Was absolutely perfect for the week + we stayed in Chiang Mai. Host was super nice and communicated quickly. Staff was pleasant and helpful. We loved our location being so close to the markets and Sat Street market. Was within walking distance of so many places. The rooms were very spacious and price was more than reasonable for what you get. It was such a comfortable stay. We will definitely come back.

I stayed the night in the female dorm for a few hours one night and must say the bed was spacious and comfortable. 4 in a room. There's also 8 or 10 in a room which I'm glad I didn't book. Their cafe seems quite nice, toilets are cramped but not dirty. AC worked fine and there was a air purifier on aswell. Was quiet at night except for certain guests. The reception was helpful on the phone and checking me in at night. Watch out for people with no common sense or etiquette of sharing space. Don't hesitate to call them out if they're making loud noises (packing/ etc) at 4 am. There is space outside the rooms and a lobby for that purpose. πŸ₯²

Nice hostel with cafe/restaurant downstairs -not sure if it the same owner. The rooftop is a chill place with bunch of table and chairs. There are plenty of space to work from your laptop and great internet. Location is great, few steps away from most things. Wide bed but hard as hell which is kinda a norm here in thailand. Fair price

Unfortunately I found a cockroach in my bed. While the bedsheets and towel were clean, it seems the room itself is not cleaned well. They refunded me, but I cannot recommend this hostel

This is one of the best hostel stays I've had in my two months her in Thailand. Tim (I believe she's the owner) was over the top helpful and accommodating. We had planned for a late check in and she FaceTimed me showing me exactly how to get to the hostel and how to do a late check in. We also had to extend our visa forms while staying here and she did everything she could to help us get everything we needed all together. The beds/bathrooms/floors/kitchen is all spotless and the bed was totally adequate! My boyfriend and I shared the double beds and they were spacious with a personal light and outlet. The only downside was the room did stay quite hot, maybe because of the curtains on the beds but even though the AC was on it definitely could be colder. 10/10 recommend!! And for the price it's almost unbeatable!

I also liked it a lot, I even told to the manager that usually I would change the hostel when I'm in new city or new country first time, but this hostel was good, until the chinese people walked into the room and started talking very loud. I was waiting, but they only became louder. I mean there is a balcony, living room where you can talk. Why in the bedroom? I had stayed in the hostel already for a week by this time. So I decided to tell them that should respect the bedroom. So like next day the manager told me the house is fully booked and I have to leave. Wow. And I left and went back In the evening. The house wasn't full. So what's my question here. ? They allow Chinese to shout and yell in the room but if you are European then they kick you out when you start complaining about the noise. I never complained, they even gave me the door key that didn't open the door at night. I still didn't complain. I nearly had to sleep outside, but then someone came and opened the door. But then I want to sleep in my room in silence, they start yelling in the bedroom and I have to leave because I was complaining?? Seriously? Well, in this case, don't go there. They prefer Chinese.

The staff here was extremely friendly and the location on the southern edge of the old city meant everything there was walkable. Lots of street food and combinis within about a 5 minute walk along the canal. Very spacious rooms and kitchen.

Nice room with air conditioner, nice toilet and shower with hair drier, kitchen on the roof top with big table, good location, fast internet, but no place to use a laptop after 11pm

This rating is for their giant 3 bedroom apartment - they have 1 apartment just behind the hostel building which is very equipped and comfortable with access to a huge roof with a kitchen.

I think it's a cute hostel. For the price it's great. The only downside: I feel it's a bit dirty. I wish they would clean the common areas more often. :)

Favorite hostel I’ve stayed at so far in Thailand! Rooms are very clean, friendly staff, has storage locker(bring your own lock), nice cafe/work area downstairs. Will stay here again next time I’m in Chiang Mai. Thank you!!

I visited the cafe situated at the ground floor of the le light house and hostel. This bright and clean cafe generates very nice vibes! There is also professional laundry available if that’s something you might need to do anyway. The lovely lady owner places her customers at her first priority and one must try their Thai Tea Latte! For such quality of the coffee you get, prices are extremely reasonable. Beyond the cafe, there is also an authentic Japanese Ramen/Curry Rice booth at night. I said authentic because it’s owned by a Japanese gentleman from Japan!

The location is perfect, South gate. close to the market. You can even cook yourself on the top level where there is a living room with big tv and a kitchen with clean water on the balcony. You can sit and enjoy your drinks there with other guests. But why cook if you can eat Japanese style high quality food downstairs for thaistyle cheap prices. Everything is clean and the staff is really friendly. We were staying there with 3 kids and we all loved it. Our nr 1 place to stay in chang mai. And behind the hostel there is a small temple with cheap and great massage only 2 min walking. We want there every 2 days because even the kids loved it.

