We had the most exquisite experience here at Redbox Dining Room having their Journey Across Asia tasting menu. First of all we took the risk of arriving without a reservation but were the only ones there and were sat immediately with no issue. The staff goes above and beyond for your comfort, happiness, and top-tier tasting experience. They are informative about each dish (how to eat and the ingredients) and everything comes out quickly (in total we were here for about 1.5 hours). Beautiful restaurant located on a quiet road surrounded by lush greenery. Absolutely everything we tasted, every course, blew us away with how flavorful and thoughtful it was. The Siam Ruby dessert is a must-try if it’s on the menu! There are few places I’ve been where the price tag felt worth it for the experience and taste but this was an exception. Redbox was worth every dollar and we may even return one more time before leaving Chiang Mai. I highly recommend having dinner here while in town!

Among the best restaurants in Chiang mai, of not the best. It is located in a traditional house very close to maya mall. But in a completely peaceful soi. The menu is full of high cuisine thai style dishes It has also 2 set menus, one of them vegetarian The dessert siam rubi is an amazing dish ranked 2nd in Thailand

We stopped by for lunch while in Chaing Mai looking for a memorable meal - we were certainly not disappointed. The restaurant itself is a conversion of a beautiful old house looking into a lovely private garden. Conservatively but tastefully decorated it feels intimate but not compacted. The cocktails were stunning both in their visual presentation and tasty! Try them all 😃 Food was perfectly prepared, just right portion sizes, delightful presentation, and delicious! The chicken satay was superb! The service was really something to mention - the wait staff were excellent, very knowledgeable, and very attentive, but not that annoying loitering over your shoulder type. Dan the chef spent many years in some great restaurants in Sydney before returning to Thailand to build his own high end restaurant. He has created the best fine dining restaurant in Chiang Mai. Well worth a visit!

Food was amazing! Had the lamb and my friend had the duck. Both were very tasty. The coconut cake had the perfect consistency and the recommended Uganda ice cream was fabulous. Great food and atmosphere.

If you are looking for a relaxed fine dining experience in Chiang Mai this is the place! The entire staff is so knowledgeable and kind and the food is excellent. We were never unattended, so well taken care of and made us feel so special. The chef even came out to wish us congratulations on our honeymoon and give us some info about the cuisine and restaurant. This was our favorite meal in all of Thailand! Go here, you won’t regret it!

IT WAS NOT JUST FOOD. IT IS A SYMPHONY OF FLAVOURS! My husband booked a table for us as a surprise for my birthday. The experience is just marvellous, they make you feel special, especially when you see your name on their board upon arrival. We had the tasting menu of a 5 courses meal for dinner. Everything was not just beautiful and it taste as good as it looks. Very smart to have local ingredients and Thai flavours into the dishes. Simply mind blowing. As a chef myself, respect for the chef that making the Thai flavour screams in your mouth but yet, keep the flavour of the ingredient. The layers of the flavours, it dances on your tongue. Cocktail menu is unique and definitely the best cocktails I ever had in Thailand. If you’re not into alcohol, they can make all the cocktail alcohol free for you as well. Try the Malai and Citrus butterfly. Citrus Butterfly is my favourite, it has an ingredient which you can never imagine to be used in cocktail. Wanna know what is it? Make a reservation now! And I even got a birthday gift! How sweet!

They want to be luxurious but they have no idea how to be one. The food is ok, nothing special or memorable especially the dish that they got a Michelin guide for it. I have tried many Michelin guide restaurants in Chiang mai and I think this is the worst one and the most overpriced one. We went to get lunch at four seasons a day before coming here and this place ended up costing the same as four seasons with far worse experience. It took us an hour and a half to wait for the food after we ordered. And the whole experience of being there is just lame, I expect it to be special but the experience there is just simply not nice. The house look beautiful from the outside that’s all. It would make more sense if they feature in Gordon Ramsey’s kitchen nightmares. ** to reply to the restaurant’s comment we ordered 3 dishes + 1 box of cookie and water. The total is 2398. Somehow they just assume that we are waiting for another person after we already ordered and it took us so long to wait for our food. And all they ask was would you like to keep waiting and we said yes. So turned out they thought we are waiting for another person ???? And they didn’t even apologize before we leave. Their chicken taste warm outside and cold inside. I have the worst dining experience here.

