Great hotel that mixes traditional decor with modern facilities and service. Ideal location at the edge of old town with many restaurants and bars nearby. Luckily the property is located in an alley, so you don't hear much from the party noise. Rooms are spacious and have a balcony or direct pool access. Extensive breakfast buffet, two pools, and cooking classes keep you entertained. Limited parking in front, but I only used it for drop-off, so not sure if there's a fee to park overnight. Would definitely come back.

We stayed three nights in a pool access room, and this hotel truly felt like home. Friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast buffet (and great packed breakfast when we went on an excursion early one morning). Perfect location in the Old City while also being so quiet and relaxing, with beautiful landscaping and greenery. Lovely lounging area by the main pool, plus a smaller pool in the back accessed directly by three of the rooms. There are tons of hotel choices in Chiang Mai, but I would pick this one again 100 percent!

We had an amazing stay! Very spacious room & bathroom. We booked the Pool access room and did not regret it.The pool is a little bit hidden and therefore none of the other guests used it often, which was great. The staff was always very friendly and attentive. The breakfast was good but could have more choices, such as more different fruit options or a special which changes daily. The location was absolutely amazing, we could reach all the sights in walking distance. Car parking was also always available and free of charge. We will definitely be back if we ever come back to Chiang Mai!

Beautiful and clean hotel. Big rooms and I really loved the bathroom design. Staff were so helpful, helped us book tours. Breakfast is ok but the staff would go out of their way to offer food you have not tried. Off the main road but it is ok.

A real gem in the heart of the old town. Beautiful taste, nice local plants and even a squirrel zipping around seen from the lovely balcony. The most friendly and welcoming staff. Quiet and peaceful, nice pool and good breakfast.

Beautiful hotel in a great location. Off the main roads so is quiet, while only being a 5 minute walk from the Sunday night market. Service and amenities have were exceptional. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was also great, with a selection of both western and Thai options.

Such a great stay for my first time in Chiang Mai. Loved the architecture of the boutique hotel and service we received. Even the note and fresh fruit was a nice touch.

Truly an architectural masterpiece tucked away off the main road. Close to all major attractions, markets and temples. Safe for women and solo travelers. Loved the service and amenities. Pool is refreshing!

Thai Akara Lanna was a beautiful little boutique hotel nestled in the old centre of Chiang Mai. All around it were shops, cafes, bars, restaurants etc. All within walking distance. Everything was accessible. But the staff of the hotel were impeccable and so helpful. They went beyond their means and that is first class service. There's a beautiful pool in the middle of the courtyard and the cocktails were fantastic. I can't wait to return. Five star service.

We just had a lovely stay here for 3 nights. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed in 3 different rooms for the 3 nights (our choice). I really liked the aesthetics of this place by day and by night. Food is also good and reasonably priced including the buffet breakfast, and staff really aim to please. The only down side was in inconsistent hot water flow in one of the three rooms we stayed in. If you are looking for a cosy hotel with character, this is it. We also found it convenient to get to night markets and other attractions using Grab cars. Rooms are not v large but double bed is 7 feet wide. I could also walk to good food and massage nearby.

Absolute FAVORITE hotel in Thailand! We cannot sing the praises of this place loud enough. The room was spacious and clean, well-equipped and quiet. The breakfast was amazing and not to be missed. Easy walking to nearby vendors. We will never forget the staff making a point to wish my husband a happy birthday and spread the word to celebrate him, they were all so friendly, kind, and accommodating. This is the new standard for any future hotel stay for us!

We were here for 7 days and the stay was perfect. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Also the hotel is conveniently located to explore the old town of Chiang Mai. I would definitely come back to this little gem.

Fantastic hotel! The rooms were a great size and one of the comfiest beds we had across all of Thailand. Pool area is divine, perfect spot to unwind and escape the late afternoon heat. All the staff I dealt with were amazing. We had a tour picking us up at 7am which we spoke to the staff about and they organised us takeaway boxes from the buffet without us even having to ask them.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of the old town square. Perfectly located in a small soi near to some amazing temples within a 5 minute walk. Room size is generous with great facilities, luxurious bed and decent shower. Hotel staff are friendly and welcoming. The breakfast is great with a variety of choice and a special menu every day. Recommended.

