Very knowledgeable guide! He and the other caretakers seemed very caring about the elephants. We made and applied medicine to the elephant with an injury, fed the elephants bananas and sugarcane, walked with them and also washed them. They also arranged lunch for us and at the end of the day we received fresh coconut juice with rice cracker 🥥 Would recommend!

I contacted the park via email to arrange visiting and got a reply back with confirmation date, time and what I should bring with me booking was very simple and quick! Pong was our guide and was extremely passionate and friendly and full of energy. He educated us and answered any questions we had. This isn’t a tour to just take photos you will learn a lot about the elephants. Every single member of staff we met you could see that they had a genuine passion for the elephants. We did the full day and it is a day that I will not forget in a long time. A highlight of my trip to Thailand. Thank you to all the staff and elephants🐘❤️

Elephant Rescue Park is most likely the best elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai. Thanks to our guide Am who is very knowledgeable about the elephants and speaks good English. The elephants here are really well taken care by their mahouts who kinda have great bonding with the elephants. Mr Kid,the owner of the place is really dedicated in taking great care of the elephants and not into profit making mindset. His efforts and work done for these gentle giants are very impressive. I took the whole day package and it was really amazing. We really get to spend lots of time with the elephants. The park also has great accomodation for those who plan on doing their overnight package. The view is really nice. Will definitely come back again and recommend to family and friends.

I recently visited Elephant Rescue Park and was blown away by the level of care and dedication that the owner and staff have for the elephants. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the well-being of the elephants was the top priority. The owner was incredibly knowledgeable about elephants and was able to share a wealth of information with us. It was clear that they have a true passion for these majestic animals and are dedicated to providing them with the best possible care. The sanctuary itself was impeccably clean and well-maintained, and the elephants seemed to be thriving in their environment. They had plenty of space to roam and interact with each other, and the staff was constantly monitoring their well-being and providing them with everything they needed. We did a lot of research before choosing a sanctuary to visit, and Elephant Rescue Park stood out as the clear choice. It is clear that they are an ethical and responsible sanctuary that truly cares about the welfare of their elephants. I would highly recommend a visit to anyone who loves elephants and wants to support a sanctuary that truly makes a difference.

This is by far the best place to visit in Chiang Mai for us. A hidden gem of Chiang Mai. The place is so beautifully tucked away in a corner near the mountains and water, plenty of area for the elephants to enjoy. We had the 1 day package, and if we'd known better we would choose the overnight package ! Their accomodation is amazing with a great view. Overlooking the place where the elephants come for food. The guide was very knowledgeable about the elephants and the care taker of the elephants have a relationship with them so you feel safe with the elephants. The owner (Mr.Kid) is a man who has a genuine love for this majestic creature, and a man we are more than happy to support in this quest to educate people about elephants and why they are truly, the King of the jungle. If you are an animal lover and nature's lover, you MUST come here. It was an unforgettable experience for husband and me, and we will definitely come here again. Amazing amazing. I give it 10 stars if I could. You can find many elephant parks here in Chiang Mai, but I guarantee you, this is the best by far. God bless this team of elephant lovers, that they can continue doing what they do, to make the world a better place for these gentle loving creatures.

Amazing experience with Elephant Rescue Park. The association takes really care of the elephants and devoted to their defense. Pong (the guide) is really kind, attentive and always ready to talk about the park and the northern thaï culture 🇹🇭🐘

After spending ages searching online for the right place, I finally found Elephant Rescue Park and I’m so glad we did. Be careful when searching online as there are a few with a similar name that aren’t helping rescued Elephants - this is the place you’re looking for. We did a full day tour with the elephants and it was such a magical, once in a lifetime experience. They pick you up from your hotel. We were VERY lucky that nobody else booked on our date so we basically had a private tour. However groups are still good sized and you’re given plenty of time to hang out with the elephants. You learn about the food they eat and prepare snacks for them before being able to feed them. Then after lunch (freshly made Thai food, very delicious) you get to walk with them and then bathe them. Memories that will last a lifetime. Pong was such a great guide and all the staff had genuine love and care for the elephants and treated them like family. Highly recommend and thank you to Pong and the team!

