Bodhi Serene is based in the Old Chaing Mai area, its lovely and well designed inside with zen like central place that has a nice ambience. Our room itself had some issues which let down our stay a little, the balcony door did not secure, there were issues with the room safe, the air con was weak and the fridge did not sufficiently cool drinks. The restaurant was closed so we could not try the food and breakfast was a set menu, not a buffet style or order of a menu style service. Some items appealed others did not. The staff were pleasant, respectful and helpful enough, however I was disappointed that on a number of occasions I was ignored as an English speaking half of the couple... the booking was paid for and organised by myself however the staff member spoke only to my partner. Meaning that key issues I required to clarify I had to press myself and have a Chinese whisper type of conversation, which was a little bizarre. Other than that we enjoyed our stay in Chaing Mai, and felt that the value for what is on offer here at Bodhi Hotel is not bad at all.

Superb location with good size rooms and a very reasonable price. Unfortunately lots of mosquitoes so we asked for the room to be sprayed daily, staff were great and it was no problem. Beautiful building but its a noisy hotel - both from neighbouring properties but also the hotel building just seems to be very echoey so you hear everything. Shower pressure is appalling as well as water temperature constantly fluctuating.

I've been staying in this hotel many years ago and I think the location is great, especially you wish to go to Sunday walking street, it's only in a short walking distance, felt a bit sad to see the shops in the neighborhood been closed down in this trip, which we had some good memories back then. We were appointed to room 115 at the first night, due to the low shower and the room is too dark, reception staff was very kind to offer us to move to 221, which is the same floor I stayed, I was very thankful as the whole atmosphere is different. It's more bright and nice sitting out on the balcony. During our stay this time, staff were all very friendly and helpful, minor problem like to fix the safe and TV channels, they helped us quickly. The room is spacious, I like the wooden floor and the hallway to the swimming pool is elegant and airy. It feels peaceful in the hotel. Glad that reception lady helped me to arrange yoga mat so I can practice in the room and balcony, it's really nice to exercise to hear birds sing. We joined the breakfast buffet on the first morning at $200 pp, the food served was less than the years we stayed. In fact there's great variety of breakfast places in the neighborhood too, that we explored already There's a 7-11 on the opposite side, good bars with live music next to the hotel, laundry, massage shops in few minutes walking distance.

Room was quite spacious. Accommodations a bit old but reasonable for this price point. I slept on the cot and it was not a real bed - it wasn’t long enough and was not a flat surface where my head and my feet were higher than the middle part of my body… wasn’t the best place to sleep on. Front desk was very helpful and accommodated my asks to switch rooms. My new room on the second floor is much better than my room on the first floor- much better sunlight, less mosquitoes (since the first floor room was right next to the pond) so I could actually enjoy the balcony. Located on a Main Street that had a lot of construction so was a bit more messy than an average old town main street, but still quite close to restaurants and various attractions. Despite being next to a Main Street, my room with a garden view was quite quiet.

I stayed 5 nights in this hotel. This is located in the old city so almost everything (including restaurants/cafés) you want to visit are within walking distance. The room was very spacious, had a spacious balcony (there was a small laundry drying rack as well) and AC unit was noise less and functional. Room had a very comfortable bed, reasonable size desk and dedicated small area for making tea/coffee. Bathroom had a spacious shower area and a large round bathtub. Hot water system was perfect. Some days I had breakfast (was not included in the room price) at the hotel but nothing special about it to mention. The view from the balcony of the room overlooking the garden and water features were very nice. You may need mosquito repellents if you want to sit outside on the balcony in the evening/night. Pool was great and towels were provided. My first day (check-in) experience was somewhat disappointing. When I entered the room, it was full of mosquitos, and I had to ask the reception to clean the room properly which they did promptly. The day I checked in, I found that the reception staff couldn't give me the impression of Thai friendliness and helpfulness. But this changed completely when I had to get my pre-departure Covid PCR test done (compulsory to enter some countries). Upon my request hotel organised this and the Lab (mobile unit) came to the hotel and did the test. Although the results certificate was supposed to come on the same day/next day morning, it never came and time was running out. At this point, the reception staff did everything to get my test results certificate. They called the lab/hospital (I suppose) multiple times (almost every 10-15 minutes) just like it is something personal for them. Ultimately the lab delivered (personally) the certificate (luckily the test was negative!!) and I was able to go to the airport in time. This is all about a great customer service. Again, a big thank to the reception staff.

