Our
group
of
6
had
a
very
enjoyable
stay
here,
courtesy
of
Peiling
(the
bubbly
and
warm
owner,
architect
by
training)
and
her
attention
to
details,
hospitality
and
importantly,
her
ways
of
how
a
homestay
should
feel
like
for
her
guests.
We
were
told
that
the
homestay
will
only
accept
one
group
of
visitors
to
stay
on
any
given
day.
As
there
is
only
a
2
pax
room
and
a
4
pax
room,
that
means
if
the
2
pax
room
is
taken
up
first,
the
4
pax
room
will
be
pulled
(ie
not
available
anymore).
So
post
closing
around
5pm
(homestay
also
operates
a
simple
cafe
/
retail
shop
showcasing
local
work),
we
actually
have
the
whole
place
to
ourselves
(the
kitchen,
dining
area,
retail
space
to
browse
after
dark),
sans
the
owner's
house
and
space
at
the
back
(the
building
is
made
up
of
3
historic
buildings,
of
which
1
is
for
homestay,
1
for
owner
stay,
1
for
retail
/
cafe,
including
a
classroom
setting
at
loft
area
of
cafe
-
which
can
easily
host
an
offsite
session
etc).
The
rooms
itself
are
located
in
the
middle
building,
on
the
2nd
floor
(one
flight
of
steps
up).
First
room
is
the
2
pax
room,
and
then
4
pax
room
at
the
back
of
building.
Water
temperature
/
control
in
shower
are
great,
although
the
knee
length
shower
curtains
mean
you
will
get
much
wetter
floors
regardless
how
you
shower.
The
location
is
great,
central
to
everything
(10min
to
thu
only
night
market,
5min
stroll
to
morning
market,
8min
to
old
street,
10min
to
watch
the
nightly
daxi
bridge
light-up),
and
there
is
a
breakfast
shop
just
opposite
the
building,
a
rice
store
2min
away
(buy
some
taiwanese
rice
back!),
and
a
100yo
braised
tofu
shop
(buy
back
the
special
辣椒拌酱
for
hotpot
dips
/
gifts!).
And
then,
this
is
where
i
think
the
homestay
goes
up
a
notch
wrt
attention
to
details,
vs
others.
>
Both
rooms
have
windows
that
can
open
up
well
for
light
/
ventilation,
and
also
blinds
for
privacy.
>
The
door
on
lvl
2
opening
into
the
corridor
(leading
to
the
rooms),
as
well
as
room
windows,
all
have
mosquito
netting
built
in.
>
You
leave
your
shoes
outside
the
room
(as
you
would
at
home),
and
slippers
are
provided
in
room.
>
Japanese
style
WC
/
bidet
is
installed,
and
is
located
away
from
shower
area
(which
is
walk-in
basis,
so
its
good
for
elderly
folks).
>
Rooms
have
hot
/
cold
water
flasks
already
pre-filled
before
arrival,
and
you
can
DIY
more
downstairs
at
the
kitchen
(as
owner
will
retreat
back
to
her
home
after
5pm
closing).
>
The
clothes
rack
area
(with
birds
motif
for
additional
hanging
space),
multi-level
table
for
stuff,
TV
console,
and
of
course,
a
nice
sofa
for
relaxing
properly
in
the
room,
let
us
feel
more
at
ease
then
usual.
>
The
ceiling
in
the
rooms
wasn't
'spared'
-
existing
wooden
beams
are
beautified
with
'antlers'
-
check
out
the
pic.
>
Peiling
also
shares
her
own
local
guide
map
of
what
to
eat,
where
to
explore
/
eat
breakfast,
local
morning
market
area,
which
braised
tofu
shops
to
go
for
etc,
and
really
goes
the
extra
mile
to
showcase
the
history
of
the
building
throughout
the
cafe
etc.
>
A
parking
lot
is
reserved
outside
the
building,
in
case
you
are
driving.
Throughout
our
stay,
we
did
not
feel
like
a
tourist
booking
a
hotel,
but
more
of
a
friend
staying
over
at
another's.
Daxi
has
always
been
away
from
the
limelight
(vs
taipei
/
jiufen),
but
i
think
it's
time
you
consider
to
take
a
trip
here,
stay
a
night
with
Peiling
with
her
unique
homestay,
and
explore
this
historic
area
at
leisure.
In
short,
CP值爆表!
