Highly recommend this cooking class. We did the half-day evening class and felt it was plenty of time. You start off going to a local market with a chance to do some shopping, then head back to the school where they walk you through their small herb garden & give you a chance to touch & smell the fresh herbs you will be using. You start off by having a little welcome snack, then you start cooking. For the half day, you get to choose 1 stir fry, 1 soup, & 1 curry. You get to freshly make the curry paste for you dish. Everyone also makes spring rolls. The food was amazing, but definitely come hungry as it's hard to finish everything you make! The instructors were also great at accommodating people with food allergies & dietary restrictions. They were super knowledgeable and even gave recommendations on what substitutes to use if you can't find certain ingredients when you go back home. You also get a cookbook with all the recipes at the end of class! One thing to be aware of is they only serve water, so if you want, you are welcome to bring your own beverages or run over the nearby 7/11 to grab drinks (we grabbed some beer and they were able to refrigerate it for us no problem).

Last year I had gone to a cooking school in Phuket which I thought was quite good. This completely blew it away. If you can spare the time, go to the farm, it is wonderful and the instruction is excellent. And if you are lucky enough to get Katie as your instructor, try not to fall in love. Oh – and did I mention that they give you a recipe book in the end?

Great cooking school! I chose this one because they offered half day courses in town - many of the other schools only offered classes at local farms, but because I didn’t have much time, I wanted to find a true half day option and this was it! I was picked up from my hostel at 8:30 and we finished around 12:30. My instructor was Katie - she was awesome! We walked about 5 minutes to a local market where Katie showed us local ingredients and we got to explore for a few minutes. We went back to the school and toured their little garden to gather more ingredients for our meal. We got to choose what we wanted to cook, and they had vegetarian options - I was able to substitute tofu for meat and different sauce instead of fish sauce and oyster sauce - they made it very easy! We prepped ingredients and got to cook everything ourselves, with Katie helping at every step. We ate until we were stuffed and they gave us a little cookbook with all the recipes (for what we chose to cook and all the other options they offer). I would definitely recommend this school for a short, but wonderful introduction to cooking Thai food!

This is an amazing cooking class. I have visited them for the 3rd time now (2015, 2022 and 2023) and I always loved it. Great sized group and amazing experience to go through. Very well guided and explained in detail. Also getting a cooking book at the end of the class. Half day course is perfect I would say. Will be coming back for sure 🙌.

My wife and I took park in the half day evening cooking class in January 2020 and we couldn’t recommend it enough. The staff were fantastic and our teacher for the night, Sexy A was awesome, a real bundle of energy and a joy to be around. We learned how to make 5 dishes and we were delighted to take the cook books home. The venue was clean, tidy and well lit.

Very fun experience. Had a good group of people attending. Offered some insight for items that I was familiar with at the markets. Exposure to different types of herbs and vegetables not typically seen in Canada. The receipts were great and Sexy A was a great instructor

We did our half day cooking class today and we learned to make five Thai dishes! The half day cost 800 baht per person. You get to make spring rolls and choose from a selection of each from these categories: stir fry, soup, curry, and curry paste. We made Khao Soi, Pad Thai, Fried Basil with chicken, green curry, Tom Yum soup, Tom Kha Kai soup, spring rolls and we got to eat everything :) They do have full days as well, during which you also make a desert and salad. It was a very cool experience, and we learned a lot! Our instructor, Noon, taught us about herbs and spices used in Thai cooking, and techniques to cook each dish. Before cooking we visited a local market where she also showed us some vegetables and ingredients we’d be using like palm sugar and dried chilis. At the end of the class we were provided with a booklet containing information on herbs and recipes. Overall the class was great, although it did feel very fast paced at times. If you’re a fast learner and enjoy cooking under pressure, this class is for you!

I did a half day cooking class with Gayle and thought it was really insightful and fun. We got to choose 5 recipes which we also got to eat. The class was fun and engaging. We learnt lots about the ingredients and how everything should be prepared. We recieved a cook book at the end of the class with all the recipes.

