Giving this 4 stars in no way implies this isn't a wonderful place to visit, but I'm visiting alot of Temples here, so I'm saving the 5 star rating for the best of the best. Beautiful inside the main Temple building and I love all the gold ribbons hung on lines in front of the Chedi carrying people's wishes.

Very traditional style temple which makes you imagine what it would have been like back in its glorious days. The details of the architecture are amazing as they make up the beautiful structure. When you sit inside the bulilding housing the big buddha, you can feel an overwhelming sense of peace.

An ornate Buddhist temple located on the side of a busy street right outside Old City (north side). The white entrance gate has sculpted nagas and the tall vihara (housing a golden Buddha) also featured intricately carved woods. Highly recommend for people looking for a quiet afternoon of contemplation as the temple and temple grounds were so much quieter than the popular temples (Wat Chedi Luang, etc). Oh it is also perfect for those who appreciates art and architecture too. If you walked behind the vihara, you’ll stumbled in a green courtyard with a tall chedi. There’s no compulsory entrance fee when I went in Nov 2023, but voluntary donations (collected in a wooden box inside the vihara) is always appreciated & would go a long way to help defray maintenance cost. Do observe temple etiquette, such as: - No bare shoulders (tank tops), shoulders must be covered - No shorts/mini skirts (knees must be covered) - No shoes when entering a vihara - No hat, no sunglasses

We liked the temple, and the old ruins plus the lanterns hanging from lines. Interesting buildings to walk around and get an appreciation of Buddhism 3btraveler

Is a very nice temple builded in wood, in a small area you cans find the main temple plus more small building around it. Nice to visit and very convenient since is close to the touristic areas, it’s on you but you can spend from 10 minutes if you want to take a fast look until hours if you want to check all details and buildings around the main one. They place is good conserved so stop by if you would like to check a nice temple which is not so big and not so crowded

Place of worship, there are no boards in English only in local language - be aware of the rules - beautiful architecture- nothing special - Most of the people who visit here are for the pictures

Wandered and arrived at this really beautiful temple. The main meditation hall is ornately designed with Naga entrances, natural woods, and an array of Buddhas, including what looks like a ruby one. I went on a dreary afternoon on the weekend and it wasn't too trafficked, I could meditate comfortably there. The wat is a marvel! It's well preserved. What's unique is there is a pulley/lever system to offer saffron water to the Buddha sitting high on the Wat. What a fun experience!

This temple is close to the north gate of the old city. Just cross the roads to the outside of the moat. A lovely temple to visit. There are ropes at the pagoda which you can pull to send a bamboo carrying water up to the Buddha statue.

I would give this a must see while in Chiangmai. Tranquil garden area to chill out, lots of shade to beat the heat. The temple houses one of the largest and most impressive chedis in Chiang Mai. You can go around the back near the Cheri and make a water offering. The water is raised to the top of the Cheri where Buddha sits via a pulley system, very cool and unique. I have visited many temples and never seen this anywhere else.

Relatively large temple grounds with multiple buildings, and one old stupa at the back. The main entrance gate with green and red colored guardians has white elephants on the inside. A large Buddha is inside the hall. Suggest you walk entirely around the stupa as small buddhas have been placed at eye level on each side. Decorative work also adorns each fence post at the outer edge of the grounds. Signs in Thai-English are near important areas.

Large Chedi built in 1520. It is said that it contains the ashes of the Lanna kings of the Mengarai dynasty. Colourful paper flags are hanging around the Chedi. Visitors can buy one of these paper banners, inscribe it with their wishes and then hope that it will bring them good luck. Beautiful, somewhat dark viharn made of teak wood. A visit to this temple should not be missed, if only because of the colourful flags.

A beautiful Buddhist shrine just outside the northern moat, accessible through a wooden bridge. It has a modern Pagoda with a large Buddha and a large ancient brick temple at the back. Not to be missed.

The main building of this wat is all in dark wood, and the effect inside is quite special, especially on a bright day. There are several small shrines on the grounds with gardens, that seem to be dedicated to female avatars. The area is not paved, making it feel like the countryside, even though it's right in town. There are some large elephant statues, and several "money trees," and a large chedi in back, with a shaded sitting area adjacent. The door frames in the western school buildings are delicate, ornate carved stone. Just next door, to the north, are some amazing carved trees and a rooster shrine with hundreds of statues of standing roosters.

This place is so beautiful, there is an ancient temple that is well preserved. Everywhere you look is a picture opportunity. One of the locals showed us that you can offer water to the Buddha statue located at the top of the ancient temple (see video on this review). Really a nice experience.

How can you differentiate the Wats? Well this one has the best temple ceiling of them all. Intricately decorated, high timber ceiling, it really makes an impact as you enter. The golden Buddha is particularly beautiful and the lush green surrounds are welcome respite to the hustle and bustle of Chiang Mai’s streets

One of the must see ancient stupas near Chiang Mai's old square and is very easy to find. Several architecturally beautiful shrines around well preserved Lana style stupa. Because it's across the street from the old wall, it's very easy to find and we'll worth a stop.

There are so many beautiful Wats in Old Town Chiang Mai and I have visited them all over many decades. But this year we decided to visit this one. I think they said it was the, or one of the oldest, and much different than the others. It definitely brought back memories of days gone by. It's just outside the North Gate of the old city, about in the the middle.

Beautiful template and grounds. There are so many amazing Wats all around Chiang Mai (more than any other city in Thailand!) but the artistry of the Viharn and ancient brick Chedi here I thought were especially picturesque. There were also two nagas in one area either being newly built or renovated when we visited which was cool to see the work in progress. Not a large site but very peaceful and full of amazing Buddhist statuary.

This is one of the most impressive temples near the city center of Chiang Mai. If you are doing a city walking tour of Chiang Mai, add this to your list of stops! Personally, I think it is more impressive than the silver temple. The temple is old and architecturally beautiful! There's also a fun activity. You can donate some money to water the plants with a pulley system created to water some plants at the top of the older temple.

Very nice templer in chiangmai town, it was fantastic colour and texture surrounded by silver colour. Recommend come in early morning with sunrise , can take very good footage photo, but make sure must wear proper attire before going in. They do provide a temporary long skirt for cover up if you are not preparing. Lastly, the silver hall itself woman is not allow to enter.
