What a great experience. We had the best time with the best guide/chef. Extra credits to Garnet. She thought us So much in only a few hours. Speaks perfect English and is utterly funny. The two mama’s in the kitchen made the experience so effortless. We might say this was the best experience of our two week stay in Chiang Mai. We higly recommend this cooking class. And as Garnet would say “never try never know”. Thank you so much 🙏🏻🤍 Team Belgium

We absolutely loved our half-day experience here! Joy, our guide, was absolutely joyful & her name is quite fitting for her energy. We had so much fun, made quite a large amount of food and learned plenty about the foods and ingredients in Thai food. Could not recommend this school enough!

There are so many cooking school options but this one was easy and efficient to book and a wonderful experience! Communicated via email, paid a deposit via PayPal, and the experience was all well taken care of by their team. $1200THB/person for a morning session. It was a great opportunity to check out the local market with a guide, drive by the farm fields with buffalos, learn about the plants, herbs, and spices, AND cook some of the best Thai food you’ll eat because you cooked it! Things are clean, easy to use, and each step is demonstrated. Our guide Praew was fun, easy going, a great instructor. During our conversations she talked about how Covid has affected the people of Thailand but furthermore how resilient they are to have survived the pandemic and their joy of welcoming people from all over the world again to fall in love with their food. Thank you Thai Farm Cooking School for a memorable experience!

We had an absolutely amazing time during the half day cooling class. Joy led us through the process of cooking different dishes and was incredibly friendly. You won't find fresher ingredients anywhere. We can fully recommend!

Great experience! I love thai cousine so I really wanted to attend some cooking class and I was not dissappointed. They will take you to an organic farm and you cook directly at the tropical garden. You also learn a bit about plants and other ingrediences. They give you a small book with recipes in the end, so you can try to cook what you learned at home.

Can’t say enough amazing things about this class. We just finished it today and the instructor was so engaging and fun to have a class with. We started by going to a food market to learn about the ingredients and walk around; then we went to the farm to see how all of the ingredients look when they are grown. All of the food and recipes are catered and customized to each person: we had different palates and food preferences in our group and each person got to have their own style (vegetarian, low spicy, high spicy). I highly recommend this class.

One of my favorite experiences in Chiang Mai!! They were so nice to pick us up from our hotel. We really enjoyed coming to the local market to explain and show all the ingredients. Phae was an amazing instructor. She was so educational when explaining every dish and ingredient at the farm. The farm is magical. Phae was so patient and the class format is so accommodating for all cooking skill levels. My wife and I loved every minute and felt so proud when we got to eat our own dishes!! Would highly recommend this to anyone visiting the area!

One of the best things we did in Chiang Mai. Wass is energetic, funny, and an excellent teacher! Her staff works magic to keep the entire course seamless from start to finish. I would skip breakfast. We ate so much that we all had food coma and passed out in the van on our way back 😅 (Beer in photo not included but there is an opportunity to pick some up at the local market that you will stop by on the way to the cooking school/farm)

Amazing experience! We very much recommend the place and the services. All natural ingredients. Beautiful place. Not so far from Chiang Mai (transportation included in the package). You will be full and happy 😁

What a fantastic day. I did a cooking class in Thailand years ago but wanted to brush up on my skills and get some new recipes so signed up for the full day class. Everything was so easy, loved the market stop and the tour of the organic farm. It was so nice to be able to pick herbs and fruit as we went through and understand the differences to what we can buy at home. The structure of the class was great, it flowed well all day. The food was delicious and I appreciate that we could all choose different dishes and then learn about so many options at once. I picked green curry but other chose penang, massman, khao soi and red curry, so now I can make them all! Our instructor Wass was patient, kind and so so helpful and knowledgeable. And I love the cookbook we were given at the end. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Chiang Mai!

Simply amazing - We were 2 people and cooked 5 different dishes each, so 10 different dishes in total. Even made our own curry paste. You get a great recipe book in the end with 24 dishes. I had so much fun!

(Ask for Fah!) I have nothing but amazing things to say about this place! I did quite a bit of research with my best friend suggested we do a cooking school while in Thailand. There are so many options and it’s very easy to get distracted by the noise. This place is the real deal! You start your morning by getting picked up early at your hotel by somebody with a bright smiling face. Then you stop at the local market where true locals get their materials to cook the meals for restaurants in their home. Followed by not too long of a drive out to the farm land you drive past rice patties, Buffalo, and the occasional random cow. Truly local farm life. All day the instruction is fantastic, very detailed, and the free time to roam the farm at lunch is a great touch. Would highly recommend this to anybody! Delicious and well worth the money.

