👍👍 Excellent place for Thai food! Was very busy when we stumbled across it in the old town: short wait to get a table. There’s an extensive menu with most of the usual suspects - the ones we had were delicious! Especially the spring rolls and aubergines with pork were great. If you’re lucky, you’ll get... A very busy place and we had to wait about 15 minutes. Food was good. We had the fried Calamari to start and Yellow Chicken Curry. Mine was served with crispy noodles and soft noodles. Not as spicy as we would have liked but still good.

The restaurant has an antique wooden building. The owner, Dash, is a very interesting person with a very kind attitude. Watch him chat with the guests at a table and introduce the dishes. . It feels like he is a human translator at all, and it is very powerful to automatically switch between languages! 😀 meals are also delicious The meals are also delicious There will also be live performances on Tuesdays!

The best food in chaing main hands down! The owner cane up to us and greeted us as well, he was so sweet. We stumbled into this place while walking and it was the best decision. Loved the vibes and the food

Excellent place! My wife has celiac disease and it’s always an issue to find gluten free restaurants while we are traveling. Even cross contamination is a huge issue. This restaurant has great food, and most of it can be made gluten free upon your request. The staff is very friendly and when I came in and explained the situation with my wife a master chef came and spoke to me and made sure that everything was understood from gluten point of food. The food was fantastic and my wife did not have any reaction whatsoever! Thank you ! Highly recommended! Attached is current menu :)

Hands down the best food, service, and atmosphere you’ll find in Chiang Mai. We were only staying for 3 days, but made sure to come here twice. We tried different dishes each visit, and every single thing was delicious. The crispy shrimp appetizer was a highlight. Make sure to make a reservation, you’re not gonna want to miss this place.

Nice ambience with great host who can speak many languages fluently. They have live music on a Saturday night when we were there. Of all the dishes we ordered, we love the fried chicken in tamarind sauce best. The steam sea bass, although fresh, was not as warm a dish as we had preferred. The eggplant with tofu is yummy. Portion is a little bigger than the smaller restaurants and, this place feels more catered to tourists’ appetite and tastebuds. It is best to make reservations as they can get crowded. We had walked in and were very lucky to grab a table. But a bigger group behind us made a wasted trip.

A great bar restaurant with in the old city. The food was good and unlike other restaurants we visited in Chiang Mai, this one has super friendly and efficient staff. The atmosphere is nice and the live performance was exceptional. A fantastic place to have dinner and drinks and hang out with your friends.

We arrived 30 minutes before closing, so it would have been entirely normal if they had declined to accommodate us, but they did! They kindly explained that we needed to hurry, so we quickly enjoyed a delicious meal. Good place, pleasant staff, tasty food!

This is a fantastic Thai restaurant. Not only is the food delicious, but the service is top notch - very kind staff that speak English very well and are willing to walk you through recommendations. Generous portion sizes. The ambiance is super relaxing, especially during the evening. Highly recommend.

Incredible food with beautiful presentation. Yes, it's expensive for Chiang Mai but the quality of the food is well worth the extra few dollars. The owner is proactive greeting her guests and recommending her most popular dishes. We will be back!!!

Catering more for the tourist but in a good way, well-rounded flavours and good service. None spicy food unless asked for (even then, not Thai spice) Really enjoyed our dinner, including the volume of the live musician. Vocal and guitar. Folk. Perfect volume for dining 🙏 Worth a visit!!!

Definitely the best Thai restaurant in town. Authentic style with remarkable flavours, the Khao Soi noodle is a must try, cocktails are fabulous. The venue has a great vibe, owner who speaks multiple languages is super friendly, restaurant staffs are very helpful. Tasty food happy place.

Had the green curry, red curry, papaya salad, and eggplant. All were good! The cocktail, where’s my elephant, is an interesting one. It’s basically a tom yum soup but in a cocktail drink. Can be quite spicy so definitely ask for less chili!

We were a little apprehensive as this restaurant is definitely geared towards western tourists, however we were pleasantly surprised. The Thai tamarind shrimp and basil eggplant were delicious. Although on the pricier side compared to other restaurants in the area, the portion sizes are quite big. Lovely ambiance and great service.

Wednesday evening at 6:30pm without a reservation for 4. Got on the list and stepped around the corner to a bar next door to wait. About 20 minutes later we were seated. We had been in Thailand for about a week and a half and felt we had some great meals, but Dash topped them all. Great flavors, atmosphere and staff. Kudos

We came to this spot because of the good reviews. It's pretty hidden but nice walk from the city walls. The menu is not too big what makes choice easy. Recommendation is to try one of the Chiang Mai traditional dishes, but do not forget to ask if its spicy to avoid any unexpected surprise ;D

It’s good but I wouldn’t say 4.5-5 star good. Ordered the sea bass chili sauce and we are pretty certain it wasn’t sea bass that we got. Also, since it’s already sliced up, we can tell the fish was pre-cooked earlier. The tamarind chicken too was a bit overcooked and dry. The sauce helps alleviate the issue but still something noted. Overall, definitely a more tourist oriented place, with prices to match. Still the ambiance is excellent, and there’s even western items for those that may not be as adventurous.

