Very iconic statues of three famous kings from many hundred years ago. Also, a school, a museum, and a government house are nearby as well as many restaurants in the back.

Three Kings Monument is located in front of the Chiang Mai City Arts and Culture Center (Former Payap Provincial Government Hall). Phaya Mangrai is in the middle as the president. Phaya Ruang (King Ramkhamhaeng the Great) was on the left. And the Phaya Ngam Muang was on the right.

This is a public monument, so you can tour around the vicinity without any fees. I'm not sure about entering inside the cultural and historical center if there is an entrance fee.

A nice square, with a beautiful, historic statue. Worth a quick look if you’re in the area - there is also a stunning Wat next to the monument.

This is a popular spot... Recommend it as a good meet up location if you are connecting with the rest of your friends or tour group. Under blazing direct sun this was a really warm open plaza with the 3 Kings monument in the center.

There's the monument of the sculptures from 3 Kings who ruled the North. The first one was the King Ramkhamhaeng who established the wellknown City Sukhothai. The second one was the King Mungrai who established the city Chiang Rai and thereafter Chiang Mai. And the other was the King Ngam Muang who established the city Payao. They went to school by Kmer in Lopburi and had leaned the civilization and technology from the Kmer. together. They had discussed how to built up the city of Chiang Mai.

Nice urban plaza in the Old City. Nothing spectacular except for the amount of waste left behind by local offerings to the statue. Surrounding streets and area are beautiful, you might as well check this out while you are walking around.

It's a plaza and statue but history and art museums adjacent. They aren't great but fairly interesting history. The statue is good, the area attracts skateboarders at night. If you need to "Ollie" in CM, this is your spot

I have visited this place twice, in the night weekend and in the midday weekday. I really enjoyed it when it was midday on a weekday because it was not crowded. I also came in the day before Loy Krathong, so there were many colourful decorations around this spot.

Visited Three Kings Monument and loved it! The statues were majestic and the grounds well-maintained. Learned a lot about Thai history too. Only downside was the area could get crowded, but overall, a fantastic experience! Would recommend to others. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

It's an interesting place to visit. In the evening, there is a night market right next to it, where a lot of things are sold. So if you like shopping, this is the place for you. There's also an interesting story behind this statue, so I recommend you to learn it

  • 4/5 Olle S. 1 year ago on Google
The place is one of few in Chiang Mai with a square. You can buy an icecream or something small to eat and sit down on a flat bench of stone. Two beautiful classic buildings surround the place. There is also a little garden of trees which gives shadows. But you must stay outside that area.

The exhibition is very good. It lets people understand the evolution of this part of the country, giving insight about history, culture, development and traditions. Children around age 10yrs enjoy it as well. Not expensive and at the ground floor you can get refreshments at the coffee shop.