Such a great experience! Our cooking teacher, Kat, was very welcoming, pedagogue, enthusiast and funny. we had an amazing class with her ! What’s great about this is that you really get the full Thai cooking experience: choose the meals (5 recipes), go to the market to buy the food and see what each ingredient looks like, walk around the garden to see how some ingredients grow (especially herbs), then cook!!! For the half day you get to cook a deep fried roll, a soup, a fried based meal (like pad Thai, pad see uw or chicken cashew), a curry paste and a curry dish. The teacher will show you the techniques and will then guide you through the recipe.

we had a great time. although speaking English very poorly, we had no difficulty following! Our chef, Pin, was dynamic, attentive to everyone and truly educational. we loved being able to choose the prepared dishes, discover the garden and the market. little extra for the recipe book at the end. Thank you again for this great experience!

What an incredible experience, really lovely group of people to cook with, our teacher Arya was wonderful, excellent at organising a large group, great English and helps you customise your spice level to what you like. Started with a trip to the market where they show you all the ingredients you’ll be cooking with, then back to the cooking school for a traditional welcome snack. Really enjoyed our evening, and all of the food that comes with it! Thank you Arya for teaching us traditional Thai cooking 🍜 x

Had a wonderful time at this class even received a cookbook at the end! We decided to take the half day class and it included 5 dishes which was wonderful. You get to use a wok and actually cook all your meals and the environment is great. Our teacher was very helpful and assisted us through the whole journey. We had no Thai cooking knowledge when we started!

Fantastic! Had a half day at farm class which was incredible - don’t miss out on the farm tour and experience! Thai (or maybe Tai?) our guide had great English and was very nice, he answered all our questions even those unrelated to the class. Regarding the class - the ingredients were as fresh as they can get and everything came out delicious. We were only 4 people in this class so it felt private and nice. Great value for money and great experience overall!! Highly recommended.

Thai our teacher was INCREDIBLE! The whole experience was amazing from start to end. My partner and I did the afternoon class and it was great to eat the dishes as we went along and we learnt a lot from their herb garden and local market. We chose this class as it was one of the cheapest classes and we are so glad we did as it was exceptional. The attention to detail and quality of service made it worth every penny and so worth £18 each! We made a total of 6 dishes including curry paste from scratch! We prepped everything ourselves and Thai made sure that we were all confident and happy with our dishes. There were 7 of us in the class and we all received equal amounts of attention from Thai and nothing was missed. The best cooking class we’ve done!

Fantastic cooking class. Katie was a great instructor who appeared highly knowledgeable about cooking and deftly fielded our many questions with great communication skills in English. We did this class with our family of four, with two small children--our 5 year old cooked my wife (a bit stressful but fun) and our almost 8 year old cooked on his own, side by side with me (quite stressful but he managed without any burns or spills). We did the short class (5 courses, not 7). I definitely recommend!

We had a great experience doing this amazing cooking course given by amazing Katie, our instructor, and the rest of the team. We had a small group and everything felt very cordial! The visit to the local market was a blast to learn about Thai ingredients. We really gained more insight into the Thai cuisine. Can absolutely recommend going to this authentic cooking school in Chiang Mai! 5/5 experience!!

Really brilliant experience all round. Our class started at 1700 and ended at 2100, which sounds long but the time flies by. We we picked up promptly from our accommodation and taken to the cooking school. We were a group of 5, joined by 6 others. We met Nune who was our teacher for the evening. We started with a basic intro to Thai food - taking a tour of their garden where they grow herbs and aromatics, before heading to a nearby market to see some more authentic Thai ingredients. We were given a menu with five courses and asked to pick what we’d like to make from each option. We made a main, a soup, a curry, spring rolls and something else that I’ve forgotten about. The facilities were great - everyone had their own gas stove, knives and chopping boards, and we all prepared our dishes under Nunes supervision before sitting down for a delicious (and very large) meal at the end. We were kindly offered transport home which came as part of our deal. I can’t thank Nune and the team enough - we all loved it.

Really loved it! Our teacher Note was informative, patient and on the ball! It can't be easy to walk 11 people through cooking their separate choices of dish at the same time but he did it haha we cooked so much food, if you are taking this class (we did the half class at night at the school) then you do not need to eat lunch that day. Seriously. I wish I could have eaten more of the delicious food we cooked but I just got so full. Was well worth the money and you even get a cute professional looking cookbook with all of the recipes (even the ones you didn't cook) to take home 👍

Highly recommend! We had a really great time with our morning half-day class with "Sexy A" as our teacher. Sexy A was hilarious and so fun. And all of our food was so delicious -- they make it really easy. The visit to the market to learn about some ingredients and have a chance to buy your own things was a nice beginning to the class. Come hungry! The half-day was plenty of food pretty comprehensive.