  • 5/5 Kayla A. 2 years ago on Google
Tamarind chicken is AMAZING. Pineapple fried rice was lovely. Staff was really kind and friendly and the conversation made us feel like family. Water closets were very very clean!! This impressed me!! Great atmosphere. They even offered mosquito repellent at each table which was great because they are rampant out there. The 2 kitties that call this place home were adorable as well :) Will definitely return for more.

Quite an overrated place. The setup is lovely, the owner is very welcoming. However, when it comes to food, its below average. Not really a place to have a good Thai food. The flavour is lacking.

This seems to get great ratings from everyone, and menu is very safe for tourists but not really a destination restaurant . It gets 4 stars just for Grandmas Fried Aubergines dish and was was worth the visit on its own

It's actually Blake here. Dash is a legend and makes the best food I have had travelling all of Thailand. As a person, he is one of the most hospitable, genuine, and interesting person you will ever meet. Going to Dash should be up there with the other places in Chiang Mia. if you go there and miss out on his food and personality you are doing yourself a disservice. Just... go

Dash is an extraordinary restaurant that every tourist should keep in mind in their Must Go List!! The entire menu looks very good and delicious. SOMETHING TO KEEP IN MIND: CASH ONLY! I ordered a traditional coconut soup with shrimp( Kam Tao) and rice on the side and it was fantastic 🥰😋 The dessert I decided on was the best Thailand cheesecake and it lives up to its name! ❤️

What a Restaurant! We accidentally bumped in and loved that place. The best food I ever had in northern Thailand. You can definitely choose every dish and you cant get wrong. But if you want to eat something outstanding try the Gai Rue Gung!

Hello. We ordered a fish and a salad "som tam"(not at all the Thai taste) the dishes and tastes are only for foreigners. no thai will come to this establishment. the waitress directly and systematically offers the most expensive dishes, that is to say with seafood. you can find the same kind of food on the street but much better. correct service.

Had such a nice dinner at dash. Suggest making a reservation, I didn’t and they were extremely busy but were kind enough to fit me in. I had the papaya salad and khao soi and it was the best I’ve had in Thailand. The woman who was taking care of me was lovely as well and cash was super kind. Would highly recommend :) thank you!

Good food and big portions. A little more expensive than some of the other restaurants in Chiang Mai which can be very cheap, but the quality and portions sizes are good. Staff were great too, speaking Thai, English and Spanish really well, so very tourist friendly. Also they made a real effort to get the spice level right for us (asking what curry we order in an British curry house!). We will be back!

Chanced upon this on google maps & decided to visit without reservation! Was lucky to get a seat when we reached at 530pm but most seats are marked as reserved - better call to reserve in advance. Food was amazing - tried Khao soi, brinjal and their Tom yam kung. Comes with a cute cat in the resto!

Fantastic restaurant! Just wow. Food is fantastic, fast service and great cocktails. Personally came for the Khao soi. Been my favourite so far of the whole trip. It's not on the menu with beef but you can ask for it. Portions are generous as well. It does get a bit hot and theres a lot of people coming to eat. Make sure you get a reservation or you'll be waiting for a while. Highly recommended coming here and all the food we got was good. It's cash only or if you have a Thai bank you can scan. Enjoy!

We found the restaurant and decided to have the Thai sausage and sweet potato salad. My taste buds were blown away. I love the food. Service was also on point. The veg. Khao Soi was amazing. A definite must try while in chiangmai.

Very cool place. Beautiful ambiance and elevated food. When I saw this place on Google maps I was worried it would be a tourist trap, but it’s actually just a great restaurant. The atmosphere and food is catered to western tastes, but in a way that I’m sure you will enjoy as there is no drop in quality. Despite what you might think, you don’t need to eat street food every single meal. Treat yourself!

  • 5/5 Kenny 1 year ago on Google
The food was outstanding! Best chicken Khao Soi I tried in Chiang Mai. The bacon wrapped prawns were perfectly cooked and the massaman curry was very tasty! Make sure to make a reservation. I showed up at open and by the time I left every table was packed.

