Pleasant to walk beside (depending on the nearby traffic), especially as the sun is going down. Quite picturesque with flowers and illumination at dusk.

It's a beautiful piece of Chiang Mai history. One of the Original Forts on one of the corners of the Moat. It's slowly and carefully being restored, as are other parts of the original wall. It's usually lit up at night and has fountains working most days. I still love driving past it each and every time...I've done it dozens of times.

(Translated by Google) It is the southeast corner of Chiang Mai old town. This place is called “Chain Katam” in Northern Thai. “Chain (แจ่ง)” means “horn (มุม)”, and in this case, it refers to a defensive facility installed on the castle wall. It is the so-called “Horui” or “Ryoho”. "Katamu (ก๊ะ ต๊ำ)" is a word that means "fish take." A long time ago, there was a large marsh pond around the southeast corner of Chiang Mai. People say that when they came to this pond, they set up salmon and caught fish. It was a fishing ground for the people of the city. For this reason, this neighborhood was called “Katamu”, meaning “fish trap”. (Currently, the marsh pond has already disappeared, so it cannot be seen (landfilled). However, you can see the traces of the place names and temple names around here. The southeastern side of Chiang Mai has long been believed as a place that governs the city's “Energy (อุตสาหะ)”. It was considered an area where the energy that affects the defense and physical strength of the city stays.

Nice part of the old wall of Chiang Mai. There are nice flowers along the side of the moat next to this old fort. There's a fountain here but I'm not sure if it's on all the time. There are plenty of tress for shade. You won't need more than 5-15 minutes to take your photos. This attraction is free

Good for a stroll after day trip in the old city. It should be admired from acroos the moat and at the evening as it is lighted up. The fort is considered a historical and sacred site. Do not climb on it!
