I loved it here. Everyone was so nice. The rooms were nice and clean, as were the bathrooms. The hostel is situated in the old town, but in a quiet area. Highly recommend!

Really great hostel! Staff were so friendly and helpful throughout. The beds are spacious and comfy and the living areas are really well kept. Great location to local markets and bars. Hostel has a really nice chilled vibe and great for meeting other travellers. Great value for money.

Amazing place with super kind and helpful staff who will become more like friends by the end of the stay. The people who stay there are also pretty cool and there’s a social vibe without it being centered around partying which was perfect for me. Very clean bathrooms with hot water. Free breakfast was simple but all you need, fruits, oats, cereal. Beds were very comfortable with some level of privacy with a half divider. Overall great place to relax on your travels.

Very clean and quirky hostel. The staff was VERY helpful with booking tours and giving us ideas for what to do around town. The rooms had AC, which was nice. It was be a bit noisy at times, but I have come to expect that in a hostel. The location was great - quiet but in the middle of the old city. They had bikes and scooters to rent and a nice light breakfast every morning with fresh fruit and baked goods.

I give it three stars instead of less because they kindly offered to refund my last night when I told them that I would not stay. The previous night, I left in the middle of the night to go to a hotel - the first time I have ever done this - for a few reasons. Mainly, the rooms are very stuffy and the AC simply does not work despite repeated efforts to adjust the settings. It blows air, just not cool air, even when it’s set to the lowest possible temperature. And the cool outdoor air doesn’t penetrate the rooms because there’s no ventilation. I raised this issue with staff after my first night, and their response was, and I quote: “I know, right?!” No effort was made to fix the AC; they instead suggested that I wasn’t used to Thai AC, though I had already been in the country for four weeks by that point. Other annoyances include light that pours in from the hallway, where the lights are usually kept on or turned on at all hours; lockers that make loud creaky noises; and probably worst of all, the place seems to attract rude clientele. I booked a mixed dorm room but was in an all male room, and over the course of a three night stay there wasn’t one night when doors weren’t slammed at 2am or lights weren’t left on in the hallway area. In my opinion the beds were nothing special, standard very firm Thai mattresses. The staff do make an effort to ask guests about their plans each day. They also have a range of packaged tours on offer, which many guests are interested in. The coffee, tea, bananas, and cereal at breakfast are a nice touch. Location is excellent. So it may be a good fit for you, it just wasn’t for me.

Friendly friendly staff, clean and comfortable hostel, comfy beds and nice AC. Very little hot water after 9pm. The bunk beds and ceilings are high so you don't feel cramped on bottom bunk at all. Possibly THE hostel with the largest beds! Breakfast consists of boiled eggs, bread and croissant, jam and butter, pineapple, papaya, watermelon, orange juice, milk, water and instant coffee. I stayed at a 6 mixed room for my first two nights, then switched to 4-female room for 4 nights. The 6 mixed feels crowded, room feels smaller, definitely noisier and unsure why the windows are opened, earplugs are necessary! Guys will use the girls washroom on this floor because they don't care. And drunk guys will vomit on the floor, no joke. The 4-females room is located on the fourth floor, the 4 people room is much more spacious and no guys to use the bathroom here. I highly recommend booking the girls room!!

My stay at the hostel was marred by a night shift staff member who seemed unaware of common sense, displaying rudeness throughout. Their lack of customer service skills significantly detracted from the overall experience, and I strongly advise reconsidering the retention of such employees to maintain the hostel's reputation. My stay was far from pleasant, and I would hesitate to recommend this place to others.

One of the best Hostels I stayed in so far. It’s a great place to socialize, build connections with other travelers and cheap as well. The Hosts (YaYa & ChaCha) try to make everything possible and were incredibly helpful in planning my trip in Thailand and my stay in Chiang Mai. The dorm and sanitary rooms are very clean and have separated showers and toilets wich is uncommon in Asia. If you are NOT looking for a party hostel but still want to socialize - look no further! Thank you for the last couple of days - I’ll be coming back for sure!!

Can not speak more highly of this hostel! Very clean, well-located, clean, comfortable. Both hosts were very very friendly and helpful in trip planning. Other guests were great to meet. Also very well-priced. Located in center of old city on a quiet street, which was a perfect location for me! Also beds were comfy and long. Thank you for hosting me Yaya and Shasha!

