We really enjoyed eating here. Very friendly owners and most of all a huge menu with vegetarian and also vegan options if you ask for it. The portions were big and the prices are very good for what you get. I totally recommend paying them a visit and enjoying a good meal with a fresh smoothie! They also offer Thai Cooking Class which we would have done if we had more time in Chiang Mai.

YUMMY KHAO SOI!!!!! In terms of food, ambience and service, everything was a solid 💯💯!!! Except for the mango sticky rice which was really meh. The khao soi is the best one I have had so far in Chiang Mai! I gobbled everythinggggg up, the egg noodles was springy, curry base was so awesome and not too spicy, chicken chunks were generous and very soft 😋🍜, I totally pushed every other dish I ordered away and just focused on this hehehe 🤩👍😊. Also having it with a huge fresh coconut water on the side, with the nice breezy wind blowing and super chill atmosphere, everything was perfect!! 💯🤩❤️ The service was also good. The guy attending to us was very polite and fast. Overall it was a really great experience here. Best Khao soi ever SUPER YUMMY!!! Also can I say that its super affordable? Omg I love Chiang Mai and Thailand forever 🥹.

Nice restaurant, good food, but not spicy. We had green curry and it was really only very little spicy. Drinks were served in funny cups/bowls. Reason for many ratings here could be the free dumplings... But regardless of that, it is still good food. Could be completely full in some times of the day but just wait 5 minutes and you'll get a table.

Absolutely the best Thai restaurant in town! Very cheap price With really good food, portion size and decoration! You won’t feel you are just eating whatever food in the street. 100% the best Thai restaurants I had this time in Chiang Mei! Definitely order the sweet! It is really delicious and big portion! Recommend mango sticky rice with coconut ice cream!!!

Lovely family run restaurant. Food is well priced and tasty. I chose the fish cakes which were perfect. I then chose a chicken massaman and although it tasted great, the potatoes were probably a bit past their best, however this would definitely not put me off from visiting again.

Delicious Thai food with a very affordable price. Especially like the sticky rice served hot, it did level up the taste of the dessert. Would come back to sample other dishes on menu.

My wife and I travelled in Asia for nearly two weeks, and in all honesty our favorite meal of the trip was at the Coconut Shell. Everything about the experience was great. The food was delicious, service was fast, and the prices were incredible. We haven’t stopped talking about this place in the month since we have been back home.

Mango sticky rice was 50b only but mangoes were not sweet at all and rice left much to be desired. Reviews were clearly not as accurate. Pad Thai was not too bad though, so I reckon that’s worth a try. They could’ve provided chili powder or a spicier option to give it more kick. Generally quite enjoyable for this dish. Total damage was 110b for 2 pax — affordable price point but overall quite average for me.

Pad Thai and flat rice noodle was decent, not the tastiest. The khao soy was better and mango sticky rice with coconut ice cream was delicious. Is this place worth waiting a long time for? Probably not.

Simple and reason thai restaurant, every items are just average reasonable but value for money! I highly recommend for those who want quick average thai meal and yet doesn't want to pay so much for typical thai food. The service crews are very responsive and friendly. I did order few dishes but I personally like fry chicken wing...super delicious 🤗😋

I loved the curry and soup so much that I went on their full day cooking class. Wow wow wow I’m so glad I chose them and not anyone else. Our guide Narinrat is so precious and fun and just a fabulous soul. The farm feeling and the ladies working there is so precious. I loved every minute of it and we started it off by having local breakfast after buying ingredients from the market and that on its own deserve a 10 star. the food we cooked is so yummy and they give you the rest to go. Honestly 6 course meal and a full day of you being taken care of by the best people in town is something I’ll never forget and I’ll definitely come back in the future with my loved ones. Not to mention passing by national park and seeing the sticky water fall. Worth every penny. The best in town. Thank you so much for the life changing experience and for also serving the best food in your restaurant ❤️

We came here around 9pm and it was pretty full. They have a lot of fun options. We tried their special - an egg dish topped with some veggies and sausage and their coconut soup with chicken. Both were quite tasty. I especially liked their lemon Thai tea which came in a giant cup. It was delicious and very cold. I actually couldn't finish it and they were nice and gave me a take-away cup. As we were leaving we noticed on the other side of the wall was an empty lot with full of tables with people - they were also serving everyone there! Very impressive.

The place is rather small and looks like a family business. A great variety of food. The staff is generally friendly. We had red and green curry and tom yum. The green curry tasted a bit strange for me, but the rest were very good. The coconut ice cream was very good and it looked like homemade.

