First of all, the design of the lobby is really good, that’s what tricked us into thinking this was a good hotel. But once we got in our room, we realized few things. First, the room is absolutely not sound proof, since it is a family hotel we were waken up every day by children screaming and playing, people talking in the hallway, cleaning ladies chatting, etc… Also their is this weird electronic lock on every door that keeps beeping loudly when you open it so that also wake you up cause the walls and door are paper thin. Secondly we soon discovered that there was an awful smell coming from the think and it stayed for the entire week. The AC was directed directly to the bed wich makes it very unconfortable to sleep, the bed was really hard so it also makes it unconfortable despite the sheets being clean and soft. There was also a lot of other minor problems, Netflix not working on the tv, bad wifi that keeps asking you to log again, absolutely no water pressure in the shower (one of the worst I have ever experienced). To be fair the front desk people were nice and helpful but it doesn’t save this place from a one star review in my opinion

First of all, I want to thank you for making my perfect stay. I wish I could give more ⭐️ Perfect hospitality of the staff, and also the cleaners! The room was comfy. Breakfast was great. The swimming pool was great. The rooftop bar was amazing! This hotel has almost everything I need! Very quiet around the hotel and close to the airport. A few minutes by grab taxi to the old town. I could also walk to the night market to had Thai food. If there is one area for improvement, it's Wi-Fi. But that's not a big problem. The air conditioner smelled musty and I would like to see that improved asap. I will stay here again next time! Thank you so much🙏 HIGHLY recommend!!!!!!!

This hotel offers DIY type of services. We enjoy the sharing space downstairs and 24 hour coffee thing. Staff are nice and helpful but the rest of our stay was horrible. This hotel attracts younger crews who are super loud, and like partying. You will hear doors banging , folks shouting, get drunk almost all night. We woke up in the middle of the nights and looked outside the hallway and we saw what happened. In short, if you want to sleep well, basically don’t stay here.

ISTY has feel of a hostel. I stayed about 10 days. Most of the staff speak basic English. They sometimes did not understand at all, particularly one girl/receptionist. F. e. I told her to keep the breakfast for me if I am not there until 10. They were preparing vegan breakfast for me. Only 1 option for all 10 days. She said she would arrange it.The of my departure I came at 10.30 and the breakfast was not there… The swimming pool was quite good but located by the road so it was noisy sometimes, even trucks were passing by, very often motorbike. I was going to stay for about a months due to my flight cancellation at the time of the lockdowns. We agreed on a certain price for my long term stay. After 10 days they said (one male receptionist) that the price is higher, that it was only “promotion” at the beginning. I was really surprised to hear that. I found another hotel and left. I had constant issues with cleanliness. After cleaning, I always found a few things (fridge from outside,…) that had not been cleaned. even if I asked them to do the rest, they came and cleaned half of what I requested. The old cleaning lady seemed to be annoyed. The carpet that was on the floor on the corridor was awful, old, and full of big stains. Plus they never hoover it while I was there. I had to ask the receptionist if the could tell the cleaners to clean the lift. It was unbearably dirty, look like had not been clean weeks, which probably was not. I even could not see myself in the mirror properly. The cleaners cleaned it just a bit after my request.. The room was small so was the bathroom. The most efficient, friendly but still very professional, with very good English, was a receptionist Praew. She definitely deserves to be the front receptionist. Actually, I was surprised to see such a capable receptionist in such a hostel.

Amazing hotel with super friendly staff. We needed to extend our Visa and the guy at the reception was very helpful. He also was super polite and always sorted me out with ice cubes! The rooms were clean and spacious, nice interior as well. If you are a lover of Korean bbq, you will love this place since you in the middle of the 4 huge Korean bbq places restaurants (all you can eat for 3 euros). The roof top bar was really cool as well. I will definitely come back next time I’m in Chiang Mai!