A highlight of our trip. The farm was beautiful and the whole day was really interesting and interactive. Wass, our host was lovely and really friendly and encouraged you to ask as many questions as you wanted. The trip to the local market and round the farm was a brilliant start, fully understanding all the ingredients before learning to cook with them. The cookbook you receive at the end of the day is full of recipes and a brilliant souvenir. Go hungry, they definitely want you to enjoy as much food as possible!

Garnet was the most kind, welcoming and enthusiastic instructor! She's incredibly skilled, able to oversee 3 different dishes being cooked simultaneously, whilst remaining as cool as a cucumber. Our tour began with a trip to the market, to learn about ingredients. Then on arrival at the school we were treated to an extensive garden tour in which we tasted lots of herbs. We then cooked veggie Pad Thai, Massaman, Tom Yum and Mango Sticky Rice. This was one of my most memorable travel experiences! I would go again to cook other dishes with Garnet in the future. Thank you to the ladies assisting with preparation of the food. The Thai Farm Cooking School is the definition of a well oiled machine! Recommend wearing fly spray as the midges love the garden as much as we do!

What an amazing experience this cooking class was! First they take you to the market to talk about different products you will be using later when cooking and then you go to a beautiful farm outside the city. We chose afternoon class and the farm looked amazing in the setting sun 😍 Our amazing instructor Raatta was an absolute star! She walked us through all the recipes, joked around and made the entire experience feel so easy yet rewarding. The curry and mango sticky rice Raatta helped us make were the tastiest ones we had during our trip. Thank you, Raatta! Additional shoutout to our driver who was a hero of streets and traffic of Chiang Mai. Btw take a mosquito repellent with you!

Really cool and fun experience, took from 8am to 2pm with the lunch you cook yourself and also a cooking book. I'd recommend filming everything, so would be easier to remember some details. Very traditional recipes and excelente flavor. Thanks Kruu Wass for the teaching.

Amazing experience, absolutely perfect. I’m tempted to call the cooking class my personal highlight of my Thailand trip. I saw cooking schools in the center of Chiang Mai and felt lucky that our class took place on this beautiful and idyllic farm outside of town. Our teacher Garnet was absolutely incredible in explaining everything and making us feel welcome :) We visited a local market outside of Chiang Mai (not one of the touristy ones in the center), took a tour around the gardens of the farm and of course: we cooked and we ate! We learned so much about Thai food and dishes and I still can’t believe how delicious the food was. And to make it perfect: we got our own cooking book to re-cook the dishes at home. And special thanks to the two ladies that worked so hard cleaning the dishes and preparing our cooking stations in between, the whole organisation was perfect.

We enjoyed the cooking course very much. We felt that the course was very well arranged, maybe even a bit too much. For example, we did not make all dishes from start to end (vegetables etc were cut already). Furthermore, we did not do the groceries at the local market ourselves as we expected. I would remark that this cooking school is not a small school, the cooking classes are routinezed. However, probably due to their experience everything is arranged really well. From the pick up from your hotel, to the recipe selection and the farm tour, all was arranged well. Moreover, the farm is a beautiful environment to cook!! We enjoyed learning about the Thai cooking ingredients. At the end of the course we received a recipe book with all recipes we made during the course, we’re looking forward to try to cook these dishes at home.

Had a wonderful afternoon (15:00 till 21:00 including driving out to the farm) during the cooking class of Raatta. She had a good energy and added some humor to the class. We liked that we made the dishes from scratch (including curry paste). They did cut the ingredients and explained it well, which made it easy to follow the steps. The market and farm was a nice addition. Can’t compare it to other cooking classes in Chiang Mai but we enjoyed this one a lot.

We walked in and booked a place for the afternoon. It was super easy. Communication was in excellent English, so there were no problems with understanding and arranging everything. We cooked curry (for me, it was spicy), a soup (manageable spicy), spring rolls (absolutely fine), and a dessert (delicious). Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and we learned a lot about spices and alternatives that we can find at home.

Something everyone should do!!! This was an amazing experience. We started our day on the local market and learned about essential spices for Thai food. After we went to their farm where we could see and taste all different herbs used for the meals we were going to prepare. Everything organically grown! The cooking itself was very well organised. Our instructor was super friendly and funny. She explained and taught everything super clearly. The meals we prepared were the most beautiful tasting curry's I have ever had. And to much to eat too. Curry was made from the base. We also cooked some noodle dish, a soup and some sweets😋

The Thai Farm cooking school is reopened (post-lockdown) and is still an amazing class! Includes a guided market trip and an amazing cooking class, using ingredients from their beautiful garden to make five glorious Thai dishes ️. I highly recommend this cooking experience. I've now added some yummy Thai meals I can cook at home. Book through email, quick responses. Pick up/drop off from accomodation. Friendly, helpful staff. Clean and safe facilities.