Amazing experience! Just finished this tour and was blown away by the experience and how well loved the elephants are. I did the full day tour with 2 other people, which included making treats for elephants, walk in the forest and bathing with the elephants, lunch and transportation. Arm, our guide, was attentive, spoke great English and took many pictures for us. Take the tour with this company you will not be disappointed!

It was so a lovely day with the elephants and special thanks to Sam who cared about us the whole time! Please support these guys in their mission, thank you!!!

Great experience. I picked out the tour I wanted online and got an email confirmation with my pick up time. The ride there was an hour but the tour guide was super funny and informative so it went by fast. I did the half day B package for 2200 Baht. We started the tour by changing into the red uniforms. Then we fed the elephants bananas, walk around with them, pet them, learned so much about them, bathed them, and then we finished the tour was a delicious meal with an amazing view. The entire experience was just lovely. The staff was sooo friendly, the elephants are clearly well taken care of, and you can tell by the way the staff talks that they love the elephants and truly care for them. I highly recommend this park as they do not ride, no mud baths, and they buy their elephants not rent them. If I ever come back, I 100% would come again. Also, Dew was the best tour guide.

Had an AMAZING experience at Elephant Rescue Park. We booked the overnight 2 day package and we highly recommend it. Getting the opportunity during the evening to connect with the owner and operators of the park was very insightful and engaging. Very reassuring to hear how much the Park cares for their elephants and hear their (IMO) realistic view of how to promote an ethical and sustainable elephant experience. I’ve seen how other parks choose to care for their elephants AND visitors and this park excels at both. So glad to learn during our extended tour that they have plans of expanding their park and giving their elephants a larger range to explore. <that was my only gripe with the park that I could tell they were out growing their park. Our tour brought us to another plot of beautiful green land that they are very busy getting ready to expand to soon. It was so peaceful getting the opportunity to simply walk with the elephants. Love that they are allowed to explore their surroundings freely. Their is a mahout to chaperone but for the most part these elephants are allowed to roam their land as they please. It was also heartwarming to see the elderly elephants given extra care and fed meals better fit their abilities. One of the most gentle and docile elephants at the park lost most of her teeth and the park took special care to accommodate her needs and feed her foods that she could easily chew. Our extended stay also included the opportunity to get our hands dirty and volunteer in the fields doing some work cutting and collecting grass for the elephants. This was very rewarding but it might not be suitable for some visitors as the grass was very sharp and also covered in thorns. Be mindful if you choose to opt for the heavy labor and be sure to wear thick gloves and long sleeves. I would do it alll over again but with the right attire. Ending our final day and saying goodbye to the park was very sad however, if you book the 2 day experience, it also includes a visit to the “stick waterfall” and Poo Poo paper park. Both great additions to our journey back into Chiang Mai. Thank you Elephant Rescue Park for a great experience.

One of the best experiences that I had in Thailand! Thanks for all the great work that you do ❤️‍🩹🐘♥️ I did the full day one and it was a bit long for me, but because I’m a lazy person. Both half and full day options are totally worth it!

Great experience. You literally feed and walk with the elephants and even wash them. They are well lived here and cared for. I did the half day tour which I felt was enough. They pick you up and drop you off at your hotel and feel you lunch! Great value!

It's one of the pricier elephant parks but it's worth the money imo. 3000 THB pp for the full day program. The park was huge and the guides seemed very knowledgeable. We met with 5 elephants in total. We mainly fed one and walked with three. There were only 5 people in our group so we had plenty of opportunities to interact with the elephants. We encountered the half day program and there were way more people in their group. I think the number of people changes based on how many people sign up that day. So go during the down season if you can to maximize the experience.

