WARNING: STAFF CAN NOT SPEAK THAI,NORTH language NOR ENGLISH I ordered two dishes and My Thai wife made it clear you fish is she ordered was to be extra spicy. She confirmed only her order was to be extra spicy. The food came to the table and my two dishes were totally covered in dried chili pepper. No spice on her fish dish. Even My Thai wife who loves very spicy food could not eat the food if they served me. We could not even complain because the staff both none of our languages. All she would do was have a stupid smile on her face. Was the worst meal I've experienced in Thailand in six years. On top of that their prices are expensive compared to other open-aired simple old city restaurants. Overall we really regret choosing this restaurant

Very nice atmosphere inside the restaurant. But food qulity was too bad. too oily and taste is not good. Also too expensive compared to other places.

All year went to this restaurant because the price and quality matched each other . The owner raised prices by 20% by updating the menu, forgetting who his main audience is, that he is not a 5-star restaurant, but an authentic Burmese cafe. The prices now are like in a French restaurant with snails. Of course for that money I would go to a comfortable restaurant, not a cafe by the road. By the way, several other Burmese cafes have opened with prices two times lower.

Great place! Had a nice ambiance and the food was very tasty! It was very unique and had depth. The Ner Lung stole the show for us - definitely a place you’d want to check out while in Chiang Mai!

My first time trying Burmese foods, very tasty. I would recommend the tea leaves salad, it’s so delicious. The one point that I don’t give this restaurant 5 stars is that, it took like forever to get the food. Yes, I know that they cooked the food fresh but anyway. There were about 4-5 tables , the restaurant was not full, and we had to wait so long for ur 3 dishes. I really wouldn’t risk going there when we are really hungry. 😅

Wow, we were so satisfied with their Burmese food ! We really like “Moo Oop”, it’s a curry with ginger, tofu, garlic and so on. Could be my 2021 best curry ! “Ner Lung” was a fried meatball, they went with an amazing sauce, probably fresh ginger with herbs. And the dining environment was also comfort and warm. Have to go little bit inside and could see the tables and chairs set in the backyard.

Very interesting restaurant. Good food. Burmese food is different from Thai and is very tasty. Good service in peaceful surroundings. Moderate prices.

Good service and tasty food. I ordered mashed potato and beef curry which is surprisingly good with rice. I have a very sensitive stomach. So far this has been the only restaurant that does not upset my stomach in Chiangmai. I guess the food quality must be good!

Some of the best food I've eaten! After a hot and busy day we needed some nutritious but light food. Took a chance here as we were curious about Burmese food. The owner and staff were very sweet and welcoming. We ordered two fish dishes, one steamed and one stir fried along with rice. Every mouth-full was pure bliss! Watermelon juice and a coconut to go with it. Setting here is tranquil and naturistic with plants, vines and a small pond.

I really recommend this restaurant, we loved it that much that we came back the next day. It was a surprise for us, and we were really happy. The waiter was able to understand us in English and he was very nice. If people want to try something different this is the correct place, we ordered 9 different dishes and all of them were great.

This was the great food find on our five day trip to the city. As a vegetarian I was impressed with the range and the quality of the veggie food options. Salads are amazing. We recommend the yam tua (broadbean). I had the Hinlay curry ... it was so so tasty. Pleasant ambience, friendly staff, good proportions, amazing quality ... I expected a bill to be far much higher than it was.

A favourite restaurant of ours when we visit Chiang Mai. The food is delicious. We usually choose from the Burmese food on the menu. It has similarities to Thai food, enough differences to make it interesting. Service is always good. The garden like atmosphere is a welcome change in a busy city. Happy to eat here again.

Great and special food! Healthy raw salads with nuts and spiced very differently- Birma Style. I really enjoyed this restaurant. Best choices for me: the salads. Spicy, with nuts and crispy beans/lentils.

It’s embarrassing the food quality. I had the worst beef curry in Chiang Mai. I had around ten dishes shared with 4 of us. They all complained the food quality was not good. 🤨 Restaurant was rated 4.5/5. However we review this restaurant as 2.4/5

Stumbled across this place while wandering around and came in based on other reviews, what a find!!! It was very quiet when we came (a Tues afternoon) but don't let that put you off, every dish was spectacular, especially the green tea salad, I won't forget that in a hurry!!! Love it! Go here!

Get the tea leaf salad, fish soup (like Tom Yum but slightly more sour) and one other item of your choice. Forget Nimman, this is one of my favorite places in Chiang Mai. Pretty reasonable prices too at ~100+ baht per dish. Inside is nice and staff is friendly. Don't forget the tea leaf salad!!

