👍👍 Best food of my life. Started coming here in 2018, and is my favourite place in Chiang Mai and probably the world. Get the catfish curry, and young mango salad. I also enjoy the tea leaf salad. It’s a pretty humble interior, and service. The food is out of this world. People often mention salad, Burmese, leaf, curry, delicious, good, tamarind, rice, dishes, tomato,

I wish this was closer to me, I'd be here often. The tamarind leaf salad was so good and such an affordable price, same for the pennywort salad and interesting Shan tomato rice. Once seated, food came out pretty quickly. There's free ice water and especially the seating in the back is not very atmospheric but that's not the point of this place. Friendly service and lots of regulars. There's a Thai menu as well but don't miss out on the Burmese food.

Good flavor and budget friendly (but small portions). Most of the items came out cool or cold :/ Worth a try. The tomato/tea leaf salad was really good, would recommend.

Had the tea leaf salad on recommendation of others, also tried the chicken curry & rice. Both were tasty and a reasonable portion. The textures & flavour of the salad were great!

This was the place we ate most during our one month stay in Chiang Mai (eight times!). The food and service was great every time we went. Here are our favorite dishes: S tier (favorites): - chicken curry #1 - tea leaf salad - young tamarind salad Tier 1 (ordered almost every time): - duck egg curry - Shan rice with crispy fish Tier 2: - eggplant curry - pennywort salad - catfish curry - pork curry Food ranges from 40-80 Baht and a side of white rice is 10 Baht. They provide free ice and drinking water, and also have freshly squeezed orange juice (30 Baht) and cold, fresh coconut (40 Baht)--the best I personally had in Thailand. We typically ordered 2 dishes and 2 sides of rice or 3 dishes and 1 side of rice. If we were particularly hungry, we ordered 4 dishes and 1 side of rice. We always ordered at least one salad and one curry. I will probably miss this restaurant and the people who work there more than any other place we dined in Chiang Mai. Hope you enjoy!

It is 100% open again as of December 9th, 2021. And awesome as usual. 🙂 This place could turn me into a vegetarian with their amazing tea leaf, tamarind and tomato salads. Haven't had them this good since we were last in Myanmar. Super cheap as well.

I am delicious, so I go out for a while when I go out at around 7 or 8 pm and eat at home~~ There is a condominium around the parking lot, so it would be okay to stay there for a while~~ It's one of the places only Nim often goes. I recommend it here~~ There's a man who speaks Korean, but he's happy~ I haven't tried any other menu hahaha I... I ate it more delicious than the mustache uncle's pad tie. There is no mustache uncle right now, but I often eat pad thai here~ (Original)

Absolutely incredible food, the best meal we've had so far after 8 nights in Thailand. Had the Chicken Yellow Curry and Burmese Pork Curry with potatoes, both tasted exquisite. Excellent value and came really fast, cannot fault it 👌

Been here twice. First times having Burmese food, so I have nothing to compare it to, but this was certainly not what I expected. The flavours were much more mild than what I'm used to eating in SE Asia. To me, the catfish curry & eggplant curry were not curry at all; the tomato-based sauce tasted Italian, that's how mildly spiced it was. Few spices/herbs & not spicy whatsoever. Tasty, sure, but also not mind blowing by any means. Also tried the shan tomato rice, young mango salad, tea leaf salad, and young tamarind salad. All tasty, maybe the mango salad the most so, but nothing too special. Very curious to try Burmese food elsewhere to compare. Great prices. Service is normal for the setting. Food comes out fast.

I had the burmese curry fish and tea leave salad. The tea leaf salad was amazing and crunchy texture. The fish curry was not curry at all, it was more like fish stewed in a tomato stew with lemongrass. It was very unique for a stewed fish in tomato with a flavor I had never had and probably will never have again.

Service is warm, welcoming, and friendly. Staff speak Thai, Myanmar, and English. The food is sensational and very authentic in flavours (oh, the Shan tomato rice has my heart). Don't think, just go. Same as everyone here - definitely get the tamarind leaf salad, too.

Incredible food, best tea leaf and tomato salad since we left Myanmar. We've been several times and highly recommend the tea leaf salad, tamarind salad, tomato salad, eggplant curry and the green curry fried rice. Have been here at least twice a week and the food is constantly delicious.

Staff wasn't so friendly, but I don't speak Thai or Burmese, so I get it... Food www fine, tried the Burmese pork curry & potatoes and it was nothing special but also enjoyable! For 60baht, I'd chose elsewhere with bigger portions next time

Just as or more delicious but half the price of that place popular with the foreigners over by the East gate. 🦢 I had the tea leaf salad. It was so good I got two more to go, the pennywort salad and the tamarind salad. They look amazing as well. Put a green flag on this place and make a visit. 😋🇲🇲

Unusual and delicious. Not spicy which is the first surprise next to the always amazing Thai food. I echo all the reviews below, order the eggplant curry and the tea leave salad. Absolutely scrummy. Don’t miss this spot if you’re in area or the city, worth the visit. Easy going and tasty. Interestingly they also serve Thai food but we kept it strictly Burmese in the interests of exploring the cuisine a little.

After seeing Joel (YouTube) rave about this place I had to try since I’ve been in Thailand for 3 weeks and starting to crave Burmese food. Two of us got there around 3pm today and ordered pork and beef curry with tea leaf and tamarind leaf salad. Food was decent but the girl who served us was not friendly. The reason I stated food is decent because it did satisfied my craving but as Burmese person the food did not have the Yangon Burmese food flavor. Probably not gonna go back for a decent food plus they didn’t seem welcoming.

Wow, tasty, unique (tea leaf salad), and the size and quantity of the chicken meat was great for 60 baht curry. And it was tender and not dry. I’m impressed and glad my friend told me about this place!

Nice and cheap Burmese food, it’s surprisingly cheaper than Thai food. I am a Burmese and I like to cook. So I can say this is authentic and taste better than most Burmese restaurants in Myanmar.

  • 1/5 Catherine C. 3 years ago on Google
Food was tasty but they overcharged us (Asian foreigner and Western foreigner). Before we ordered, I asked for the prices of some items and was told it was 30 - 40 THB per item. When my Western foreigner husband was paying the bill, we were charged 40 - 50 THB per item. Not a single item was 30 THB as quoted earlier. It was the same waitress who told us the price and got us the bill. The people running this place are dishonest. If you don't like being discriminated against because of your white skin, avoid this place.

One of my regular restuarant coz the food are delicious and not too pricy but I give 3 star because of the low hygienic and staff which are couldn’t speak thai properly so it’s easy to misunderstanding when ordered or asked about menues . There Burmese food is delicious and so many selection that we are still keep exploring around . Thai food is also available .