Our group enjoyed an evening here. I have to admit I would have rather had a coursed menu of the chefs “hits”. The menu is large and it’s hard to know what you’d be missing out on from dish to dish. I’d also have to admit I found it to be on the pricy side. We hadn’t any alcohol and our bill with tip was 8000 baht for 4 people and I wasn’t full. Food was great but many familiar flavours.

The Flair Without The Wait Thank you for serving a sumptuous dinner fpr the family within 1 hour and with flair. Food served promptly rather than those artificial wait in some posh restaurant. Had it been longer, my four year old would have demolished the shop and brought your cutlery home. I love the lamb dish and the salted fish fried rice. Neatly presented and not pretentious. Hope all goes well. RT 20/5/22

Incredible modern Thai food! It was for sure one of the best restaurants we ate in Thailand. It was great to have something a bit different from all the other good restaurants. The chef came to talk to us and he was super nice. Same with the service. Cocktails were insanely good. Totally recommendable!

The food here was amazing, and manages to bring out the flavour of Southeast Asia, highlighted by the fresh ingredients. Definitely recommended especially for non-natives. Don't forget to order their signature dessert, the Siam Ruby for a breathtaking finale to the meal!

We tried the Michelin rated dishes and they do live up to the expectations. I loved the prawn with salted egg one especially when added with a tinge of lemon. The Thai Ruby dessert was delicious especially when eaten with the crunchy bit below. The presentation is great and served as a great end to the meal. We also ordered the smoked duck which is juicy. It's above average in my opinion. The satay/chicken skewers however is a bit under par as it doesn't have much 'char' to it. The peanut sauce is good though. The service and atmosphere was great and is expected of a Michelin rated restaurant.

I can not recommend this restaurant enough. Easily the best meal I have ever had in my life. DO NOT skip the dessert “Siam Ruby” it is a must. I had the Smoked Duck and it was cooked to perfection. We also ordered some appetizers and drinks but you can’t go wrong with anything you order here. The Chef came out at the end and was extremely inviting and really tied in the whole experience. If you have the time and your considering a nice night out, you will have the best meal in your life!

I've heard about Redbox for a while but just had a chance to try last night. Very impress of the foods and drinks quality, also friendly service. Every dish came in beautiful presentation along with new experience authentic taste. The variation of wine lists gave me a surprise. I would like to try set menu with paring wine next time.

It was a celebratory dinner on our last day of Chiang Mai vacation and we went to explore the food at Red Box. For my dinner I strated off with Prawn with Salted Egg, then to Cream of Chicken Soup. The presentation of the food was as crafty as its taste. The combination of salted egg with the perfectly fried and sized river prawns was indeed very appetizing. The table top presentation of the chickens soup with infused coconut milk was also very nice, though I would have preferred the soup to be a little warmed than how it was served. For my mains I had the chef recommended Lamb Cutlets in curry sauce and had it paired with pumpkin brioche topped with caviar. While the sauce of the cutlet was very nice, parts of the lamb cutlets (though I ordered medium) were quite chewy and hard to cut. For deserts I had the the modern version of Thai golden fingers crushed on top of scoop of home made coconut icecream and some sweet sauce trapped into a smokey flavor. It was one of the finewat mover desert I had tried in recent times. Finally the chef's personal attention to the diners was praiseworthy. Over all a very nice experience indeed and should we be back to Chiang Mai again, for sure we'll try to drop by here.