Great value hotel! Rooms could be a bit cleaner but it was well equipped and the pool area and amenities that they offer are very good. Everywhere is easily walkable from the hotel too

One of the best hotels we have stayed at. Staff so so friendly and so welcoming. Free tea, coffee and hot chocolate was very nice. Lobby to work in which was calm and very relaxing. Rooms always left clean and tidy. Location good but 15 minute walk into town but didn’t mind that. Swimming pool was lovely and kept clean at all times. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

We had a very pleasant stay here. My partner had to go to the hospital and the staff was very helpful in arranging a quick taxi for us. Upon our arrival at midnight from the hospital we had not yet eaten. The staff was so kind to arrange a dinner for us to enjoy in our hotel room. Furthermore, the staff was very reactive, especially through FaceBook Messenger (there are no phones in the rooms). We experienced some disturbance by other guests late at night and the staff was very quick to resolve the matter. The pool, free ice cold water and coffee during the day were also perfect! Despite the hotel being a bit outside of the center city, it is a great location to enjoy the local food and arrangements as most activities can be found around the city instead of within the center. The city center is within a 10 minute taxi drive for a very convenient price. The staff was also happy to arrange this for us. Lastly, the WiFi connection was great and with good speed to enjoy a movie or series while cooling down. We definitely recommend ISTY Hotel for anyone searching a nice, sustainable and tidy hotel in Chiang Mai!

Super friendly and helpful staff, clean and spacious room, swimming pool and rooftop bar are a big plus!! 24I7 self-service for beers and chilled drinks in the reception. Very good value for money!

Isty is another hotel that has copied BED with minimalist hotels catering to tourists who are between backpackers and the 4* hotels. The rooms are smaller. The pool is nice. There are good breakfast options.

Stayed here in November 2023. Isty is a little quiet hotel next in a busy neighbourhood outside of Chiang Mai's Old City. It has plenty nearby, though mostly for locals, not tourists. Isty has a rooftop bar, which has a nice view of the surroundings. They were throwing free drinks at one night! Unfortunately, the room we were assigned was right next to the buffet door, which was a bit noisy in the morning. It also had a strong mould smell. Luckily, the staff was very helpful and sprayed something so that the room had a more pleasant smell over night, and also let us change rooms the next day, which didn't have either issue.

The hotel staff is amazing, they help us to solve any personal issue we have. Super reliable and kind. We stayed 4 days in the hotel, and we have been able to become friends with the lovely staff. You can book Thai tours directly from the front desk without any effort, they will manage everything for you. The food is delicious and the breakfast is rich. Fully recommended if you want to spend a relaxed days in Chiang Mai.

We loved our stay at the ISTY Hotel! Great open-air vibe in the lobby, pool, and free coffee and tea all the time. The room was very clean and modern, and the hotel was very quiet. We slept great. We booked a one night stay and ended up staying for four nights. Def recommend, especially for the price!

Very friendly and helpful staff. Food was fine. They have plenty of beverage selections, but only potato chips for purchasable snacks. The rooftop bar served good cocktails. It is in a dirty part of Chiang Mai.

Tea and coffee are unlimited downstairs and can be brought back to the room. Cutlery can be borrowed. Nice and quiet co-working space. Basic and cozy room, some with balconies. Highly recommended!

Loved this hotel! Staff were very friendly and speak English very well! They can also help you arrange activities such as an elephant sanctuary. Rooms are very clean, nice pool and working area!

Clean basic Scandic style rooms, highly recommend for digital nomads (great wifi and coworking space plus work station in room). Location probably not the best if you’re visiting Chiang mai as a tourist for the first time but it really suited me being a little out and a little less touristic. Very close to lots of vegan restaurants. Tops supermarket across the road very handy. A group of very old ladies arrived and the night receptionist guy was just letting them all struggle with luggage so I’m glad I was there to offer help. All in all a great stay and would stay again.

It has been almost 3 years since I have visited Isty Hotel. I did not sleep in the room, but I have met all the staffs including Woody, the owner! He loves to chill, treat his guests well and make sure they have good time, and he loves good music! I happened to play his guitar and sing in the cafe and really enjoyed it there.

Nice hotel with reasonable price. The room is spacious with little garden view. There are toilettry (need to prepare body cream and conditioner) and bath towel. The only thing that I dislike was the ceiling quite low but cannot complain with good price.

Hotel room and facilities are very well maintained. You can always see the staffs doing their job, yet cheerful. We rented motorcycles from the Reception and was delivered fast. Breakfast is also quite affordable.

We really enjoyed our stay in the ISTY hotel. The hotel has a good vibe, nice rooms, and a lovely rooftop bar. Located outside of the old city, which requires a short taxi to town. Very attentive staff. Will come again. (Really good coffee too.)

Lovely place to stay. Staff are very friendly and can't do enough to help you. The rooms are modern and comfortable. The pool is a nice escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The food is tasty and the roof top bar is cool with a perfect atmosphere and excellent drink selection. Would definitely recommend!