Good price and good location. The room is spacious. The shower facility is a bit old and the water is not strong enough. The staffs are not very welcoming and try to avoid talking. A lot of mosquitos. Room ac is noisy. You can hear people walking upstairs and outside. They don’t always give bath amenities and have to always ask for it.

This hotel is awesome. Very centralize of everything. I definitely recommended. We have the 2 bedroom suite and love of how much space we have. The breakfast is awesome everyday. They try to change it a little bit and is a buffet style.

Friendly staff, but hotel is outdated and not same as in the pictures (anymore). Our room defintely needed to be refurbished. Huge bath in bathroom but tap didn't work well and staff tried to fix it, but weren't able to. So didn't use it at all. Can imagine budget issues due to Covid prevented proper maintaince. If maintained well, the location is great in the old town and would be a good place to stay.

No elevator. We stayed on the 3rd floor for 2 nights. We left the sign to clean our room, but they didn't come to provide more water and clean. When we arrived back to the hotel at night, the lights were off on our floor. We called them and they brought us water and more towels but left the trash and towels on the floor. The neighbors were loud. We requested to be moved to another room so they moved us. The actual hotel looks nice. I think if we stayed on a different floor, perhaps it could have been a better experience. The front desk staff are helpful and polite.

This boutique hotel lives upto it's name, totally relaxed and serene. I just love the place, it's so quiet here. It's ideally placed for exploring the Temples in the Old City. It has one main swimming pool and a second very small pool. Also a very pleasant open sided lounge area overlooking the garden whose fountains provide a lovely background relaxing sound. If you want a place to just come and chill, this is it.

very beautiful. my first night's room was the best i've ever had, and made me think i should spend more on hotels and resorts going forward (and it wasn't even really that expensive). Thankyou to all the staff 🙏

The hotel location is in the heart of the city. It is very easy to get around to Night Bizzare, Saturday market, and Sunday market. Lots of restaurants and close to laundry services and money exchange booth. Easy to grab tuk tuk. Alsother hotel is very clean an the staff is really friendly. Love the morning buffet selection.

Rooms are big, needs lots of grooming and touch up. Maybe COViD 19 effects. Staff were good they had to push our bags on ramp to the higher floors as there was no elevator. In the room not much supplies such as brushes or body cream. Breakfast was mediocre. Sorry, I will say it’s close to 2*. If they do a renovation, it can be a better looking hotel.

Our stay at the Bodhi Serene Chiang Mai was fantastic! The spacious, clean rooms with a large tub and shower, plus the beautiful fountain view from the sliding door, were impressive. The staff's kindness and the consistently fresh and delicious breakfast added to the charm. The hotel's ideal location, surrounded by great street food and markets, made it even better. What's more, the clean and refreshing pool on the 2nd floor, complete with a bar and restaurant, allowed us to enjoy a nice smoothie to stay refreshed in the heat. An outstanding hotel at an excellent price!

Rooms were large with a nice balcony overlooking a central water feature pond. Big beautiful bath that easily fits two people in it. Sadly the restaurant was not open during our stay and I feel it has been closed for quite some time which in turn makes me understand why breakfast was very lacklustre. Lucky the location is great for the night food markets which was full of delicious, well made street food. The pool is on the smaller side but great for a quick cool off. Limited shaded options for laying by the pool.

The location is hard to beat. Being able to walk to everything and come back to the hotel in between for a break is unbeatable luxury. The pool is really nice. I did find mosquitoes - in the room and especially the breakfast area. It would be great if the hotel could do something about them. All in all an excellent place to stay in Chiang Mai!