We had an awesome time at the cooking class! Going for the full day at the farm was totally worth it – I think a half day would have been too short. Our instructor, Nami, was the best! She's funny, smart, and really knows her stuff. Plus, her English skills are top-notch. The food we cooked was so tasty, and they even gave us a cookbook to take home and try the recipes ourselves. Our ten-year-old son was with us and had a blast too. He said it was the absolute highlight of our trip to Thailand. I can't recommend this experience enough!

A highlight of our trip in the north! We did a full day cooking class with Nune, she was so sweet, funny, gave good and easy directions. The farm location is beautiful with a full garden of vegetables and herbs. The whole experience was very educational and they made it so easy. I couldn’t recommend them more! It was nice and quiet since Covid— small group with personal attention.

Fun cooking class. We were lucky we had owner proprietor Gayle lead us in this cooking class. Learnt Thai dishes such as Pad Thai w/ chicken, basil chicken, spring rolls, green curry, red curry, masaman curry (all w/ chicken - would be nice if they could cater more meat choices for the group). Fun to do as a group.

Beautiful cooking school run by beautiful people! I wholly recommend this activity if you are in Chiang Mai. The teacher spoke perfect English and was great in coordinating a large group for a half day of activities. We visited the market and the shops, their vegetable garden and then we cooked and used all the ingredients she familiarized us with. It was wholesome and fun. I also appreciated the cooking book she gave us and the cleanliness of the place. The place is run by women who are building a business "without the help of a rich boyfriend", as they like to say, and I fully support this.

A simply fantastic cooking school experience. Gayle takes you to the local market and gives you a first hand introduction to Thai ingredients and the role food plays in Thai culture. She is a wonderful guide and I would 100% recommend this experience. The food we made was excellent and no doubt we will be enjoying cooking delicious Thai meals all the time now.

Fun experience to do when in Chiang Mai. However, we didn’t get in depth with the cooking methods/tricks, since most of the time you just follow instructions. We opted for the half day course. First we visited the market to gather some ingredients. During cooking at the cooking school, sometimes it felt a little bit rushed, but it’s also understandable since there’s a big group involved and main dishes were mainly prepared by using the wok. We made a lot of wonderful dishes and at the end of the day we were so stuffed.

Great cooking class. We’ve had a lot of Thai food on our trip and what we made stood up well to what we’ve had. We did the half day and enjoyed all of the things we made. Additionally they give you a book of all the recipes at the end so you can remake anything you liked or even try making something new.

We had such an amazing experience at this all-day cooking class. We just moved to Chiang Mai in January. We love Thai food! Sue and the kitchen staff made everything perfect for us to have fun and learn. The farm location is beautiful! They really take their time to allow for a cultural experience as the take you to the local market and explain all the ingredients in the dishes! When you get to the farm, you go into the garden to learn more! You then cook 7 dishes. The kitchen staff does most of the manual labor and clean up which makes it so enjoyable. You get to take home a practical cookbook with all the dishes! I especially loved to see a scripture reference in the cookbook and know that the company was founded by Christians. What a blessing for me as I celebrated my 50th birthday!!

Fun Thai cooking course! Our teacher Buki was delightful, very professional and patient. We made several dishes, all of them tasty and recipes are friendly to beginners. The schedules are quite flexible, you can choose full day or half day, at their own farm or in the city. At the end of the class we got a cookbook with all the recipes in it, which is a great detail! A brief market tour is included. The price is very reasonable too, full day at farm for just 1200baht, with car pickup and drop-off. Can't wait to be back.

Amazing experience! This was so much fun and the best thing we did in Chiang Mai! The bus picked us up a bit late but brought us back 1h later than expected which gave us more time for the class and eating. I would definitely try to book the class at the farm as it’s a nice trip outside of the city. Everyone in the group of 10 people could choose his own menu set up from a large selection of each course. Our instructor and the food were amazing!! Definitely recommend this cooking class operator! And we ate all our 7 dishes on site at their beautiful farm!