My wife and I just stumbled on Redbox during our recent visit to Chiangmai. Because of the COVID situation (sadly), we were able to just walk in and get a table. The restaurant is on a quiet soi, and occupies the lower level of a lovely Thai style house. The staff were all very warm and friendly. We started with spinach soup and lobster bisque, both of which were velvety and delicious. Next we had the chicken satay and carpaccio beef. The chicken was tender and juicy, with a nice smoky flavor. My wife enjoyed the beef (which she ordered “spicy” because she’s Thai!). Also tried the buttered prawns, which were quite good. For main course, we had the panang lamb chops. We liked that the panang spices were not too strong, which allowed the flavor of the lamb to come through. The Siam Ruby dessert was a particular treat, unlike any dessert I have ever had. The smoke infusion of the coconut ice cream, plus the crispy “soil” and little Thai cookies (I forget what they are called), together with the Malaysian palm sugar syrup for drizzling over everything, all come together to make a flavor and texture explosion in the mouth. Superb! We had a nice chat with Chef Dan afterward, and he recommended an Italian restaurant for us, because my wife had mentioned that I like Italian food. Looking forward to our next opportunity to visit Redbox again and bring family with us!

After visiting every street market in Chiang Mai; I had to at least visit a Michelin restaurant to compare their flavors. The Redbox was a Thai Contemporary cuisine with a twist of Malaysian ingredients. It was one of kind unique experience, amazing service & very detailed in their dishes from beginning to end. Make sure to do a reservation. Upon arrival; whoever made the reservation they have your name set up front (very much appreciated; made us feel extra special). We tried a little bit of everything. Make sure to try their signature cocktail & dessert. Wine list is on point for wine lovers! Highly recommended!

It was pretty average. Non of the dishes were outstanding. Satay chicken starter was ok but had better at fraction of price. Carpaccio beef was weird and drenched in fish sauce, not to my taste at all. Panang lamb was a little chewy and small portion but pleasant enough. Wine was good. Ambiance was good But for 4500 baht I definitely expected more. At least 50% over priced in my opinion, not sure when they were in Michelin guide but maybe they have rested on their laurels a little.

Very elegant and beautiful restaurant with welcoming Thai people. I have to say I just looked for a place to eat in Chiang Mai and sorted the results by best reviewed. It came up that it was a Michelin type of restaurant and the quality is top! The people serving there are really friendly and welcoming! Totally recommend this place to anyone who comes to Chiang Mai.

Redbox Thailand Restaurant is one of the most exquisite restaurants with five star cuisine. We ate there twice during our visit to Chiang Mai. The restaurant staff are warm, welcoming and wonderful. The decor is fabulous as is the soft, elegant piano music playing in the background. Each course served is a beautiful work of art, with flavors that are beyond belief. It was impossible to choose a favorite- each one stood out. This restaurant is a “must go to” for any trip to Chiang Mai. Special thanks to the chefs and all who made our meals and our experiences so wonderful.

Mind. Blown. Found this little hidden gem in the middle of a residential area. We did a last minute google search and was so amazed that this was here. Great food- the type of less usual style found in the streets or other restaurants. Get the lotus roots starters and the Tae Tarik & Lavender en Provence left us wanting to try all the drinks. Drinks are all available in mocktail form.

Classy restaurant located in a quiet soi. Impeccable surroundings, food and service. Thai/Asian fusion cuisine thoughtfully prepared and presented. From looking at the plates of other diners, seems like no bad choices. My order was Crisp Lotus Root and Crispy Pork. Both delicious. Well made cocktails, the Old Fashioned was spot on and perhaps the best one I've ever had.

Good food that is more fusion than Thai. Although everything we had was tasty, my biggest issue is that the food quality did not justify the price. It's a good experience but overpriced.