The setting is romantic, there is plentiful seating inside and outside, the food arrives quickly, but the food lacks heat. The dishes are flavourful but there were no chilis. We didn’t understand why each dish was so mild but we later read one other review that said this restaurant caters to tourists and therefore you will need to specifically request for your dishes to be spicier. We were underwhelmed by the food because of this and would likely have rated this restaurant 5 stars otherwise.

  • 5/5 Jonky D. 7 months ago on Google
Very clean and fat trimmed meats. I thought the food was excellent and very flavorful. The service was rocket fast in less than 5 min to get our order. We also had the deep fried coconut ice cream which we devoured every bite. Excellent. Recommend.

Visited based on a review of Dutch backpackers. Look, atmosphere was great. Very OK live music, noticed only western ppl, but ok. Staff very friendly and helpful. Kids ordered burger and pasta - no complaints there. We ordered Raad Na, Gai Rue Gung Tod Sauce Makam, Tom kha kai. The Tom kha kai was ok, but missed the freshness of herbs and spices we love so much in Thai food. The other two dishes reminded us of Dutch Chinese food - a lot of sugar and (corn) starch to make thick and super sweet sauces. No spices, no fresh herbs - not even the taste of fresh garlic. Just a super lot of sweet. Again, not bad - but not at all what you expect in Thailand. Would even not be surprised if they used Ve-Tsin - but cannot be sure about that. Even looked up the recipes of the latter two dishes on a few sites - to be sure I was not expecting to much. But really think this restaurant caters to much to western taste - not only leaving out the hot spices, but a lot more. Had a nice experience, but mediocre food.

This a very good restaurant, food service and ambiance. Servers were very attentive and helpful. A lady helped me with eating my dish properly (which made it a lot better (: ). Should probably reserve a table if coming later than around 18.30, because they were full quite fast after we were seated. We had the Gung Shup Khao Tod fried shrimps, Khao Soi curry with egg noodles and the Gai Rue Gung Tod with Tamarind sauce and they were all some of the best dishes we've had. Good size portions as well. Big recommend!

This place is definitely pricier than most restaurants in the area, but the quality and the atmosphere justify it! Food was great! Drinks were unique and also great! The papaya salad is nice and spicy! As for food, we got the big appetizer plate to share... (which I only recommend for 4 people) it’s too much food for less than that. We got the “Where’s my elephant?” & another drink. Good sizes and very tasty! Some of the staff was a little rude... they took almost 20 mins to take our order and when they finally came, they misunderstood what we had picked. I think they were very stressed due to how busy it was... if it weren’t for the attitude of some of the staff, I would give a 5 star. I plan on coming back here and giving it another chance to be a 5 star review...

We stopped by Dash after visiting a temple nearby. The food was delicious and served very elegantly. We were here around 5:00 pm and first question we were asked if we had reservation. By the time we finished the place was full. We tried the crispy chicken in tamarind sauce, eggplant in curry, veg fried rice, sweet and sour soup and carrot cake. Everything was to the point. If you are around the area this is a must visit place. Happy Eating.

LOVE THIS PLACE!!! <3 Amazing food and drinks! My faves were the Gai Makam (Crispy Tamarind Chicken) and the Khao Soi. My friend and I actually loved the food so much that we came 3 evenings out of the 5 days we stayed in Chiang Mai. Noi and Dash are co-owners of DASH, I believe and they are some of the sweetest people ever. They recommended us some beautiful scenic sites to see while we were in Chiang Mai and Noi always tries her best to talk to each guest. It's really amazing to see someone take so much pride and care in their establishment. They really seem like some genuine, passionate and humble people and I can't wait to come back! :)

When I went there it sounded like 3/4 of the menu was unavailable. The food itself was average and nothing better than what you could get off the street. I guess we are paying extra for the ambience because it was nice & cosy.

Very quaint and pretty restaurant with a garden. The staff were friendly and the live music was an added touch. Overall I would say slightly expensive for the food - I enjoyed the tamarind chicken but it wasn't quite as good as I expected from previous reviews. Draft beer a bit pricey too.

One of the best restaurants in Chiang Mai! We have been to Dash many times over the past 5 years. We always go back! The food is amazing and authentic Thai (not tourist Thai!) and the staff is very pleasant. Service is great. The courtyard outdoor seating is our favorite place to dine. Good food, wasn’t great that we would come again though. Found multiple hairs in both mine and my friends food, staff just shrugged it off. Most of the staff seem like they don’t know what there doing, just walking around being very unhelpful towards the staff that are actually taking orders and seating people.

Restaurant has a nice atmosphere and inside is very authentic. There’s a wide variety of food of different cultures and from what I tasted it was delicious. I highly recommend ordering the mango cheesecake. It’s in an ok part of town and in walking distance of a wat, however it’s in a kind of secluded part of town. Overall great restaurant.
