The meal tasted good overall, except for the tandoori chicken. It wasn't terrible, actually, but something just felt off. Minutes after I left the restaurant I started feeling queasy. The following day was mainly spent at the toilet or in bed feeling sick. The owner did tell me to review the restaurant on Google Maps as I left. I went to the restaurant because of the unusually high rating, so leaving this here for a more accurate assessment.

Some of the very best Indian/Pakistani food I have ever had, and at an extremely affordable price as well! Peshawar is a hidden gem! 🤩 We ordered several things from the menu: cardamom lassi, cumin lassi, chicken kashmir, beef keema, garlic naan, cheese naan and basmati rice! It even came with a complimentary side salad…and despite this being quite a lot of food for even 2 people, it added up to less than the price of a 1-person meal in the United States! The chicken kashmir and beef keema were EXTREMELY good. I would highly recommend them. We ordered them not spicy and they were just so wonderfully-seasoned, the flavor just exploded in your mouth. They tasted so good! The garlic naan was good, classic garlic naan (exactly what you’d expect), and the cheese naan was way better than I expected! It was filled with a unique, slightly-sweet cheese and was such a great addition to the chicken kashmir. The lassi drinks were very interesting as well! I have never had anything like them - but the fact Peshawar was able to blend these spices into a yogurt drink and make it actually work was extremely impressive to me! Well done; I will definitely try more of the unique lassi flavors next time I visit! All in all, this is a splendid restaurant. Any time I visit Chiang Mai in the future, I’ll be heading here at least once (maybe even twice depending on how long I am in town for). I suggest all visitors do the same! Definitely give this restaurant a shot! You will not be disappointed!!

Great Pakistani/Indian food at very affordable prices! We ordered the lamb saagwala, chicken karahi, naan, and rice. Chicken karahi was perfectly spiced, the lamb/mutton dishes include bone, so it was not a ton of meat, but still really tender and delicious. I am always on the lookout for a place with fluffy naan and this place has it!

Mutton Vindaloo~ Honestly one of the best tasting things I've ever eaten in my life. I asked for a mutton dish that was very spicy and it did not disappoint. Flavour was out of this world, I'm coming back tomorrow. The little salad they served me as well was really good. Thanks!

Great family run restaurant, excellent food. We ordered butter chicken, vegetable curry, fish biryani, and stir fried morning glories. Everything tasted amazing and the family was so warm and welcoming! The restaurant is located in a neighborhood alley but easy to find as it’s right in front of a popular hotel. Will be going back for dinner tonight.

We Shahzad malik, Umer khitab, Jibran and Hammad are here in Thailand for a visit. First we visit Bangkok and some other places. Now we are here in Chiang Mai District. There is a restaurent named Peshawar Restaurent, kind of hard to find but absolutely worth it because the food was amazing and reminded us of authentic food from home. The owner is really friendly and made sure everything we ordered we were satisfied with. Highly recommend this place.

Last night had some amazing Pakistani styled mutton masala, bhindi masala (okra/ladyfinger), tandori roti's and masala chai (not to be missed)! It was a trip worth to the small restaurant run by a very friendly Pakistani-Thai couple. I was the only customer upon arrival, as they are also impacted by the downside of covid19, but was recieved warmly. The food was cooked after my order was placed to my liking of spices. The mutton was absolutely delicious, soft and melting in my mouth! After a long time, have I enjoyed such mutton texture. I intend to go back and enjoy more dishes if possible during my stay in Chiang Mai. Anyone missing some good mutton dishes should make a trip here for sure! 👌👍😋😋😋

We had butter chicken and a nice small talk with the owner. I ate a lot of butter chicken in Europe and US but all of them tasted differently than this one but still it was very very tasty. It wasn't bad but different from what I expected. I guess I'd need to travel to India to find out how it is supposed to taste 🤣

Beware! I got bad stomach bug from eating here yesterday. Only ordered hummus and naan with cadamom lassi. On hindsight, hummus looked old and unappetizing with ordinary vegetable oil floating on top. Lassi was too sweet. Menus and table probably never cleaned since shop opened!

I had great food my first time. The second time all three dishes tasted terrible. I ordered sweet lassi and got salty. The aloo mutter was horribly spiced and so greasy it was absurd.

One of the best Hala food restaurants in Chiang Mai, there aloo mutter ki sabzi, paneer masala, and daal were exceptionally amazing. Tried bbq fish and masala fish also, which is also fantastic. The tea always kept us going there. The owner of the restaurant Zafar bhai was very hospitable. He also took guided us and took us to Doi Suthep Mountain in Thailand. Hope to see him again soon and enjoy the food again.

Excellent Pakistani Halal food. We had mutton Karahi and Channa masala and were left licking our fingers. We also order garlic naan and Lassi and those were fantastic too. The only thing they need to work on is the atmosphere and the vibe. Its too desi for Thailand. Otherwise must go for anyone looking for scrumptious Pakistani/Indian food.

I was so excited to try this restaurant but unfortunately it was a big disappointment. After reading a lot of positive reviews on tandoori chicken, I decided to order this dish and as you can see in the pictures, one thigh was very dry, almost like dried meat (which shows that it is not fresh at all) and another not well cooked and still rare. It proves that they were not cooked at the same time ! Unfortunately I was only able to see this after eating a good portion… I showed this to the waiter, he agreed with my remarks and told me : « Yes it’s overcooked, yes it’s not cooked sorry » , nothing more. It really saddened me because I really wanted to come back and try several dishes on the menu... it’s a shame!

I came to Peshawar because of the reviews. I live in Phuket and Indian food is expensive. Peshawar is not expensive and the quality is good. I had: Chicken vindaloo, Beef biryani, Chana masala, Watermelon shake and 2× Roti for 520b. I couldn’t eat it all so I had to takeaway the left overs.

I travel a lot for both work and pleasure. I also spent two months in India. I always say that the best Indian food I have ever had was in Rotorua, New Zealand, though. Now I am staying in Chiang Mai, Thailand and I discovered Peshawar restaurant with Indian/Pakistani food.. The meal is absolutely delicious! I am vegan. I have tried dhal, humus and nan several times. Simply amazing! All the family are lovely. Highly recommended! Do not miss this place while staying in Chiang Mai!

This place is no longer at the location shown here. It is now in Soi 1 off Loi Kroh Road, just along from the No 1 Bar. But I'm unable to change it, and can only comment here. No frills - I've never ordered pappadoms, chutneys etc. Just straightforward, Indian style food, service (friendly) and decor (pretty basic, and reminds me very much where Indians eat in the Middle East. The food is delicious and wholesome, and very reasonable. Mango lassi, garlic naan and their gorgeous mixed vegetable curry (vegetables vary according to season) for B180 can't be bad. I doubt the food will disappoint! The menu has so any pages as to make copying here impracticable. It might be a bit downmarket for you though...