One of the best hostels I've stayed in. It's not a party or social place and that's what makes it a very quiet place. Nice and helpful staff, comfy chill out area, access to kitchen, washing machine available for additional cost, big and comfortable beds, everything clean and smells fresh. If you're not a party person and are looking for a cheap place to sleep, this is the one.

Shouldn't have gone here. Mistake on my part thinking location was key, when grab is so affordable. Wanted to be in the main city center and that was a mistake. Stayed one night. Showers pulsated with inconsistent pressure. The curtains in the dorm bleed light on top and bottom. They did have AC so you could sleep. But the quality of the construction was poor in rooms. Flimsy press board which makes hitting it loud. Poorly constructed rooms. But what do you expect for 200bht.

female bathroom could be cleaner, bathroom floor got flooded by hair and tissues blocking the drain. spacious cube bed with light-blocked curtain. aircon is cold enough. towel provided. pillow cover not really clean, i covered it up with my own clothes and slept on it. spacious common area on the roof top with kitchenware and fridge. nice place to chill n hang out with other travelers. lot of free japanese manga (comic books) to read in checkin area good location to everywhere. 5 mins walk to nearby 711, night market and supermarket. 40 mins walk to the airport.

This hostel offers great value. Each bed is has curtains. The mattresses are firm and comfortable. They accept credit card payments, although a 4% fee applies. To find the air conditioning on at all times in the dorms is a welcome relief. I liked to see a dehumidifier in my dorm. They have a small kitchen and a fridge, allowing guests to prepare their own meals. There are also many bathrooms and showers available. However, I would recommend staying in the small female dorm only. During my stay, I was relocated to a larger dormitory due to a group reservation, which unfortunately had an unpleasant odor. Although I brought this issue to the attention of the staff, their response was limited to using air fresheners rather than addressing the root cause. I opted to find another hostel. I do appreciate that they promptly refunded the cost of that particular night when I requested it. While the hostel has ample space, they could improve the overall experience for their guests. For instance, they used to have a water filter that broke and was never repaired so having free drinkable water depends on bringing it from the cafe area in the first floor to the kitchen are on the third floor or buying your own. Additionally, the cafΓ© located at the front of the hostel has potential, but the staff keeps the air conditioning at a high temperature or turned off entirely, making it less inviting and they don’t have many fans available. I looked for a cafe place with AC everyday where I could do work. Upstairs, they have a sizable area where they could place tables for people to work or eat indoors, along with additional fans for improved air circulation. Unfortunately, instead of utilizing the space like that, they have placed a large flat-screen TV and unconventional beds to watch tv laying. It seems that the furniture is not moved regularly for cleaning purposes. Overall it is a great value hostel. Another thing to add is that they are close to this nice park where you can work out. It seems they offer yoga in the mornings at the park. They answer Facebook messages fast, staff is present and kind. For near by vegetarian restaurants I would recommend Cha-da vegetarian food and Ming Kwan Vegetarian, and cafes with AC where to work from, OHU and My Secret Cafe In Town.

Air con is great and the beds are cosy. Not that sociable bur if you don’t need that then it’s fine. Some of the showers need fixing, if they did some maintenance on the bathrooms and cleaned the urinals this would be 5 stars.

This is a great place to stay at. Rooms are clean, and organized. You have curtains in the dorms for privacy. AC and fans work great. Wifi is strong. Hot showers. Service is incredible - i had some unusual requests regarding keeping my bag and changing accommodation dates and they went above and beyond to help me with what i needed. Highly recommended.

Cheap Hostel with kitchen facilities such as pots / pans, kettle, microwave and a communal fridge & stove (although inside the fridge was filthy and the stove needed a deep clean). The rooftop communal area was nice to relax in and the inside space had mats on the floor which were also relaxing. Toilets were cleaned daily and the showers were hot with shampoo / body wash provided. Towels given on arrival and you had to pay a 200 baht fee for the key which you get back when you check out. We stayed in a 16 bed dorm mixed in a double bed. Beds were firm but comfortable and the pillows / duvet were cosy. Aircon worked well. Lockers to lock your belongings. I don’t think the room got cleaned whilst we were there but the bin got emptied.

Right on the main square of the old town. Great size beds, curtains and lots of space in the dorm room E. Lockers available, cooking space and common toilets and showers. Cafe offers good choice of drinks and food, bit more expensive than stalls though. And there's a dispensary out front with some really lovely guys in too. Great stay, one of my favourites in south east Asia so far.

