Was excited to try this restaurant hoping for something great but did not really get what I expected. Taste was ok but many things perhaps already been prepared and just microwaved and served rather than made in the kitchen. It feels like visiting a fast food place. The cheese, condiments, no hot sauce served. Jalapeno pickles in a jar was not bad tho. Space is good, they have their own parking lot.

This food is disgusting. We got nachos, a quesadilla and a burrito delivered. The nachos barely had any cheese and the tortilla chips were way over-fried. The quesadilla had a weird aftertaste - not sure what they put in it. The burrito had no flavor and little meat. Salsa Kitchen isn't great but it's way better than this place.

Miguel’s is a solid choice for Mexican (Tex-Mex) food in Chiang Mai. The menu has all the favorites, and their margaritas are very good. They have both soft shell tacos and hard shell tacos as well (relatively rare in Chiang Mai). Miguel’s will not blow you away, but you will not be disappointed. As a follow-up.... I had a look at some of the negative reviews, and I can say that I have not experienced any of the reported problems in any of my dozen or so visits. Funny that some say food microwaved and delivered in 60 seconds, others say service slow and food took forever... so which is it? This is not going to be refined Mexican food, so people have to go in with that expectation. It's good, basic, Tex Mex and our service has always been good every time. The owner has clearly asked for more feedback on the 'mean' reviews, and I think he deserves honest answers. Miguel's has served the Chiang Mai community for a long time and survived COVID (so far), so please do not be put off by the several 1 star reviews (competitors?)

Wow!! Miguel's exceeded my expectations! I am from Texas with a Mexican family and I have high standards for Mexican food. This is the best Tex-Mex I have had on this side of the globe. The restaurant is adorable with a great patio decorated with a gorgeous and impressive succulent garden. There are beautiful Mexican murals with all the colors of Mexico painted to inspire your senses. The tequila was delicious and the food so fresh and flavorful! It fulfilled my need for home food. The music was dancy and made me feel at home. The service was wonderful and their understanding of Spanish and English was a delightful surprise. This is a true gem in Chiang Mai and is a must for anyone who adores Mexican or Tex-Mex food. I will be coming here as often as I can whenever I'm in Chiang Mai. On a side note, I never feel it's fair to rate a restaurant on take out when using a 3rd party service like Grab or Food Panda. Someone else has handled your food and it's usually on the back of a speedy motor bike flying and swerving through traffic and going over bumps and potholes before it gets to your hands. Come to the restaurant yourself if you want to rate a place.

I did not really enjoy my time here. The place is very well decorated but has no atmosphere. It’s so close to the road that the loud sound of traffic is covering the music all the time. My watermelon shake was REALLY sweet and didn’t taste like fresh fruit. I had a combo plate, the 3 amigos, and even if the taste was ok it didn’t look good. The plate was boiling hot and it felt like the whole food has just been microwaved. My boyfriend really enjoyed his nachos and the dessert (wedding biscuit + cinnamon ice cream) was very good tho. The waitress was nice but the woman appearing to be the manager didn’t smile once in the whole night. I work in catering so I understand we all have bad days but that doesn’t change my experience at Miguel’s.

It had been three years since my last visit and the food was still amazing. Ordered the chips and guacamole, chips and salsa, and multiple tacos across two visits. The beef tacos are naturally a little spicy and the shredded chicken tacos are not. Every meal you can add their homemade salsa to whatever you're eating but just beware it comes with a kick. They give you a decent amount of chips with each order and I personally loved their pico style salsa as it comes with bold non-spicy flavors that helps mix up the meal. Definitely recommend this place if you're looking for some Mexican food and a break from Thai food during your travels.

FANTASTIC!!! This Tex-Mex style Mexican restaurant is sooooo delicious! Every dish is fantastic. The portions are very large so you will leave completely satisfied. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Good prices for how much you get. Highly recommend this restaurant in Chiang Mai. I’ll be going back all the time. Pictures include their Chicken Enchilada, Beef Taco Salad, Taquitos and Corn Tortilla Soup!