We decided last minute to book the cooking half day evening class about an hour before it started. They were still able to pick us up from the hotel and the class was awesome. Indy was our instructor and she made the class very upbeat and fun! She had a great sense of humor and did a great job of making sure our food tasted the way we wanted. We went through the garden and market to learn different Thai ingredients. Her instructions were simple to fallow and everything was very organized. Food was amazing 👌 a must while in Chiang Mai. If we are ever back here we would book again. Thank you!

I took the half-day morning class before my returning flight. I had a wonderful time and wholeheartedly recommend this school. They picked me up and returned me to my hotel. We began by taking a short walk to a local market, where Garray (my instructor) introduced and told me interesting facts about various herbs and vegetables. After returning to the school, I enjoyed Meang Kum, a welcome snack. Then we cooked my choices: pork basil and rice, spring rolls, chicken coconut milk soup, green curry paste, and chicken green curry. It was delightful and relaxed, and fun. It was like cooking with family.

We did the full day school at the farm. Lee our instructor led us to the market to show us some ingredients. Then at the farm led us around garden and let us see, smell and taste some of the fresh ingredients such as garlic chive, Thai basil, Thai garlic. She did a great job explaining what went into different dishes and preparation and cooking techniques. The food was all so delicious and the course is so well done. The cookbook provided is a great reminder of the course material. Highly recommended!

The experience was amazing! I love it and recommend to everybody. I had the full day cooking class with Pin and she is a great instructor. We started the day with a welcome snack (that was delicious!) and Pin taught us about the authentic Thai ingredients of this first plate and the other ones that we would be cooking. We went on a tour and visited the garden behind the cooking school and the local market. I was super curious about the Thai ingredients and all my doubts were answered. I learned how to cook Pad Thai, Som Tum salad, Tom Yum soup, spring roll, and mango sticky rice for the desert. The day was super fun and the dishes I cooked were delicious. Pin did an excellent job teaching us and she also has a great English! I’m super proud of Asia Scenic that is a business run by Thai women and happy to support it by attending a class. Thank you very much!

We had an excellent experience! We did the half day in the town and we thought it was great. Our teacher was “Thai” and he was excellent!!! A little tour of the garden to learn about fresh ingredients, trip to the market, and then great instruction and demonstration. Thai was informative, patient, kind and funny. We learned so much during the class and everything was truly delicious. The cook book was a great bonus so we can make the dishes at home. :)

We took the full day course with Nami as our instructor and had such a great time. My favourite part was visiting the herb garden and local market - it was a super fun way to learn about some of the ingredients/herbs/spices that are found in most Thai dishes. This cooking class was definitely one of the highlights of our trip and I would highly recommend Asia Scenic to anyone. Just make sure you come with an empty stomach as you'll be eating every dish you make!

I'm late to share but my partner and I LOVED this cooking class! We did the half day class back in January and we felt like it was perfect. The class was intimate, our instructor and aide were great and funny, and we got to choose our own dish to make in each category and then eat it too. I highly recommend doing the class at the farm because they give you a tour of the things they grow to use in the cooking, on top of a tour at a local market. On an even better note, I came back home and was able to make Pad Thai on my own!

We booked the Farm Full Day experience and it was really good. Our cooking instructor Mam, was nice and explained clearly everything to us, we were able to ear well as our group was composed by 12 people cooking. The farm experience is really interesting as you can see all the plants before starting to cook in the garden. We also get a cook book at the end. We would surely recommend this experience to other people, price 1200 bath per person.

Great cooking class, I was able to book a class the same day for me and my girlfriend but you may want to schedule in advance just in case (lots of people in the class next to mine). We cooked a few Thai dishes and the instructors were very friendly and provided lots of information about the ingredients used, alternatives in your country, what to look for in the market (they walk you over to the market to show you what to buy), and at the end of the class (spoilers) they gave us a little booklet that went over everything we learned in the class. Come hungry because you will be stuffed full by the end of the class. Super fun, great with friends, family, groups, etc. Highly recommend! -Dylan from Portland OR U.S.A.