Most people were in bed by 9pm so you had to be quite all the time, the bed were a bit uncomfortable as they’re only thin mattresses. The cafe downstairs is lovely. The staff are very nice and the place is clean. Great location walkable distance for almost everything

Located at the south gate of old town, the hostel is 2 minutes from the south gate night food vendors. The rooms are spacious. 7 bunk beds yet you dont feel cramped. The hostel is new, been running for a few months. There are not many people staying. Quiet and great value.

Truly hospitable staff. Art, Ton, and the whole team really take care of you. A cute Japanese style cafe restaurant on the main floor with very affordable prices. I loved eating the vegan ramen bowl. They have an outdoor kitchen/eating patio area on the third floor. Great place to meet new friends or chill with ur travel mates. Very close walk to food stalls and weekend street (night) markets. Highly recommend!

I stayed here in a large dorm for a few days. I liked the chill top floor and rooftop areas. Great for a chat with new friends. The staff was friendly. The food was good...ate shrimp tempora. The location is in the southern center of old town. A few minutes walk to the Saturday market and many shops, restaurants, and bars.

Was impossible for me to sleep. The door was opened like 15 times during the night. One guy was snoring loudly, people had a conversation outside at 02.00 am. And you could hear the traffic from outside.

One of my favorite hostels in Chiang Mai. Next to the night market, great location overall. Modern rooms, comfy beds with curtains. Clean. The roof area spacious and nice to hang out. A restaurant available downstairs. The staff were super friendly.

Great hostel! Beds have privacy curtains, free breakfast is amazing, great kitchen and terrace, clean toilets and showers. Great price too. Lost one star because no one speaks English and it's hard to communicate problems, and not the best location for things to see. (Mostly industrial within 5-6 block radious). Very good "pop up" Tan Tan bbq restaurant in the parking lot at night and fresh food market down the street.

Excellent place to lay your head - and grab some coffee or a little snack! The hostel also features an adorably decorated cafe. Super brand new and clean, and there’s a rooftop balcony with an open air kitchen you can freely use! Breakfast is coffee and tea and toast, which is totally sufficient. Great location.

Excellent value hostel with modern ameneties While this hostel was slightly more than other cheap hostels in the area, it was absolutely worth the small premium to have modern amenities. Would absolutely stay again the next time I'm in Chiang Mai Room type: Enclosed bunk in mixed room Lockers β€’ Size: Slightly varying size, but generally about the size of an airline personal item β€’ Access: Bring your own lock Bathrooms β€’ Number: 5 separate toilets and showers in the mens bathroom. Additional bathroom on 3rd floor β€’ Combined toilet/shower: N β€’ Hair Dryers: 2 in bathroom, strong β€’ Bathroom shampoo/conditioner/body wash: shampoo & body wash Common Area: Air conditioned cafe on the 1st floor, open air terrace and kitchen on the 3rd floor Amenities β€’ Included towels: N, 20 to rent (100 deposit) β€’ Light in bunk: Y β€’ Outlet in bunk: Y β€’ Bunk curtains: Y β€’ Included breakfast: Y - Toast with butter and jam, bananas, and a thai dish Misc β€’ Set up bedding yourself: N β€’ Break down bedding yourself: N β€’ Laundry: N, but there are coin operated laundry shops nearby β€’ Elevator: N β€’ Location: Excellent - right inside the very walkable old city! Value: Amazing - for just a little more money than the cheapest hostels, you got all the modern amenities you could ask for Misc: You have to take off your shoes before entering, but indoor sandals are provided. Air conditioning in the room is only turned on from 5pm-midnight, but it never felt warm in the room every time I was there. Opportunities for improvement: Add power outlets to 1st floor cafe along couch against wall. Add shelf in bathrooms to be able to hold dry clothing.

This is my 2nd visit. Location is excellent, it is close to a night market that is open daily, and also close to the Saturday Night Market. They have free breakfast which has a different main dish daily. It also includes cereal, milk, toast, and jams. The ground floor is a cafe, so you can order extras for breakfast, or even have your lunch there. The rooms can be a little noisy as the hostel is right next to a road, though I had no trouble sleeping, especially if I had a massage that day. Keep in mind they no longer provide towels free of charge (their website is not yet updated), instead you have to rent one for 20 baht. Small nitpick are that the lockers are kind of small: can't fit any large bags or luggage, but are also consolidated near the doors (and not your bed), so it can be a tad inconvenient if you need to access your locker often. Also, please bring your own padlocks for the lockers, though it's not entirely necessary unless you have super valuable stuff since it's relatively safe.