I think this might be the best place to stay in old town. It was the nicest place we stayed in Thailand outside of the Waldorf Astoria in Bangkok and this was much cheaper ;) The aesthetic of the hotel is really luxurious and the property is hidden down an alley which makes it feel very secluded. Can’t beat the location if you want to stay in old town, and I think it’s perfect for anyone coming to town for a few days.

I do not give many 5-star reviews, but this hotel deserves one. Beautiful property, great rooms - nicely furnished with a balcony, all the amenities, and the perfect shower . bathroom. Staff is incredibly helpful and friendly - and when we asked for a restaurant recommendation - they actually referred us to a place that served great Thai food (and not bland farang food that most other hotels will refer Westerners to.) We liked the location, too - right in the heart of Chiang Mai - but in a quiet spot for a nice restful sleep.

Amazing boutique hotel in the heart of the old town yet tucked away so the hustle of the city doesn't seem to be a nuisance. Very friendly staff with a remarkably affordable in-house service. I highly recommend this for an amazing trip to Chiang Mai.

Comfortable hotel in a quiet area of Chiang Mai city. Big bed and clean room. The only weak point in my opinion is the breakfast (not a lot of choice and not so tasty). But you can find good coffee shops in the city, around the hotel so it is not a big deal 😊

Me and my husband have come to this hotel twice within two weeks we are traveling throughout Thailand, we were here about two weeks ago then we went up to Chiang Rai, but we had to come back here because we love this hotel so much the staff are so lovely and friendly! And the hotel and grounds are absolutely beautiful! Beautiful breakfast! Lovely setting! You will indeed find peace and tranquility at this hotel in the heart of the old city!

This is an excellent hotel . Even though it is inside the town , the hotel is in a little street so you don’t here any cars pass by . The rooms are good, as well as the swimming pool and the fitness room. Special thanks to the hotel staff , you were extremely nice!

First time in Chiang Mai and glad we chose Thai Akara over so many other options here. Location is great and centralised to many of the attractions. The hotel feels like a resort of its own in the city. Rooms were clean and breakfast was great. We enjoyed ourselves here. Special mention to the receptionist, Kansiri.K, she is polite and informative. Thank you for making our stay here memorable! Highly recommended and would choose Thai Akara when we are back again.

Was here for 3 nights with my friends and we had such a pleasant stay. The hotel was beautiful and felt like a nice resort in the midst of Chiangmai city. The environment feels different the moment you step in. The rooms were clean and well-furnished with all necessities provided. Room is always tidied daily after we step out (you can choose not to, too). The reception staff were really kind, friendly and helpful. They also speak pretty good English so you don’t have to worry about any communication barrier. It’s important to me that the hotel’s staff are dependable when I am in a foreign country and I am glad I found that here! The hotel breakfast (served from 7-10am) does not have a wide selection but it’s relatively decent. I enjoyed the eggs. There’s a poolside bar that operates till 8pm too. Location of this hotel was great! There’s lots of restaurants and cafes within walking distance. Would recommend Coconut Shell, they have really good and affordable Thai food. They are also located near the Sunday Night Walking Market, don’t miss it while you are here! But in any case, you can easily book a Grab anywhere. The only gripe would be the non-existent hotel wifi connection (but we did not ask about it since we had our wifi egg). Oh and being the corner room close to the street, we could hear club music at night :’) It’s not loud since it’s a distance away, but kinda annoying when you are about to sleep - not that the hotel can do anything about this. Overall, would still highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Chiangmai.

Good location, Wonderful rooms and quaint property, But we found it to be too expensive relative to other boutique hotels and not worth ( room service only till 3 pm, average breakfast - we had much better in more budget hotels ) , no valet ( they have a difficult approach to parking ). Staff service was average. No welcome drink or towels which was a usual at even the budget hotels. Considering the alternatives, we'd recommending other boutique hotels