Great experience and learned so much from Katy and May! My husband and I did the full day in town (I didn’t know there was a farm option) but really enjoyed it! The trip to the market was informative and nice to learn about what some of those items are that we had been seeing a lot. Then all the cooking!! They do a lot for you but it helps speed things up and you technically get to cook every dish yourself. They might pre-chop or prep some raw foods but overall we got to do most of the prep and cooking. I would recommend it to people wanting to learn basic Thai dishes!

We did the full day Farm cooking class. I would definitely recommend paying a little more to go to the farm. It is a beautiful, tranquil place where they grow herbs and vegetables that are used to cook with. At the start of the tour we were stopped at a local market, we were the only tourists there. Maem, our guide/teacher took us around the market and explained what certain ingredients were, what we can substitute with and what we were using that day. We had some time to browse and sample tasters then we were off to the farm. We could choose what to cook, if you're veggy or vegan they will give you substitutes to cook with. We were only 5 and it was a lovely experience. All the food we cooked was tasty and the staff was attentive and efficient. Maem was lovely, she gave us a lot of information and she was always ready to answer our quesyok so with a smile. We even had some time to take a nap in their hammocks and walk around the garden! 5/5 & would 100% recommend to anyone!

Great day cooking and learning more in depth about Thai cuisine. Learnt so much about balancing flavours between sweet, sour, spiced and salty. Highly recommend, I had a great day and can’t wait to go home and show off what I learnt

Such a fun experience at the farm to see how the fresh produce is grown. Staff were friendly and made the lesson fun and explained alternative ingredients if the specific ingredient wasn’t available back home. We did half a day at the farm and it was more than enough food. Highly recommended and we walked away with a cook book with all the recipes too.

This cooking school is amazing! Our teacher was 'Da' and she was great! I would highly recommend this class if staying in Chiang Mai and would like to prepare some Thai food. This class is so organised and professional! Each individual could select their own dish to prepare out of the dishes menu options (instead of having to do the same dish as the whole group/table). Each person had their own work station and was instructed well to add which ingredient and how much. I found the explanations usefuls for ingredients and how it tastes. Be careful of your spice level as a lot of people felt brave and wanted a hotter spice level despite being asked to taste their dishes along the way and could not eat it afterwards. They were very accommodating to your food preference such as vegetarian and vegan and accomodating to our transfer pick ups/drop offs and I think it is excellent value for money out of the other Thai activities I have done (and never pressured/suggested to tip them) as I booked through Klook.

We had an incredible half day cooking experience with the farm option. Noen was our teacher and she was fantastic! Very knowledgeable, funny, kind, personable! We started the day at a local market about 20 min outside of town, where Noen explained ingredients and gave us a tour. We then headed out to the beautiful, scenic, peaceful farm another 15 minutes or so away. It was truly an oasis. Because it was low season, my husband and I had the whole place to ourselves, which was quite a treat! We cooked 5 dishes, each with demonstrations and step by step instructions. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Thank you Noen and Asia Scenic Thai Cooking School!

Soooo amazing, we were astounded we could make such delicious tasting Thai food :) Our teacher Katty was so friendly, fun and knowledgeable! Highly recommend, plus the farm experience is a great way to escape the city - there’s even a nap in a hammock built into the schedule!

My wife and I booked this cooking class during our time in Chiang Mai and had a wonderful time! The class was suitable for beginners and allowed us to learn a wide range of Thai recipes, including hot and sexy soup, which requires really cooking with your emotions! We did the full-day class in town which involved a visit to their garden and a local market to learn about the ingredients. Then we spent the rest of the time cooking and eating 7 different dishes, which were catalogued in a cookbook we got to take home with us. It was also very easy to book and the staff were very responsive to our questions. We would especially like to thank Nami and Fang for making this one of our favourite and most memorable things we did on our trip! We wish you all the best!

What a fantastic day of cooking authentic Thai dishes with Indy and her team. We were surprised at how good the food tasted... In many cases better then any restaurant we tried. Very well organised and structured too. Highly recommended.

We did the evening cooking class. We picked the herbs/spices from their garden, made curry paste by hand, and 4 dishes of our choice. It was great, the instructor was sweet, upbeat and able to instruct all 10 of us at once. The food was great and they gave us a handy cook book at the end with pictures and instructions on everything we made and more. We booked the same day and the picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel. It was the low season (September) so I’m not sure if you’d need reservations during the busy season. Would definitely recommend.