Staff, location and atmosphere were nice. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the food which was the most important thing. I was excited to go because I saw some good reviews here. The biggest issue for me was that the food came very spicy, way too spicy for my liking. I wish they hadn't seasoned it so heavily and would just let me decide for myself how much spicy sauce I would put in my food. I couldn't finish the food because I couldn't handle it. Mexican food is one of my favourite cousins but this is the first time that it was served sooo spicy. I wonder if they want to save the cost by not serving any spicy sauce but just add it in from the kitchen al On top of that, guacamole tasted pretty bad with weird aftertaste like it was made of overripe avocado that was very close to being spoiled. It was my first time here and I hate to give a business a 3 star rating. Next time if I ever go back I will just ask them to not put any spicy sauce on my food at all and just serve it separately.

Just okay, small portions

Have been wanting to go to Miguel's for a while, and tonight, we completely enjoyed every aspect of our dinner. The chips, taco shells, guacamole, Pico d Gallo, and probably others are made daily in the restaurant. I love Mexican food, and I could tell, but I asked anyway. We started with chips, guac, and pico. It was a beef night, and the rancheros enchilada was fantastic. The 3 beef tacos were packed to the top, almost no room for quac or refried beans. The Steak Chimichanga finished our meal. I ordered it wet, which added enchilada sauce and melted cheese ... SO GOOD. I will return and I definitely recommend if you like Mexican food or if you want to try Mexican food for the first time.

This place was just as expected, clean, good service, and great Mexican food. I ordered chips with fresh pico de giao, chips were crisp and the pico was delicious. Next up 3 hard shell beef tacos, the shells stayed crisp, the beef was well seasoned, and the toppings were fresh. Then 1/2 rice 1/2 refried beans. I definitely didn't need these as I had plenty of food, but was glad I had them. The Mexican spice was good throughout all the food. Huge list of margaritas available.

A bit under spiced for true Mexican dishes. lacking cumin and Mexican oregano in the rice and beans are pretty bland. Enchiladas could have used some roasted chopped green chili.

Your portions when ordering thru TUK are tiny, I ordered 3 combo enchiladas cheese, infact there was more onions the actually cheese, not small enchilada but tiny, a bit of rice and some refried beans, definitely not worth the price. the fajitas portions are decent, but that's just it... there are other options in the city for a lower price... when someone order food for delivery the portions should be the same size as in shop, many restaurants are doing this.

I used to live there and ate there often. I am now in Bangkok hoping soon to come back for a few visits and your great food. Love it.

Was very much looking forward to eating Mexican food, but everything we ordered lacked sufficient flavor. Pulled pork nachos were very dry. For the price, I wish they would put more effort into seasoning the dishes.

Miguel's has more of the slow cooked Mexican spice flavour than other CM Mexican restaurants. Huevos rancherosa good example :)

Really solid “gringo” Mexican food! My partner and I were stoked to find this place just a few blocks from our hotel. The flour tortillas are made in house and delicious. The food was well made and fresh and the margaritas were STRONG! 10/10 recommend for a nice break from Thai food.

It's a good little Mexican themed restaurant in the northeast corner of the moat. Very popular amoung tourists. The food if good but not great and slightly expensive. I would reccomend giving it a try if your in the area as it definitely fills you up (the portions are huge). Nice restaurant!

Decent Mexican option. Have been several times and the food has always been good. They do offer corn options instead of flour tortillas where possible. The portions are quite large but reasonable considering price. The refried beans are always tasty but the consistency seems to vary. Service is friendly, a bit slow at times but good overall. They do seem to run out of certain things regularly but they are busy so probably why.

Traveling the world we often try Mexican food as a change of pace and a reminder of home. Miguel's advertised authentic and actually delivered. The salsa was very good! we also ordered guacamole and after adding a bit of salt it tasted like home. We had combo plates and the tacos and enchiladas tasted great. Very impressed. It was like being back in small town Texas.