We went out to The Swan the other day and it the food was just amazing, the restaurant is nice and open and relaxed. The food is some of the best Burmese food in Chiang Mai. Each dish had great taste and varied flavors.

Nice cafe with nice atmosphere & lots of plants & Thai furniture. The food was resonantly proved. They charge a surcharge here which is fair enough but I'd prefer to Tip voluntarily & if the food & service achieves that. The food was nicely presented but not very spicy. I had a Burmese curry which was a bit bland. I was surprise at the lack of kick or wow in the food. However I will go back & try some of the other dishes. Overall 3 stars with room for improvement.

We went for a birthday dinner. It’s was a great choice for a celebration. Party of 7 ordered 12 dishes to share. Did not have time to take photos because as dishes arrived and they looked so yummy we had to eat. It’s now on our good eats list for Chiang Mai. Our cost averaged out at 254 baht each. Value for money The gentleman serving us was very pleasant and helpful. Please note they do have a couple of cats. 🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛ Friendly Some of the dishes we had and enjoyed. Lar pat toke -green tea leaf salad Alu town -potato + tomatoes Gar jii gai Stir-fried noodles +chicken Meatball chicken and meatballs Tofu Steamed fish.

We loved the food here so much that we came back for a second night in a row. The food is fresh and full of flavour. We particularly liked the tomato salad and eggplant salad (although all the meat dishes we had were fabulous too!). Service was good as well. Would be a good option for vegetarians as lots of plant based dishes available.

It was one of highlights in Chiang Mai. Unfortunately we eat everything before I released to take the fotos, so we came second time. Picture is not really expressing all of the taste, but it was really really good! Enjoy and discover Burmese cuisine at this place! Definite recommendation!

We ate here once for lunch then again for dinner. There are three distinct areas, not just the obvious front area close to a busy road. We ate in the middle area which is garden like. They don't take cards but do serve decent wine and gin and tonic as well as the ubiquitous beer. We loved the food, the meatballs and salads were particularly good. With a couple of drinks each the bill came to less than 800 ThB. The food did not take long at all.

Per what the other reviews have stated, the tea leaf salad is amazing. The textures and dressing used set it apart from other salads, it tasted delicious, and was a refreshing change from others. The mashed potatoes was also really good, and I could have eaten a bowl of just that. The meatballs were okay. They were a bit dry, and the sauce was a bit overpowering in terms of spice, and it was not rounded out by any other flavors. The beef curry was only okay as well. The beef was dry, but the flavor was good. The mango sticky rice was also not up to snuff, the rice was tough and bland.

(Translated by Google) Coincidentally, we came to this inconspicuous restaurant "The Swan" on the city moat: I myself was never very enthusiastic about Burmese cuisine. Well, that has changed significantly since yesterday - not only because the selection of vegetarian dishes was very large, but also because everything that we were served yesterday was fresh and delicious. - Maybe the pineapple shakes, which are enriched with plenty of gin, - because the vodka was just all - underlined this enthusiasm for Burmese. The furnishings, the furniture, as if placed by chance, put you in a Far Eastern trance. We all liked the traditional place very much - a real feel-good experience!

Never had tried Burmese food before prior to this restaurant so I can't speak to the accuracy of flavor, but that said, everything was very delicious. The potato and tomato dish was an excellent appetizer. The quality of ingredients did not disappoint and the dishes themselves were all very delicious. I ate here two times because I had liked it so much. Definitely would recommend if you want something you can't find back home. Also, very reasonable prices and relaxing atmosphere. My only small complaint would be that although the ambience is very nice, the fountains and standing water in the exotic plants are a good place for mosquitoes to hang out too. Douse yourself in mosquito spray before dinner and have a taste of Burma. Service met expectations as well so definitely no complaints in that department. 8/10

The tree leave salad is amazing!!!! Totally would’ve come again just for that salad Mango sticky rice and fried meat balls are good picks too! However, the cucumber/ cabbage served with fish dipping sauce was terrible, the sauce was way too salty and spicy, to be honest, can’t really tastes anything in that sauce except salt and chili : (

Promised more .......... maybe next time. My visit was good, but not very good. Service was OK, plenty of basic tables and chairs to use, inside and out. Interesting decor and garden features. My meal - a chicken 'Wan Tete' - was good and very fiery. My drink, a 'nam maneau' was terrible and I would have appreciated a larger, better tasting one to complement the meal. An interesting menu and I will return. On this visit, it seemed not so much Burmese, as an interesting south east Asian concoction - and in this case, good.