Don't be a stupid tourist that only care about seeing elephant (like I was in the past)... Be a human a visit this RESCUE park ! You'll feel the love, care and attention they give to the elephants and for several hours you'll be surrounded by elephants in a respectful way. Note : they can't get some medication from Thailand so please bring the pills on the picture I posted ... It will help them a lot !

it was the most amazing and unforgettable trip of my life. it changed me. such close contact with these great animals revealed something new in me. the desire to be close to nature and do everything possible to protect it. I have not seen a bad attitude towards elephants. we fed them and washed and bathed with them. it is a great honor to be next to those who save animals from a hellish life. I wish you prosperity and save as many of these incredible animals as possible!

These are people with golden hearts. Their care for the elephants is endless and they really treat them as a family. As for the activity, it was perfect. We were picked on time from our hotel, we changed to the uniforms and then we were engaged in feeding the elephants, walking with them and bathing them for a few minutes only (just when they wanted to). The activity also involved a big educational part on elephants in general and the sanctuary elephants in particular. The story of the first rescued elephant who passed away was just heartbreaking. Now there are currently 8 elephants there. I really hope they continue getting enough support for their important mission.

One of the best experiences we’ve had in our 5 months travelling the world. For starters, the owner Mr Kid is really knowledgable on everything to do with elephants and their welfare, these are rescued elephants from the circus, logging etc and you can really tell he has the passion and care to change these elephants life. He sat with us for 2 hours on the night time (as we done the overnight stay) to educate us about the elephants, the history of the rescue park and the fact he even remortgaged his own house just to get one elephant away from the circus! He and all of the other guides and mahouts made the experience unforgettable. The overnight stay was great and I’d definitely recommend that, it is a little pricier however you get all meals included as well as an overnight stay in the cabin which has everything you need. Plus if you spend more money, more goes towards the elephants well-being and car which for me is a big positive. You get to walk the elephants up the mountains, bathe them as well as play with them and enjoy their company. They are expertly taking care of by all staff and their mahouts and you can really tell they care for these elephants, they all have their individual names and are all cared for individually with different diets! A lot of work goes into this rescue park and I have not spoke to an owner of a business who has cared so much not just for the elephants but for his staff and his family too, it was a real pleasure to experience this, you MUST go for the overnight tour. It is a way more personal than experience, me, my girlfriend and our 2 friends thoroughly enjoyed the full trip. Thanks Mr Kid and all of the staff and elephants, shout-out to our baby Buma hope you’re doing well !!

We had the most amazing experience with the Elephant Rescue Park!! It is evident that they take such great care of their elephants and they want their visitors to see what amazingly gentle and playful creatures they are!! We loved having their photographer capture our pictures for a small fee and we received so many amazing photos from her!! From the nature walk to bathing them in the pond, it is hard to chose a favorite part of the experience with the elephants! Afterwards, we were able to shower and enjoy a delicious lunch with the group! I would highly recommend booking a tour with them!

We are a family of 4: 2 adults and 2 children (4 & 7 years old) and we all had a wonderful experience during the amazing full day. We had a great time getting to feed, wash and take baths with the elephants. It’s a great experience for the kids, and adults, to see elephants up close, yet understand they are still wild animals and they need to be respected.

(Translated by Google) It was a very good experience. Better than going to ride an elephant or watch an elephant show again. This one captured the elephant. Walked with him I learned a lot about elephants. Here he accepts elephants with disabilities to make them have a better life. Very good experience Highly recommended (Original)

The most magical and special time at Elephant Rescue Park. Thank you for having us, and thank you for educating us on the beauty and importance of caring for these majestic animals. Our main guide Chai was very informative and knowledgeable on the elephants and was able to answer all the questions for him. We started off changing into our uniforms, listening to an introduction on the park's goals, missions and morals they have. We then fed the elephants their breakfast and went for a walk in the jungle with elephants alongside. After that what followed was bathing the elephants in a lake, giving them a scrub and cleaning them. We then had said goodbye to the elephants and were treated to a buffet lunch, it was amazing! This will definitely be a day that will always be remembered. Thank you to all those involved, we will definitely be back!