Food looks nothing like the pictures on the menu. "Red" curry was brown and sweet like coca cola, and no spice at all. Fried rice didn't look or taste fried. I paid and left after one mouthful. (Also adding a picture of a **real** red curry, which I got from nearby Mama Thai Food, which is 5 stars.) I can only assume the positive reviews for this place are from better days, or from American tourists who like everything sickly sweet. Ending on a good note, the spring rolls were excellent.

Amazing culinary experience in Chiangmai. There are so many dishes to choose from (some of them are typical of the city), all of them are affordable and delicious. The staff is always available and useful. The restaurant is well aired and decorated, although it's a bit small. I suggest you try this little restaurant, it's worth it!!

i visited this restaurant because it is highly rated here but there is nothing I like about this restaurant. Foods are like cheap food court quality and service was horrible. I am assuming that people gave good rate is most likely people who doesn't like spicy kick. Foods here are made very mild so that those people will come. Not recommend to anyone. If you don't like spicy, just ask to make the dish not spicy at other decent restaurants. This restaurant is no no.

Insanely good at very cheap prices. Shakes are the best I’ve had in chiang mai. Come here and get the pork noodles with a fried egg and a shake.

Much better choices for food close by! And only if you like a lot of sugar in your food you should learn Thai cooking here. I'm giving 2 stars because the green curry was nice and I like the coconut bowls and they had vegan option. My friend wanted to go here, half a year after first coming to Thailand and doing cooking class here. Back than, she liked the food, first Thai food she had. She thought it was the best pad thai. I've lived in chiang mai for several years now and she has for 6 months. The pad thai was the worst! (also now she doesn't like it anymore) I asked without sugar, but I could ONLY taste brown sugar in the pad thai! The massaman curry tasted like kao soy. The staff was gossiping about the westerners in Thai. The boss and cooking class guide was grumpy. We felt very unwelcome, the place felt dark and unfriendly. I suggested to my friend to go a bit up the road to 'taste from heaven', but she wanted to go here because she remembered it to be good. But now, knowing thai food, she didn't like coconut shell food anymore and regretted not going to the other restaurant. I understand that a restaurant wants customers to come, eat and leave. They have a sign for that, to please leave and make room for other customers. But that sign only added up to the unwelcoming atmosphere and I'm definitely not going back. We'll go to the other restaurant today and I'll show her what good food and service should be like.

Very good meal, super cheap, service was fast and efficient. We tried the roll for starter, they were not at our taste but the rest was amazing, we had the massaman and the curry with chicken, very tasty. Spicy wise it was ok for us, but it’s always a matter of your taste. This little Kitchen will make you full. I If you still have some space I recommend you the sticky rice here. Very yummy!

This restaurant is conveniently located in an alleyway away from the busy streets of the city. It was super easy to walk to from our hostel. We enjoyed the Papaya Salad, Tom Kha, and Seafood Vermicelli Salad. Our shakes were the best we’ve had in Thailand thus far! You gotta go for the passion fruit one! Last and not least, the Mango Sticky Rice was exquisite. The rice was moist and the mango was super fresh! All in all the presentation was great and the food was some of the best we’ve had during our trip.

A strong 4.5 Stars! Many places in the region seemed touristy so it’s a little hard finding a decent place in the old city. Saw the banner that they also do cooking class as well. For the price, flavor, quantity, I think this place hits it head on. Very glad we tried this compared to some other places nearby. Food/price: we tried Penang curry 50, stir fry basil chicken 50, pad Thai 50, steamed rice 10, mango drink 30, papaya drink 30. Total 220 thb. For the two of us, it’s plenty of food for under $7! This is amazing! The food we liked, they had their distinct taste and flavor. We finished it all, except for the drinks. It was really good at first but after a while, it’s just way too icy and that cup holds a lot! Location/ambiance: conveniently located and easy to find. Around 8 tables or so. When we went in the late afternoon time, we didn’t have to wait. 2-3 other parties eating there when we did.

Descent meal and good value! We had stir fried veggies, stir fried veggie and pork, spring roll, papaya salad, coconut milk shake. The stir fired dishes were tasty but just not as flavorful as I was expecting? The coconut milk shake was the best! Service was good. Once and done on this one.

We arrived 10pm and wanted a vegetarian food. It’s not easy all the time. Here they were willing to replace fish or chicken to tofu. We ordered Pad Thai, Fried rice and a curry. Portions are small, little oily not spicy at all. Pad Thai was dry and clumpy. They immediately gave us some sauce, ground chilli on the side. I am always worried about washing and water quality for salads on the food. We got the coconut for water. Staff were cordial, price was very affordable, we were happy and all worked out well.