Beautiful hotel very friendly staff perfectly located but I give a 4 ⭐️ for the room and not 5 because the shower wasn’t very hot and the bath tub I couldn’t use because of the taps wouldn’t work but I do recommend this hotel, and I would return there again

Located in the old town of Chiang Mia this quite hotel is a great place to stay. The breakfast is good, the rooms are nice and there is a pool to cool down in. You can walk to a lot of places and transport is easy to get. There can be some noise from the frogs at night.

Beautiful hotel to stay at in Chiang Mai within the old town. Very clean and tidy hotel with beautiful layout. Room we had was very big. Shower pressure and temperature a bit eratic but only a minor niggle. Lovely pool area and breakfast very tasty. Nice to have orange juice that isn't just a mouthful of sugar.

We had a nice stay for 4 nights at the Bodhi Serene in Chang Mai. The hotel has an old authentic Thai feeling to it. We had a deluxe chamber. Great space, nice bathroom. The rooms an hotel are clean. Breakfast is ok but with limited choices. Nice Swimming pool with a very nice and speedy service. Staff is friendly. Location is A+... Thailand suffered financially during the pandemic and you notice it in a lot of places, including here. If the hotel could get an overhaul some time in the future, it could be your first choice.

This place exceeded my expectations, especially when considering the very fair (low) room rates they charge. The hotel is ideally located (can walk to restaurants and discotheque). It has a very nice swimming pool and even the standard room is generously sized and well maintained. The staff is very sweet and supportive. If you want to rent a motorbike you can rent in a shop 50m from the hotel (see my separate review of the shop).

I was one of your first guests many years ago. My travel mate was horrible but your hotel and your hospitality saved my trip. Think of your kindness often.

Great location and fun hotel atmosphere! Bed was VERY firm and the bathrooms were kind of dirty. Great food at the restaurant!

Our room was nice and spacious (got an upgrade) with a lovely feel and design. We had to ask to fix the bathtub drain and leaking basin in the bathroom. The shower water was also not draining because of the shower drain beeing clogged with hair. Our room was noisy when windows were open because of the neighbours" aircon and street noise. Other rooms seem to be more sheltered from the noise. Pool area is very nice. Breakfast is good, but service is lacking.

Had a peaceful 3 nights stay here in October 2022. I like the fact that it has its own courtyard and also in peaceful part of the old town. So we hardly hear the traffic especially the tuk Tuk that runs around the old town. The place is dated but at that price, I won't complain. It is quite comfortable actually. In fact, we made another booking for Feb 2023 for a few nights. As you leave the hotel, walk right and around the corner is our favourite Thai restaurant and the chabai spa. Sunday night market and other markets are all within 10 min walk.

Beautiful hotel property in Old Town. Their rooftop pool is gorgeous and their staff even helped us find space to practice morning yoga without being in the way of other guests. My favourite part of the hotel is that it is in Chiangmai Old Town, which allowed us to walk around wherever we wanted in the evening after finishing our day activities.

I stayed at this hotel every year. Because the hotel is small and old, but it is well maintained, beautiful, and the staff is kind. Before COVID-19, there was an airport pickup service and a welcome drink and afternoon tea service at a restaurant on the second floor. I hope COVID-19 ends soon and normalizes.

I checked out on January 4, 2021. My room has no window to receive natural lights despite most of the rooms are empty. The bathroom glass door needs to be fixed. During check out, the receptionist asked me to wait (to verify the room I suppose), after 5 minutes, I decided to pout the luggage in the trunk then came back. I was the only person standing and waiting in the reception area, so she clearly aware of it. I decided to ask after awhile, she replied no need to wait - no apologies but offer a disdain and arrogant glance back which makes me wonder if she is an owner. Those are small details, but the worst is that she doe not even wear a mask. Thailand is experiencing a 2nd wave of Covid-19!!!!

Great vibe, feels a little more tropical than the general mountain town setting outside. Rooms are spacious and homey, good ac, nice bed, bathroom is lovely. Pool is also really nice with those infinity edges and a sneaky lil mountain view. Can’t really fault the location with the gate market a short walk away. Staff are really friendly and the price is more than reasonable. Would stay again

An oasis of calm in a a city of fun. Our second trip with about 12 years in between but it is still just as lovely with quiet, attentive staff and even in CoVid times great service.