This is a fantastic cooking school set on a beautiful farm just outside of Chaing Mai (only about 45 minutes). We got picked up from our hotel and whisked away to a market to learn about important Thai ingredients. After travelling to the farm, we journeyed the gardens to touch, taste and learn about more. We cooked a range of different and delicious meals, and Garnet, our teacher, stepped us through everything, providing the perfect balance of support and letting us do things ourselves. She taught us technique, tips and tricks and meals were perfect. Thai Farm supported our kids to attend, letting them help us cook and providing extra ingredients so they could share the meals. thanks Thai Farm and thank you Garnet!

Amazing experience 100% recommended! Our instructor Fah was really nice, her teaching skills, level of English and humour were all great! Start the day off with a market tour and a tour of the farm to learn about all the ingredients, and then you cook and eat 6 courses with lots of time in between to chat with others and relax in the beautiful surroundings - we loved just listening to all the birds.

I had an amazing day with our super chilled and funny teacher Wass - and lovely trainee Ratta - they had such a good energy! Exactly what I expected from this full day course, maybe even better!! The market we went to in the morning was an actual market (not touristy at all) and the farm is really cool. Our teacher explained many things about local herbs and spices, taking the time to answer our questions. Cooking stations were clean and had everything we needed. A special thanks to the ladies cleaning our dishes and stations while we were eating, I would have liked to help though. I will definitely go again to learn other dishes :D

We absolutely loved the cooking experience in Thai Farm cooking school! ❤️❤️❤️ Not only she and her team was really patient, but also they were extremely friendly, helpful and great teachers! We had an opportunity to visit market and learn about some ingredients, after learn more about them in her own farm and after that cook and enjoy the food we made. We would recommend it to everyone and without doubt it was the tastiest meal we have had in Thailand up to now! :) Thank you again for being such a great person and making our honeymoon more special!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Really recommend for an authentic experience whilst in Chiang mai. Wass and her team where amazing. The whole experience was great. We made a a soup, curry, a noodle dish and a dessert. The open air cooking style was very fun for an authentic Thai experience. And Wass was very knowledge and funny! Don’t eat before! 😅

This was one of our favorite experiences in Chiang Mai! We did a half day experience in a group with 4 others (6 in total), and it’s incredible what they included in just a couple of hours (local market tour, farm tour, cooking 4 dishes, and breaks to enjoy your food). The farm is located outside Chiang Mai and is very beautiful, perfect if you are looking for a nice break from the busy city environment. It’s also a great experience to cook while surrounded by nature. Our cooking instructor Joy made the learning experience very light and fun, and made cooking Thai food for the first time seem simple and easy. Overall it was a very educational experience, and we definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Chiang Mai and finding it difficult to decided which cooking experience to choose ;) Hint: You will make a lot of food, so if you want to manage to eat all of it, go easy on the breakfast

When visiting Chiang Mai, you must make a trip to the Thai Farm Cooking School. We did only the half day cooking class and they really packed a lot into the day (it was from 10 am to 2 pm): we got to go to the local market and learn about different thai ingredients, we learned how to make a 4 course meal including spring rolls, soup, curries and dessert (for us we got mango sticky rice). You also get a cook book to take home which i've used over and over again. I love that this is an organic farm and a lot of the ingredients are grown directly on the farm.

You won't regret to book this cooking class. It is only 1500 for good memories and an unforgettable experience. We did have a very good time with the group, the teachers and even the driver as well. They were so nice and friendly. You will start first at the local market, then arrive at the farm to see how they grow up the vegetables and then study to cook Thai foods. Our teacher was Joy, she is a good teacher and nice, the assistant girl is very helpful too. The driver showed us more about the rice and the sticky rice. It's a must-do thing in Chiangmai and in Thailand as well. If you love Thai food then why not learn how to cook it yourself. You will see you aren't that bad of a cook after taking this class.

  • 5/5 Yvonne G. 3 years ago on Google
Lovely experience! Highlight of our Thailand trip! Very nicely located outside of Chiang Mai (they will pick you up and drive you home from your hotel!). You will start your day with a nice and informative walk over the farm, where you will learn (and taste) a lot about the herbs and veggies that are going to be used during the course. The course itself is well organized, fun and VERY delicious!!! Would definitely recommend to go :)

  • 5/5 Jonas E. 4 years ago on Google
Really nice experience. We started with a stop at a local market (we were picked up at our hotel). Our guide (and cooking instructor) Kim showed us the typical ingredients of our dishes and we got some time to explore the market. Afterwards we drove to the cooking school. There we saw the farm, where a lot of the ingredients are growing. And of course we did the cooking session. Every meal was very tasty, you can adjust the spice of your dish like you want to. The instructions of Kim were really good, you can also ask her everything you want to know. All in all a recommendation for everybody who wants to cook Thai food themselves.