What a dream of a place. Staff ridiculously nice and helpful. Place is spotless, beds are comfy. Noisey American tourists are thankfully few in a number. Only slight slight I think social opportunities to interact with others is limited. Small communal area with a few games. Be cool if they did a few activities or a more extensive collection of games.

Very nice hostel, clean and central. Amazing vibes and people, they have a light breakfast included. They provide you all the services you need: motorbike, taxi services and other exursions

Great place to stay!! Staff is really nice and always open to help the guests. Facilities are also great and the common area is perfect to meet people if you are traveling alone🙌🏽

Probably the best hostel I was staying in. If you want to meet best people stay here. Lots of fellow travellers. Very comfortable beds with at least some privacy. Rooms are big, so even staying in 10 bed dorm it doesn't feel like is crowded. Big lockers. Good ac, and clean. Comfortable and big common space downstairs to eat, drink, chill or just work Staff was lovely - talkative and helpful. Just round the corner from market Street and 2 minutes from 7/11. Highly recommended. Thank you, I will be back.

This hostel located in the heart of Chiang Mai has undoubtedly earned its spot as one of the most exceptional destinations I have stayed at during my 2 1/2 months of traveling. The convenient central location is just one of many features that make this hostel a top pick for travelers. The building and facilities boast modern and up-to-date designs with artistic touches throughout, creating a charming atmosphere. The semi-private rooms have comfortable beds with high-quality linen and are thoughtfully constructed to minimize noise. The air conditioning units work efficiently, ensuring guests' comfort during their stay. The hostel features multiple toilet and shower stalls in their bathrooms, making waiting times rare. The layout and construction of the hostel were carefully planned to create an environment that caters to travelers' needs. Cleanliness is a top priority, and guests can store their valuables in the lockers provided in their rooms. In addition, the hostel offers free drinking water and hot tea in their ground floor social room. The complimentary breakfast may be simple, but it is a nice touch that is much appreciated. The hostel also provides ample tour options for guests, making it easy to plan and book adventures. To maintain a clean environment, the hostel enforces a "no footwear" policy within the building. What sets this hostel apart is the warm and hospitable staff who are eager to assist guests and take the time to get to know them personally. Their genuine and friendly demeanor is unforgettable, and I will certainly miss their smiling faces. Overall, this hostel is highly recommended for travelers looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Chiang Mai.

The employees are extremely friendly and accommodating. I had questions about renting bikes, tours, and other activities. The staff were knowledgeable and had great recommendations. They even helped us out by booking a motorbike rental for us!! All in all if you’re a backpacker, solo traveler or traveling couple, you can’t go wrong with Green Sleep and it’s central location in Chiang Mai. My only complaint is that the private bedroom doesn’t have a private bathroom. But the shared bathrooms were very clean and easy to use.

This hostel is the best for people who like a calm and yet social environment. You can do your own thing and can also easily strike a conversation with your hostel mates from around the world, so it was a perfect mix of both. Rooms and beds are very cozy. Everything is well maintained and super clean. The location of hostel is perfect, 15-20 mins from airport and railway station. All attractions are nearby too. And of course, the staffs - Shasha, Moon, Neu, they all make you feel at home. I ended up staying more than 15 days and will stay again whenever I am there.😊

Warm welcome, comfortable beds, everything a backpacker might need. Love grows here! Will stay again when in town.

Amazing hostel! I stayed here for two weeks. The staff (Mon, Shasha, and Darren) are all very lovely. The hostel was clean and tidy. The beds are very comfortable. The common areas are spacious. Plenty of room for everyone. There’s comfy couches too. The facilities are very good. There’s washing machine and dryer in the hostel. There’s work tops and a computer. The hostel is in the perfect location. Right in the center of the old town but away from the main road. There’s a temple within less than a minute walk that offers meditation classes and Buddhist study day. The Sunday market is less than a minute walk from here. There’s free breakfast included. It’s cheaper to extend your stay directly with them rather than Doing it on Booking/Agoda/HostelWorld. The hostel has very social vibe. I’ve met a lot of amazing people here. I’ve recommended this hostel to other people I’ve met while backpacking. I really enjoyed my stay in Green Sleep and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Chiang Mai.

Great chill hostel, facilities were perfect especially for the price of the dorm rooms, free breakfast and coffee. Staff were very helpful, warm and friendly. Location is great too right in the middle of the old city.

