Tourist attraction Cooking class

👍👍 We had such a great time learning from Yuri and cooking some of our favorite Thai dishes. I am so grateful for this experience with my family. We really liked picking up local spices at the market after as well. We can’t wait to try Khao Soi at home! People often mention class, cooking, experience, Thai, amazing, dishes, home, time,

A friend saw my partner and I were visiting Chiang Mai and recommended we take Yui’s class. There may be cheaper options, but as you’ll see, this was 100% worth it. We got picked up at the hotel and had an excellent cooking experience. Yoi worked hard to show us how to modify recipes to be able to do it in our own countries. When we left I felt much more prepared to cook some amazing Thai dishes when we get home. Highly recommended!

Had an amazing and unique experience at A Lot Of Thai cooking school. Yui is a great teacher and has really helped me wrap my head around Thai cuisine in a relatively short amount of time. I couldn’t imagine that any other school could do a better job.

A fantastic class where you learn the basics of Thai cuisine and get to prep and cook four courses. Yui, the teacher and owner, is enigmatic, inspiring and highly skilled. All the dishes prepared use fresh local ingredients and taste phenomenal. As a break from the kitchen heat, Yui takes you to her local market to show you how bustling it is and where you can sample what's on offer. Essentially, think of the ripest most succulent fruit and veg that you get here in the UK - their out of season produce tastes better! A cookbook is also given to you so you can replicate the dishes at home, that is if you can source the ingredients (alternatives are listed). All in all, a well run and brilliantly fun experience.

My husband and I took a class yesterday (Friday) and absolutely loved it. The menu included a Fried Rice, Som Tam and Panang with Chicken. All of the dishes were amazing, especially the Som Tam and pumpkin/tofu Panang! I was very happy to be provided with good vegetarian substitutes, as opposed to only tofu. I would highly recommend this class - it's a great way to spend a half day in Chiang Mai!

Amazing day with Yui and other students there! After class I found out I had left my cook book on the table and the best part is that Kwan brings it to the hostel I stay!! Everything is perfect, I highly recommend this home cooking class. Best in Thai~

This class was amazing. My girlfriend and I were the only two people in the class that day, and Yui still invested all of her energy into making sure we had a memorable experience. The food was amazing, I think Yui is the best chef in all of Chiang Mai. Very good price for what you get. This is a must.

Some friends and I decided that we wanted to do a cooking class in Chiang Mai, we spent a lot of time researching what school, and decided on A lot of Thai. Man, we were NOT disappointed. When we looked back on our trip, this was our favorite thing we did (even more than visiting elephants). We debated on a bigger, more well-known school, but we are SO glad we went with this class. The instructor (Yui) was the reason we had such an amazing experience. Not only is she a genius in the kitchen (the best food we had in Thailand by far and everything we ate was delicious) but she was kind, hilarious, smart, and gave a real depth to the knowledge of the food. Honestly, my friends and I wanted to go back the next day, that's how much fun we had. I've never met anyone with so much knowledge and passion and it showed in her teaching style. We also loved that the class size was smaller so it felt much more intimate so that we each got personalized attention. I truly cannot say enough good things about our experience at A Lot of Thai and Yui. We didn't stop smiling and eating the entire time!

We had a class today and experienced not just fabulous food but the knowledge to what takes any cooking to the next level, the science! Yui is a well kept secret, impress your friends with the recommendation! 5☆

I think it’s my 3rd or possibly 4th time here over the last 15 years. There are many cooking classes in Chiang Mai, so why come back to this one? The food is fabulous, the setting lovely, quality of ingredients and care for every single details is top notch. But what makes this stand apart from any others is Yui who runs it with her husband Kwan. There is no better place to learn how to make with ease some iconic Thai dishes. But this is the ONLY place where you also get invaluable understanding of the chemistry and physics of cooking, philosophy of life, and dozens of cooking tips which carry over beyond Thai cuisine. All this while having fun. Now you know why I keep coming back!

An exceptional cookery class. Yui's cooking is great and she has a lovely way of explaining the techniques and flavours. Lots of good tips to help improve my Thai cooking. Enjoyed the trip to the market afterwards too.

A very unique experience. The owner was most helpful. Even dropped my wife home. From the visit to the markets and to the class and eating the results of our teachings from the day out represented good honest value. Please try.

Chef Yui is above the rest of all the cooking class that we went to. I love how detailed she was in teaching us that came with pure passion. Small class size of less than 10. Attended to each and every one of us. Even my mother of 71 years old that has been cooking daily for 50 years is picking new information from her. Amazing experience. I would highly recommend her.

Excellent experience all around. From the food market visit to the mango sticky rice ending, everything was super tasty and we felt like accomplished chefs ready to try it at home! Pick your favorite day by the menu! Whole foods, no short-cuts here!