This is the tour that is rated high on Trip Advisor. There are several others by similar names but this one is the original. They rescue the elephants by purchasing them at very high costs and treat them as part of their family. Our tour guide was Chang who was very knowledgeable about the elephants as well as many of the plants and traditional Thai remedies. He was very funny and kept the group lively and entertained. You start by meeting the elephants and letting them get to know you while feeding them bananas and wearing traditional red thai clothes. You get to pet them and take pictures with them then take a walk up the hill with them and watch how they behave in nature. You then go down the hill and watch them bathe in the stream then they are taken to a pool where you get to bathe with them. Elephant Nature Park no longer offers this which is why we decided to go with this company. Very glad we did!

I was sceptical before coming in because of reviews of other places. I couldn’t be more wrong. From what I could see, the elephants are happy and treated wonderfully. I don’t want to spoil the visit to anyone, but the whole tour consists in taking care of the elephants (not the other way around) - as it should be. It is also clear the love and care the staff has for the elephants and also for providing a great experience to the visitors. Thank you guys so so much for this wonderful memory!

A wonderful experience. It’s important that as tourists we become aware that, while there are many options for elephant sanctuaries, not all of them are ethical and many of them mistreat these beautiful creatures. So many are just tourist traps. Elephant Rescue Park is one which really takes care of the elephants they rescue, you can see how good they get along with their care takers and they are not pushed or forced. Beware of any company that sells tours for less than 2000 baht, if they do, they are probably not benefitting the animals. I took the half day tour and everything, from the guides, their punctuality, the information, the cool new van, the meal and most importantly the treatment of the elephants was GREAT. Very well put together, great pace, wonderful experience. So greateful with our guide Am and the rest of the crew. Highly recomended.

We went to the Park with a 4 year old and a 6 months old baby. Everything was very well organized, you have enough time for each activity, no rush. Food was good even for a picky 4 year old and there are sofas and benches for breastfeeding and changing the baby. The staff is friendly, accommodating & helpful (one the members even rode a bike to the nearest store to get our kid a Coke). Our guide Shy was always ready to answer a thousand Whats & Whys coming from our child and made her feel safe and comfortable while playing with the elephants. Wouldn't recommend going there with kids in the summer, it was quite hot even in October, but I bet the experience would be even more enjoyable in the cooler months.

My boyfriend and I visited on the 17th December. All I can say is wow. We had researched a lot about which elephant place to visit and this one stood out. Once we arrived we knew we had chosen well. The whole atmosphere was so tranquil and peaceful. We learnt about the elephants and where they came from. You could tell that the people running this place really cared for their welfare. We were introduced to one of the elephants in the morning before we sat down and had lunch. They put on so much food for us it was incredible! After lunch we met the rest of the elephants and trekked through jungle and up mountains with them by our side! It was like taking your dog for a walk, they were so close and it was amazing to see these beautiful animals so happy in their surroundings. Our tour guide Arm was so helpful and answered every question we had in perfect English. Then the real treat came, we was able to get in the water with these gentle giants and give them a bath and back scrub. To be in the water with them was the most amazing experience of my life. If I could choose to live anywhere in the world it would be here. Your money really helps with the protection and welfare of these elephants and it was such an honour to help them. Please visit these guys and help them on their journey to rescue and save more elephants. I hope one day I can visit again and they have saved more and more elephants from torment. All I can say is thank you so much to everyone at the elephant rescue park. You will all hold a special place in my mind and heart for the rest of my life!