One of the best meals in Chiang Mai We read the rave review and decided to make a reservation in advance. Lovely restaurant in an old refurbished building. It is Michelin recommended and deserved. Service Dining were on point and the location/building superb. Impeccable experience! Great food, service and overall experience. The chef made sure we had an intimate experience. Food was a great tour in the traditional Thai cuisine but with a completely modern presentation bring new elements too. The restaurant is super cozy and well located and Chiang Mai. We definitely recommend this restaurant, their cuisine is absolutely in the same level of other Michelin star restaurants in Thailand such as LeDu. I will definitely come back to this restaurant any time and enjoy their tasting menu and paring

Embark on a Culinary Adventure at The RedBox Dining Room in Chiang Mai: Where Flavor Meets Fantasy! Wow, dinner at The RedBox was like a super-duper taste party! The food was so awesome – like magic in my mouth! Chef Dan and Pimmada are food wizards, making Thailand, Malaysia, and Brunei flavors dance together. Guess what? The Siam Ruby dessert was like eating a sweet cloud, and the special drink was like a tasty rainbow! The place is cozy, and you need to book a spot because it's a tiny treasure. They have cool stuff like air conditioning and a nice terrace. And guess what again? They have special menus for veggie lovers like me! Eating at The RedBox is like going on a happy food adventure. It's so, so good – you should go and try it because it's fantastically delicious!

(Translated by Google) Very good service Unfortunately, the satay looks like it's grilled and then reheated from the microwave (or not) because it's hot but not hot because of grilling. Understandable, because the thigh and thigh meat is difficult to understand. As a restaurant chef in Australia, I solved this kind of problem, but will repeat the grill again, and will not be served at this price. But if the shop insists We apologize, it is a new grill technique that the food comes out very hot but does not smell burnt. Duck breasts are a great creativity by separating elements from the red duck curry and serving them in a new way. This one is impressive, but Sod still insists it is Red Duck Curry. Delicious coconut ice cream with strong price For the service very impressed The only reason to go back and eat is not food. But as a service (Original)

Mediocre food at exorbitant prices. Was charged 2,000thb (60usd!) For water!!!! (Without ever being told). For a group of 9 people.... 2000thb..... 420thb for chicken satay that was below average.... We had to order a day in advance and the food still took an hour to be delivered. They then asked if we wanted the check split which took 45 minutes before giving up and splitting it ourselves. If you are going to charge these prices then you're better deliver. The staff is nice.

A trip to Chiang Mai is incomplete without eating here. Chef Dan's plates are absolutely incredible - well deserving of the Michelin recognition he has received. We loved everything we ate. It was all perfect. The chicken satay appetizer, truffle ice cream soup, fried morning glory, lamb panang, and dessert were all out of this world. You would be making a huge mistake not eating here.

My wife and I are honeymooning in Chiang Mai and we loved Redbox!. The atmosphere is very welcoming; Chef Dan has turned this homey venue into a haven for Contemporary Thai fine dining. Attention to detail from the welcome, to the impeccable service and menu recommendations, we greatly enjoyed our experience. We had the crispy lotus and chicken satay to start, then curry smoked duck and battered prawns. Wow. Everything was amazing. Thank you for such a memorable evening!

(Translated by Google) Arriving a little late on Sunday night, the restaurant is quiet and comfortable, the food is very hot, the drinks are distinctive and delicious, the food is first-rate, everything will not overheat, and it is very good with the food, especially the salad, do not miss it. The waiter gave a basic introduction to each kind of food and restaurant. The chef traveled around, added the local ingredients to the menu, and used the local fresh organic herbs and vegetables. Although the price is a bit expensive in the local area, it is also worth it. Give it a try.

👍👍 Tried the Khao soy here since it’s on the Michelin guide. Went on a Friday around 12.30, was able to get a seat immediately. I got a beef Khao soy (thb50) the meat was tender and melts in the mouth. The fried bits on top was crispy and went well with the coconut base soup. Overall it was a good meal...

👍👍 Love the extensive menu they have. All the dishes I ordered were tasty with high quality ingredients. Prepare to leave with your clothes having a wonderful cooked meal smell though, as the while pla...