Nice and friendly staff. Hard beds but not too bad. Clean rooms and bathrooms. Shower water is hot sometimes. No actually judged to cook in but you can chop a piece of fruit and take some tea. Breakfast is cold cereal and fruit. Just come, first serve. Met some really really really interesting people here. Don’t forget your key fob if returning after 10pm. You can get locked out and then I’ll have to sleep outside with the roaches and rats!!

Very nice staff and great location in the city. Its a calm and quiet hostel. The airconditioning was very loud tho. They provided a small breakfast with fruit and cereals which was very nice. And they have laundry service for 30 baht. We stayed over Halloween and they had free face paint for everyone :)

Cute place to stay literally in the centre of Chiang Mai. Hidden in a small quite street. Very nice and helpful staff, cozy atmosphere, possibility to work in the common space, very clean, cheap self service laundry, small breakfast in the morning. Stayed in the private room with shared bathroom, it was convenient, no problem at all.

I booked two nights in the hostel at first but after one night I booked for more nights because it was so nice! The hostel is in great location in the old Town of chiang mai (right in the middle). The hostel is super clean and you have everything you need- from small and nice kitchen, a computer to shampoo and soap at the shower. This hostel workers are the best! They helped me with everything I needed and were so nice! They also booked for me and my friends a good driver in excellent price for full day trip. My stay at this hostel was the best and would totally recommend it!

I've been travelling for 2 months now and this is easily the best hostel that I have stayed in. The location is superb right in the center of the city. Super clean, tidy, stylish, great beds, showers, toilets, included breakfast is really nice and the staff are super nice. Mon and Pem are super friendly, fun and helpful, they made my stay great. Would recommend.

Clean bed, dry toilet, that's what I need. Simple. Need to update the Gmaps location I think. Always show the location in front of the police station instead of the alleyway.

My ONLY complaint is the size of the private double room. It was a claustrophobic closet with 1 depressing yellow light bulb and blank walls. If you are staying in the dorms 10/10 recommend. It’s a super cute hostel with helpful staff and it is PRIME location. You can walk to the temple in about 5 minutes. Overall great place!

This was a very clean and comfortable hostel with very nice staff in a quiet area of the old city. They offer a great free breakfast which consists of pineapple, watermelon, toast, cereal and boiled eggs. It's not the most sociable hostel, however has a nice open area by reception. Only let down was the constant playing of music which was okay at points but get a bit annoying if it's from when u wake up until u go back to bed. You can also rent bikes from them for 200 baht per day and the staff are always willing to help you out with planning what to do or how to get somewhere.

I stay for four nights in a female dormitory. Very friendly staffs. Everything was also so clean. The bed sheet so thick and warm. Added point, it’s located in a quiet neighbourhood, perfect for some resting after a long day exploring Chiang Mai.

Amazing hostel! Very good rooms with plenty of space, super clean and comfortable. The staff is super friendly and thoughtfull. Breakfast is good and the bathrooms are clean. Super recomend this hostel if you are going to Chiang mai! It's near the center and has everything you need nearby.

This is my go-to hostel in Chiang Mai. Beds are clean, cheap, good quality. The staff speaks good English and are very helpful. I always stay in the mixed 12-person dormitories and each bed is very private (partial wood wall to the hallway and enclosed against other beds), has a light, outlet, and small shelf. It is very centrally located at the heart of old city, so easy to walk anywhere within the city walls. It is also at one end of the Sunday Night Walking Street market.

  • 5/5 Isabell D. 1 year ago on Google
Had a great time here twice. Stayed for 2 nights first and another 2 nights after a short stay in Pai. The girls were so cute and lovely. They enjoy talking to you and to spend some of their time with you. Rooms were big and beds were extremely comfy. Never had a bed like this in a Hostel before and I traveled a lot. Only one thing which can be a little improved - pretty much at any time there were many black hairs in the bathroom. Plus one day there was no toilet paper on any toilet. Took me two times to get any. Still loved this place, the vibe, the ladies, the room so much - absolutely worth 5 stars!

  • 5/5 Maurice S. 1 year ago on Google
The hostel is really good located in the middle of the old town and also one street next to the sunday market walking street. It is perfectly clean and well looked after. The manager and the staff are absolutely amazing, they are lovely and really caring.
