Absolutely blown away by this hostel, its host and the other employees there! By far the best budget hostel I've been to in Thailand. You can tell the host takes great pride in what she does! Top quality breakfast and dinner included. Perfect place to meet people and share your stories. I won't be staying anywhere else besides here from now on when I'm in Chiang Mai. Much love ❤

The owner, Noi, behaved terribly. She yelled at me in front of all the customers and had an extremely unpleasant attitude. This morning, my Airbnb host took me to Noi’s shop to rent a scooter. She was very busy, and I waited there until another woman eventually provided me with the scooter. She asked me to fill up 50 THB for gas, which would be the full tank, but didn’t explain the ‘pick up empty and return empty’ rule. When I returned the scooter, I asked about it again, and suddenly, Noi started yelling at me, calling me stupid for not understanding their gas rules. She also mentioned “she didn’t pay” in front of all her customers, even though they asked for a 1000 THB deposit and 250 THB upon return. She made it seem like it was all my fault. Noi is the worst I’ve encountered during my 1.5 weeks in Thailand so far. It was a nightmare. I really don’t want to see that face and attitude ever again.

We had a lovely time at Nuy's place. She was a great host, looking after the guests as her own family. Also, the free community dinner is a great opportunity to meet other travelers (plus eating amazing food). Highly recommended it!!

It's the best place I've stayed in. Not the fanciest, that's for sure, but it really feels like home. Price is ridiculously cheap (considering the included breakfast and dinner), the rooms are quite nice and there's always someone to talk to/make plans with in the table outside. And of course, Nuy is the best 🥰

It's cheap and the owner is nice and helpful, you'll easily get in contact with other travellers - but you can expect nothing more than that. We did not get the room that we booked and considering other reviews this is normal practice. We were located in a total different location that was not well maintained, not clean at all. We only stayed one night and booked a different hotel. The owner was however cooperative when we let her know that we wanted to cancel the other nights which was fair.

Nuy's "Like Home" has got everything to deserve absolutely 5 stars. Free dinnerbuffet, free bicycles, free transfers, free laundry. Great staff of volunteers, Frankie, Rufus, Danny. It's cheap; I got my room already at 9.00am, Nuy sometimes treats me as a VIP. And it's the hostel with the best atmosphere ever. But it's so crowded and busy that Nuy makes mistakes like with bus bookings, room not available so be placed 20 minutes away. She doesn't seem to admit the mistakes. And one of the staff volunteers can be arrogant and rude to certain customers (like me), really unpleasant and unprofessional. So maximum 2 stars unfortunately, but gets easily 5 when things solved.

Stayed here for a total of about 9 days. Received a room outside of the hostel proper (about a 4 minute walk) in an apartment complex. Room was fine. Not great, not bad, but fine. Some maintenance it could use, but it's serviceable. Downside of the location is that it's somewhat noisy down by the parking lot in the atrium. Water tank located on the roof causes the water to be boiling hot between 13:00 - 19:00 and the heater/cooler didn't function. Wi-fi is surprisingly good. A/C worked great. Room was spacious with a large desk on the side. If you happen to need to get some work done, you can use the room as an in-house office if you need it. Price of the room per night is 400bht which is fair. However, what is an otherwise 'ok' stay is a great one thanks to its incredible service and hospitality. Calling a hostel 'like home' sets a high bar in expectations, and it doesn't just deliver, but exceed past said expectation. Nuy (and her staff) does her best to really make it feel like home for her guests. There's a great vibe at the hostel all day round, making for a really pleasant atmosphere. If you're in the mood to meet people, the hostel facilitates it excellently. Your booking comes with breakfast and dinner included. Nuy isn't just a great host, but also a good chef, because the food is absolutely excellent. Me and two others I've met here all work in a kitchen and had a conversation on it, and all three of us unanimously agreed the food was great. Incredible hostel. Nuy is a fantastic host and took great care of everyone at the hostel while I was there. The free breakfast and dinner are superb. Nuy was also able to arrange discounted tickets for Muay Thai and trips to see elephants. This is very much a budget hostel so if you want luxury, look elsewhere. But in terms of atmosphere this is certainly the best place I've stayed in Thailand.

Most lovely place to stay at. The host (Nuy) is helpful in every way and makes you feel "like home". The rooms are also nice and there is a possibility for airconditioning (450 baht). In this price there is also a delicious breakfast, free laundry and dinner included which makes it very cheap and attractive. There's also a lot of nice people there to chill with. Big recommendation to stay at!

We were here in January and really liked it. The room is okay (ours was at a different place than the hostel, approximately 5 mit by foot away). But the service and food (also always vegetarian options) were unbelievable good. The dinner is really nice because all guests come at same time together. Also laundry and motorbike for rent available. We still like thinking about our time at Like Home and our host nuy.

Wonderful place to stay in Chiang Mai, Nuy is the perfect host. I've often came back to Like Home in the past years and the last time I also brought my daughter with me. Highly recommended!

Met amazing people there. Athmospere is really Like home!!! For me it was like in summer camp. Close to the "square city center". Breakfast & very tasty dinner is included in price! Also the laundry. Scooters could be rent as well. The owner has different rooms in different buildings nearby, but everyone gathers to eat&talk&play in one place!

Best Hostel in Thailand so far! Nui (the Host) is super sweet and cooks every evening for the guests for free. Breakfast and Dinner are included in the price and are really nice events to socialize a bit. We had a really nice little privat room with ac. You can also get a bycicle for free or a motorbike for 100baht. Nui is super sweet and does her absolute best to ensure that everybody is happy. Cant recommend this place enough!!

