of salts they provide. Other hot food sections were mediocre, not much highlight, and did not really catch my attention that much, but with a price of NT$1580 pp + another 10% Service charge, I actually think it’s not a bad deal!

We came here for the included breakfast as part of the booking. There was a good selection of stations featuring Taiwanese, Japanese, and western style dishes.

As a hotel guest, I really enjoyed the breakfast buffet included as part of the AMEX Fine hotels and resorts program. We tried the dinner buffet and were very impressed by the food, with the exception of the Indian station, which was bad quality and old. The buffet has the best service of any buffet I've ever been to! Plates were cleared instantly and servers were extremely attentive offering refills.

One of the best hotel breakfast selection with great taste and quality cuisines. There are many cooking stations where you can order various types of food. Service is fast and ambience is cosy.

The food and environment had greatly improved than my previous experiences here, although the food selection was still rather limited, and VERY limited dessert selection. The quality of the food and service was pretty good, hence an overall above-average experience - although slightly pricey.

I booked the ‘afternoon tea’ time for the buffet here for 4:15 and there was a small hiccup in the beginning when we arrived we were told “Afternoon tea finishes at 4:30, do you still want to eat for 15minutes, or you can wait until 5:30 for the dinner time buffet”. I was quite surprised and disappointed in this. Why on Earth would it let me book 4:15 time when nobody is going to eat there for 15minutes?? One member of staff said she called me before I arrived but that was already when we were on our way. So we had no option but to wait another 1hr 15mins and it was raining so we had nothing to do other than to wait in the hotel lobby. This was a terrible first experience which I do not expect from a 5 star hotel. On the other hand, everything else about the (now dinner) was great. There’s a good selection of foods from different cuisines. My favourite part is the Indian corner with curries and fresh naan bread than a chef will cook for you in a few minutes. The lamb and roast beef is also great. There’s lots of other dishes for you to try as well as lots of drinks and desserts including cake and ice cream. Another good thing about this is there is no time limit so you can really take your time eating for dinner. We were celebrating my girlfriends bday and they surprised her with a chocolate cake that came from the cake shop also located in the hotel. The hotel itself is what you would expect from a 5 star hotel. Very clean with professional staff. Again everything was great except the start which is why the review gets 4 stars instead of 5. The price is expensive but that was expected and we were celebrating a birthday there. Overall, it was a nice buffet dinner.

A little more pricey than other buffets, but worth it. Nice touches such as: Parma ham, Camembert cheese, micro greens and quality olives at the salad bar; real, oysters, steamed and chilled crab. The sushi and sashimi are the best I've had at a buffet. Nice fresh juices, not like the watery or sugary ones I've had at other buffets. The dessert table is incredible. They had 3 whole cakes! Lots of pastries and other confectionery too. The only thing missing is alcohol. Most buffets at this level offer beer or wine. Still worth it though.

I’ve been to this restaurant once when I was in Taiwan. The stars speak for their food, services, and the place atmosphere. It was phenomenal! If you’re in Taiwan and you’re looking for a place where you can enjoy the local cuisine and even a cozy atmosphere, you should go check them out.

Good place but not too many options for vegetarian people.

The restaurant is going to be closed at 21:30, but I was told to settle the bill at 20:15. The chefs are all going to pack the things, or preparing to be closed shortly. The atmosphere here is bad, likely to push us to finish earlier, so as to let those staff off duty on time. Food is common. The junior staff I want to give home a thumb up is his working attitude, though their seniors are preparing to be off duty, he is working hard to remove the plates after finished. Surely it is over rated in this restaurant especially it is under the brand name of Shangri-La, hope the brand won’t be declined in the future

We really had a great dinning experience at CAFÉ this evening. Especially thanks the Indian Chef Shiu Rawat. Thanks for introducing us what these indian food are and how they taste like. The roti you made today was so amazing. We will definitely come for that again.

An all you can eat buffet restaurant in the five star hotel Shangri-LA’s Far Eastern Plaza Hotel Taipei, serving a wide variety of food. Other than local food, it also provides quite a lot of exotic food, such as Indian curry with naan, freshly fried steak or pork chops, sashimi, and more with pretty decent quality and taste.

Well, It’s my first time came to here and I could not accept this experience Bad atmosphere All the food was too bad to eat! Main meal, soup, beverages, dessert all of them are wrong tasty I just wondering why it cost so high? I would not come again! I wish someone like the chef or any staff could give me a reasonable answer! Sincerely,

By far the best buffet place I’ve been to. I know there are many more popular buffets in Taipei, but since I only have limited space in my tummy and I’m getting old, I want only quality food and comfort atmosphere to enjoy my lunch. Love the food they provide. Everything is of high quality. They even offer 35% discount to all seniors over age 65. This place is not crowded like other places. People are more at ease when getting food. 😂😂 I especially love their salad bar. Very different from other buffet restaurants. Love love love and I’ll definitely come back.