This restaurant is fantastic! The most delicious pad thai I've ever had in my life! The khao soi soup is amazing, as well as the papaya salad or the coconut ice cream! I highly recommend it if you're in Chiang Mai, and if you're not, come just for this restaurant!

Definitely a local jewel. Must get the mango sticky rich with coconut ice cream, so good that I totally forgot to take a photo of it. Tom Yum soup is different from what I am used to, but it’s authentic and very good too.

Y'all reading this, need to support this restaurant to stay open. This place is amazing! The Coconut Shell needs to continues to be around! Their foods are unbelievably good, better than the Michelin-starred restaurantswe have gone to eat. It would be sad to lose this place. We couldn't eat anymore, we would've ordered more food. After 5 dishes, we were totally done. Their drinks are gorgeous! The price for the dishes are crazy low!! No MSG in any of the dishes either, that's a big plus. LOVE the small garden for the fresh garnishes. Go eat here and have a fruit blend drinks.

I see many people raving about this restaurant but honestly we’ve had better food in Thailand, no doubt. The waiter didn’t seem too keen either to serve us (we came for lunch) and some of the food tasted too bland for our taste. Certainly still very good value for money but not that we’d come back with many other options still to be tried.

After 25+ visits to Thailand, the food served up at the Coconut Shell is amongst the best I have ever had. Not only are the dishes on offer vast in number, they are extraordinarily cheap (around 50 Baht), the portion sizes are good and the presentation is great too. I liked the Coconut Shell so much that I went two days in a row - sampling different dishes each time. The papaya salad and fish cakes are a great choice of starter, and both the panang and green curries are great as a main. For a dessert, try the mango and sticky rice. It is so colourful here and again only 50 Baht. Very Instagrammable for those that like to photograph their food! The restaurant isn’t very big but the food is absolutely worth waiting for - and it’s always served with a smile by the friendly workforce.

The Khao Soi noodle served in creamy curry coconut broth is very delicious. It has a sweet and spicy taste which complements each other. Portion is big as well. I tried the ginger and chicken stir fry it was not too bad. The place is full of tourists, I prefer going to the local food vendors that don’t speak English forcing you to have to play a game of charades to convey the dish you want. According to their banner they make the best food and fruit shake in Chiang Mai, from my experience, those with the loudest voices generally do not deliver. #BeatTheGrind

Cleanliness...well it's more like imagining a street vendor that happened to put tables and chairs and a covering over it bc when I saw the food waste being emptied and dishes being washed, it didn't look that sanitary. In fact, the most hilarious thing was a foreigner who was waiting to be seated and a cockroach flew on her. Someone pointed it out, then she runs all over the place screaming asking if it's off her. Meanwhile the other foreigners just keep eating and talking like BFD.

Tried all the restaurants nearby - Coconut Shell comes on top. Best shakes, cheap meals with lots of flavor. Any menu is good but favorites are the pad Siew and mango shake.

Everything we had is good enough for the price though we wouldn't say they taste amazing. The mango isn't very sweet but the sticky rice is in a cute heart shape

The service was horrible, the smoothie I got was a banana it was okay. The food was not edible. I ordered spring rolls, they were burnt and soaked in oil. Very disappointed.

Very Average: Service fine; prices and presentation great; food below average. From previous reviews I was expecting more. Wish I had spent elsewhere, but stomach is now full. Notice they have cooking school, but based on the food taste, I won’t go to this cooking school, which is too bad.

(Translated by Google) Um ... I've been watching a lot of choo choo ... I'm not sure why it's a restaurant Morning Glory and squeezed garlic fried chicken. Morning Glory and chicken are just good to eat. I think it was a lot of gel sweating in Thailand The food is really cheap. There's no more than 100 baht and it's usually around 50 baht.

😐 Nothing special about the food but on the expensive side. I’ve tasted way better by a way cheaper price elsewhere. Service is quick and place is overly decorated by artworks. Quite humid as there is only one window & door upon the entrance/exit to ventilate a deep stretch of a restaurant. All these...

👍👍 ***** MasterPeach Star ***** This 3 decades restaurant will never turn you down. They have a lot of Traditional Thai Menus worth trying before you die. The Grilled pork (Moo Sa Tay) menu is a MUST. The curry and coconut taste from the tender pork make it second to none. The squid in the lemon soup i...

👍👍 Excellent place for Thai food! Was very busy when we stumbled across it in the old town: short wait to get a table. There’s an extensive menu with most of the usual suspects - the ones we had were delicious! Especially the spring rolls and aubergines with pork were great. If you’re lucky, you’ll get...