This Hostel was amazing ! Nuy and everyone else were so helpful and kind.The Hostel is perfect for meeting other travellers and the breakfast and dinners taste amazing! We originally only booked to stay for one night but ended up staying for 3. The hostel is spread across 3 buildings but all within walking distance and people were happy to help with the bags.

Best Hostel in all Thailand ! Nui always put the best vibe ever in the house, and for the price a a room or a dorm, you get an amazing breakfast + dinner !! Wich is not mentioned on any booking platforms so it comes as a surprise . Also 100 bath motorbike rental for guest. Can't beat any of this 😍

I am a long-term customer of Like home (5 months already). the host, Nuy, is a wonderful kindhearted lady who has been helping me at lot. (discounts in tours, boxing matches, motorcycle rental, sometimes even groceries). She even helps out guests with money problems by offering them free room and board if they can help her with daily chores. (Sadly quite a few of them complain a lot and are not very good at what they are doing. This has led to some unfortunate misunderstandings and bad customer experience.) Though she is always overworked and often very busy, she tries her best to provide the best service possible. (after all, it is not easy managing a hotel of this size by herself.) So if this is your first time visiting Chiangmai, I wholeheartedly recommend Like Home (especially the dinner buffet cooked by Nuy)

I came to see Nuys during the covid to rent motorbikes I remember Nuy is very nice, 1 and a half years later big disappointment for me who recommended her to my friends to rent a scooter and well it's over not because of her because she is very nice but because of the new person who takes care of managing the rental the young man with long hair is very insolent incompetent looking for small problems to recover the deposit and make me want to never come back because of his attitude it's allowed to provoke me and tell me that I was tense and to tell me that I had scratched the bike and that I was lying he told me insolently: don't worry it's nothing they all made mistakes they are human but strangely when Nuy is arrive and stop her saying that it wasn't me he seemed very disappointed and insisted to her that it was me who had scratched the bike but she told him to stop again. it's a small attitude to repeats that doesn't give a customer a chance to come back, too bad I won't recommend it to my friends anymore and I won't come back, that's how to lose a customer. too bad because I really liked going to her house Nuy remains an adorable woman, I hope this story will help for change management

My husband and I stayed here four nights and it was awesome! We got a private room (nothing fancy) with a bathroom which was a very basic room but everything we needed. The dinners were so delicious and breakfast was excellent (eggs and toast made to order and fresh fruit)! It was really nice having the free food included in the accommodation price and free laundry, wow. Nuy treats guests like kings and queens, she is amazing. She is very helpful with booking train and bus tickets and any events you want to do in and around Chiang Mai. Sin was also awesome and helpful! We loved our stay!!

Most affordable, comfortable and best value accommodation in Chiang Mai. Close to everything. You can do and get anything you want here and it’s all cheap or free as a guest. Highly recommend.

Stayed here for 4 nights. The owner Nui is honestly the best host I’ve ever come across. She is very kind, friendly, and welcoming. They offer free breakfast, dinner, free laundry, and transportation to wherever you plan to go next. The dinner is buffet style, and WOW they make many variety of foods every night and they’re top notch delicious! Honestly, you can’t find anything better than this. When we had problems with our door locks, Sin (a volunteer) helped us to try open the door. He was very kind and friendly as well! If you’re ever in Chiangmai, definitely recommend Like Home!

The owner, Nuy is absolutely such an incredible lady. She instantly makes you feel “like home”, which makes sense why it is called Like Home😊. She provides free breakfast and dinner for all the guests and there is free coffee, tea, and water available all day long. She also books bus tickets, excursions, and rents motorbikes for very reasonable prices. She even lets you barrow bikes that she has if you’re not comfortable riding a motorbike! This place is an absolute hidden gem! Will be staying again for sure!

Amazing experience. I Was not expecting to stay that long at the beginning. But I was stunned by Nuy warm welcome . She took care of me and was very helpful to organise trekking and give any touristic advices . She gave the best prices for taxi and any touristic things to do . She cooked for us breakfast and dinner . The community feeling at dinner time is amazing . Never met so many peoples and socialised a lot . She even gave me a free lift to the airport I really feel like home and thanks Nuy for everything.

If you ever visit Chiang Mai. You have to stay with Nuy, at her hostel "Like Home". It truly is like home, as the name suggests. There you will be greeted by awesome people and a welcoming atmosphere. There is also free breakfast, dinner and bicycles for guests to use. She also has free water to refill your water bottles with. Moreover, the location is prime as its close to all of the markets such as, the night bazaar, the Saturday and Sunday market and the old city wall along the square. You can also walk to the bars and many restaurants that are near by. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone who wants a slice of home away from home.

Such an amazing place to stay in Chiang Mai! It really felt like you were at home through Nuy’s kindness. She was always willing to help you out with anything you needed. Her free breakfast and dinner were simply incredible, super delicious. She even did our washing and booked a tuk tuk for us to the bus stop free of charge for spending an incredible 5 nights at her accommodation. We also rented scooters here for 150 Bath a day --The first time in Thailand that I didn't even bother to take pictures of the scooter in advance to avoid discussions about damage afterwards

Highly recommended. Nuy is Mom away from Mom. She looks after her guests as if they were her children. Meals and laundry are included in room rates. Low price motorbike rentals, great company, and super convenient location makes this a must try when in Chiang Mai. Nuy and Jan helped make my journey to the north one of the best experiences I've had in Thailand. They exhibit the hospitality and thoughtfulness that can make travel in this country such a humbling and heart felt experience.
