Amazing (and free!) waterfalls and swimming holes. A few minutes hike down rewards you with multiple places to jump into the water, slide and swim. As well as some beautiful nature trails through jungle terrain.

My favourite place in the city. This cute hidden waterfall - you just have a little stream and viewpoint of the city when you first enter from the parking lot, but keep walking in and climb down the rocks to find the 2 waterfall swimming pools! 🥰 It is a little bit of a steep climb down, but I have dodgy knees and I did it fine, just go slow :) Cutest hang out spot surrounded by sun and plants, deep enough to jump in from high up, lots of local kids come to play and it’s just such good vibes I come here every week!!

We hired a red car driver who was amazing. He took us to Wang Via Ban Pha Ngoep waterfall on our way back to Chiang Mai. This place is cool. When we went, lots of people were enjoying the pool of water at the top - all ages - swimming around. A couple of my kids and husband decided to dip in the water. It was really fun and amazing. WARNING: this place can be very dangerous, however. So please be careful. While we were there I witnessed a woman slip down the rocks and smash into a child at the bottom of the rocks. I'm a nurse and I was sure than one of them was going to bed medical attention. Luckily they were both able to move after the incident - however I'm still not sure the woman was completely okay. After that, my 8 year old son slipped on a rock at the edge of the cliff and I jumped in after him. We were both incapacitated for a few minutes and had to carefully crawl out of the little pool we landed in. Thankfully we didn't go over the cliff ledge. It was the scariest part of our whole trip. My heart still pounds still thinking about what could have been. Anyway - if you want a fun (non scary) waterfall experience where you can go swimming safely, check out the Mae Klang Waterfall in Doi Inthanon National Park.

We had a very brief stop here on the way up to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep by car. I wished I had planned in more time to just hang out there to watch the butterflies and just listen to the waterfalls. There are trails here to explore as well. There were some people just lying/sittinf on the large flat rocky surface enjoying the sun.

A nice stop over. I like to meditate listening to the stream passing by. They is nothing particular but a bit of nature close to the noisy and polluted city of ChiangMai. It would be appreciated for people to take away their empty beer bottles from the site though😬 Enjoy simplicity and greenery.

Nice place. Nice view. Nice waterfall. I went up to the cliffs . Bit dangerous if u don't know how to take the steps, especially when it's wet season. Be careful, I almost stayed up there forever 😂

Passed by this place after visiting Doi Suthep by foot. Quite relaxing to sit alone in the pavilion with great views of Chiangmai. There seem to be a trail on the left side of pavilion heading downwards to the larger pools

An absolutely beautiful place, hidden from the road. Come here in the sunshine, it is heaven. If you look down from the viewing area you'll see the waterfalls and rocks and stream leading down to still waters at the bottom. There are a few paths to get down there and the place is magical.

Cool little forest trekking path. Fun to explore the side paths. A bit scenic if you get up on the rocks; you can see downtown. Not an epic hike, but a good diversion. If you are pinched for time, I'd instead recommend heading up to Doi Pui nature trail, as it's much more scenic.

Lots of nice hiking trails, though not well marked for direction. Places to take a dip in the refreshing mountain water. Not easy to climb always, so wear good shoes. Also, bring lots of water! This could get dangerous in the height of the rainy season, so heed the warning signs.

This place is perfect in cold season with water runs through the rocks. It's boring in dry season. It's more quiet and less people than Wang Buaban and Huay Keaw waterfall. I'd love to chill and reading here. You can continue walking from Pha Ngoeb along little water tide to the bridge on main road either. Sorry for any broken English :)

Nice place! This is a nice place for a rest and be close to the nature. The water fall is good, and the stream is also pretty lovely. You can hike around those huge rocks and it will be a very fun experience if you try to climb those rocks. It’s a little dangerous, but very fun INDEED. Huge recommended to this place. Also really nice view to the city.

Nice place to cool down with locals for free. Some kids do cliff diving in one of the pools but no sure if I would recommend it.

One of the closest waterfalls to Chiang Mai, easily accessible by taxi. An area with an amazing view of the city, easy access to surrounding Wats and Bubing Palace

The walking path to the waterfall is blocked by some electricity cable (I think). I decided not to walk down due to the potential danger. This waterfall is connected to the other 2 waterfalls down the stream. If you really want to visit, you can start at the 2nd waterfall (Wang Bua Ban Pha Ngoep) and walk up and you will see a cliff and the waterfall. Not too much that you can do there honestly.

Lovely steam and view. The tiny fish nibble your feet. Nice place to walk. However, can get a little busy/noisy at peak times.

It was pretty dried up and just one stream with a cave like indentation in the mountain. I'd rather go higher up the mountain to bigger waterfalls

This is the 1st stopping point on my way up Doi Suthep (ดอยสุเทพ). It's a nice break with a shaded seating area. This morning I could hear the wild chickens down in the valley below.

Very easy walk to the waterfall and a nice little getaway if you are willing to climb a little bit to get away from the beaten trail. Nice hideaway at the top - away from the world.

Natural waterfall. I went there in early February the water run dry so then we can chill and sit on the rock. Really good place for relaxation from busy life.