Amazing experience! Did the full day (program C) experience, and would highly recommend that one. The drive was easy from Chiang Mai with mostly city roads and only a little bit of mountain roads. The van was very nice, and had air conditioning. A huge win for Elephant Rescue Park is they actually had their company logo on their van. Literally no other tour company I have worked with in Thailand does that. What a relief to know for sure you're getting on the right van. Lots of fun with the elephants, with plenty of photo ops. Lunch was delicious and Pong was the best guide ever!! He was so funny and welcoming! Thank you, Elephant Rescue Park, for an amazing experience!! P.S. A suggestion would be to sell socks in your shop! So many people forgot to pack an extra pair of socks (including me, haha)! Great way to generate a little extra revenue 🙂

Visiting Elephant Rescue Park was an incredible and unforgettable experience. From my personal experience of feeding, walking, and bathing the elephants, the tour was very engaging and well-organized. Prior to meeting the elephants, our tour guide Sean provided us with a wealth of information about the elephants. It was very enjoyable to learn. I also appreciated the optional service of having a photographer document our experiences with the elephants. It was well worth the added cost. At the end of our tour, we had the pleasure of meeting the owner of the park. The hospitality that he and his staff showed us was commendable. I would wholeheartedly recommend this park to anyone visiting Chiang Mai. The level of care they show towards their elephants truly exhibit the sanctuary’s strong ethical commitment.

We had the pleasure of doing a private tour at the Elephant Rescue Park with Andy as our guide. We booked online, but I ended up reaching out via email to book our tour. We got to feed 6 of the elephants bananas and 2 of them chose to go on a walk with us after! Each of the elephants at the park have a live in caretaker paired with them, and they sleep in huts next to the elephants. We wore the red outfits so the elephants know that we are there to feed them, walk with them and bathe them! Our guide Andy was so knowledgeable and it was fascinating to see the elephants walk around doing whatever they wanted. They both had very different personalities. They eat so much!!! The older elephant tore down a whole banana tree and ate it along the walk lol. The younger one was scratching her body on anything she could find and eventually rolled around on the ground after we bathed her 🤣. Our guide said elephants only lay down when they feel safe, so it was so cute to see her being so playful. They are like big dogs!!! After the other 2 elephants walked back, we helped put herbs on an injured elephant that had a knee/leg injury from being ridden for many years. They boil herbs and medicine and then have to lightly 'whip' the wet rag with herbs onto the swollen limb. This was one of the best experiences of my life, and I'm so glad we found a park that creates a safe space for the elephants to play and heal while creating an enjoyable experience for visitors. 🤍🐘 Another huge shout out to our guide Andy for making this experience memorable in many ways, including taking beautiful candid photos of us with the elephants that we will look back on forever. It is clear that the people who work at this park have a genuine love for caring for these elephants. If you are researching multiple elephant parks to book with, I urge you to go with Elephant Rescue Park. You will not regret it!! And another piece of advice -- there are a lot of copy cat parks who try to trick you into thinking they are like the elephant rescue park, but they rent their elephants and some even let you ride the elephants. That is not good for the elephants, so be careful!

  • 5/5 FS 4 years ago on Google
It was an ethical elephant park. 7 elephants were there age 5 to 30+. They kept low guest numbers. Only 2 rounds a day so elephants didn't have to walk up and down so often. We walked up and down hills with elephants, feeding and bathing them. The lake water was clean and it was so fun. Big thanks to the owner and team for treating the recused elephants so well like family!

Such a great experience. If you are ever in Chiang Mai you have to do it. The elephants are so gentle. And it's amazing to be with them and see them walking next to you. The staff is very attentive to the elephants and they look after them properly. We opted for the half day tour and it was just great. We got to know the elephants story, then we fed them, then we went on a stroll, then we bathe them and we had a lovely cooked lunch.

  • 5/5 Michael S. 4 years ago on Google
With over 100 elephant parks around Chiang Mai you know this one is one to make a difference. From the very first moment you feel the passion of the staff, the mission to actually rescue elephants and not to keep them as an investment and the vast knowledge all around their well being. All elephants have a "life before" and you see that in scars. We were very cautious before about any activity related to wild animals but this park convinced us that this work is very much worth doing. Great how the park cares. The program is well chosen. You follow the elephants on their daily routines, can join them in having snacks and on their tracks to eat/ drink and have a bath. It's up to you and the elephants how close you relate which also means that some fancy green will be more important than you until the gentle giant was able to eat it. The staff is very friendly, caring, professional and gives you a great experience. All in all it's a wonderful experience and we recommend strongly to choose wisely a park that actually cares about elephants and not only presents them - this one does.

  • 5/5 Jonathan C. 4 years ago on Google
We have just returned from an amazing half day with the rescue park. Firstly, we would like to say a huge thank you to the marvellous staff. We enjoyed every moment especially when we got to see the seven elephants and they allowed us to join them in their morning routine. The walk in the park was fantastic as we were the elephant's guests and they dictated the pace and route. We've never experienced an elephant traffic jam but worth every moment we spent waiting for them to eat and show us their back garden. We can see why people volunteer as being with these elephants today is better than any therapy money can buy!

Walking with elephants through the jungle, then scrubbing them down after a hike up and down some hills. It is remarkable how quiet they are walking, you might not even hear them walking right behind you. Staff here was awesome and the elephants appeared to be treated very well.

I googled a lot about the elephant experience specially because I flew all the way to north of Chiang Mai just for that and as most of tourists nowadays I was not interested to ride elephants or spend my money into a park who didn’t take care of elephants. Until last minute I was so confused about my decision, I thought to go for the most expensive one (thinking it would be the best one), I asked some of my friends who did the experience and all of them told me different parks and they were also really happy with the experience, so I truly believe the top parks in Chiang Mai take care of their elephants sand it’s not only a business, but even with all that information I follow my instinct and I had chosen the elephant rescue park. I have to say I tried to have no expectations at all,

What a wonderful and special experience! the elephants are super cute, and you can tell that they are happy when they flap their ears when us approach them to feed them food. The guide was also very kind. Highly recommended!

Amazing place to get closer to animals who are treated well and not forced to do anything at all - beautiful memories and full uniform and shower facilities provided too - will definitely go back

This is the park to visit. A little bit more expensive than other parks BUT, you actually go to their sanctuary and they care so well for the elephants. Importing medicin and using herbal compresses for hurt elephants. We walked with the elephants and gave them bananas. At last we bathe them and said farewell. Will never forget this amazing experience and thank you all at Elephant Rescue Park for having us there. Special thanks to Mr Robert and Mo Pho for hanging out with us for the majority of our time there!

Beautiful experience, a must in Chiang Mai! Staff was really nice and looks like they treat the elephants really well. Although the full day was a bit too much for us, I would definitely come back for a half day trip.

Fantastic place and such a wonderful experience to feed, bath and walk with the elephants. There are a few shadey ‘sanctuaries’ out there, but the Elephant Rescue Park does a wonderful job of re-homing and caring for these magnificent animals.

This place was amazing and the staff are lovely, If you’re looking for an ethical elephant sanctuary this place would be my recommendation. The elephants are well looked after and very happy.

Thank you Kid, Poy and Pong for doing what you do for these beautiful creatures. We can tell how passionate you and your staff are. We enjoyed our time at the rescue park and our only regret is not staying longer. Me and my brother came here on the 25th of December (the two Hong Kong guys from New Zealand). We will see you again next time we are in Chiang Mai for an overnight stay. Please book directly from their website to save yourself from booking a tour with one with a similar name that could be potentially unethical!

Booked a morning private tour. Great experience with the elephants. Very professional, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Our private guide made us feel comfortable and was passionate about the park and the rescue of elephants. Loved everything and will recommend it to those interested.

Fun time with many CUTE elephants. ‘Nam Choy’ was the most cutest one having swags like a cool rapper 😎 Highly recommended place for someone who will visit to Chiang Mai.

A truly unique experience with the elephants at elephant rescue park, Chiang Mai. We booked a half day group tour to feed, walk and bathe the elephants and loved everything about it! Our tour guide was so informed about their elephants and we learned how intelligent, kind and friendly these animals are. We hope to come back again! Thank you for a great time! We loved what you've been doing for these animals.

Well worth a visit! We had an amazing time getting to feed, wash and mud bathe the elephants. You also get to learn a great deal about them too. It’s a huge expanse of land so the elephants are free to roam and find their own food and all seemed really happy. The lunch was really good too.
