Right in the middle of old town, you can walk to major sights in 15 minutes. However the hostel is huge with only one receptionist. Stay at the 4/6/8 bed dorm instead of the 16 one. I pay only $5 which is a great deal. Use the shower/bathroom on 2nd floor, which is much nicer than the ones on 1st floor.

BEST VALUE HOSTEL IN CHIANG MAI. This is the best hostel I've stayed at in Chiang Mai. It's location is central for visiting temples and restaurants (the Saturday market starts on the next road). The room had a beautiful modern decor, white marble floors and a flat screen TV. Daily room service with free tea and coffee. The mattress, pillow and quilt was all fluffy and luxurious (a hundred times better in every way than Wow hostel which we stayed at beforehand). With the exception of the lady that checked us out (who kept us waiting around whilst she chatted away on the phone and wasn't particularly friendly), the staff were all very professional, friendly and helpful. Would stay here again 10/10

The owner helped us with a situation where another hotel canceled our booking last minute and even though she had no rooms left, she set up a little bed for us which was SO NICE OF HER. Seriously, my girlfriend and I thank you so much for your help. The atmosphere here as also very nice, this hotel has a lot of space to spread out and the breakfast was a great treat. Staff are amazing

It is in a side street. The photos look amazing and lots of people. We were there for 4 days I saw no one. it’s tucked away in the corner with ample parking space so it’s relatively quiet, unlike other hostels on the main street. the beds are really soft, unlike the typical thai hard mattresses so that was a big plus for us cleanliness could really be improved on. sheets were sometimes stained and even though there was daily housekeeping the rooms were always dusty. our biggest gripe was the terrible shower (both rooms were the same). It was always cold. We had no breakfast. No sure if it was a option

Amazing hostel in the centre of the old town! Amazing location, easy access to all sights, transport, food and weekend walking markets. The owner Apple went above and beyond to make you feel welcome, anything she could help with she did. Even offered to take us to the bus station in her own car at no extra cost. All other staff super friendly and helpful also. Very reasonably priced for what you get, clean and spacious rooms, lockers under beds, very comfy pillows, clean bathroom and big area outside to socialise.

Really nice hostel! Stayed in the dorms the first night, which was nice. You get a bed with curtains, light, outlet and locker for something like 240 baht a person. Super cheap and really clean. The second night we splurged and got the private room.... amazing! You get a private bathroom with shower, fridge, TV, and a balcony for about 1300 baht... definitely worth it for a couple. The staff was extremely nice and friendly, one was a Canadian... enough said :D Also any service you need: excursion, laundry, bus they'll help you with. Had a great time definitely reccomend!

Amazing hostel. Opened recently and has amazing facilities. Great rooms. Multiple and clean toilets and showers. In the lobby has free bananas, coffee and water. Loved the breakfast, but sometimes it was like a lunch in the morning (fried rice with chicken for example) Very kind staff!! Highly reccommend!

What an incredible place! The rooms were exactly as advertised: extraordinary clean, spacious, new and oh god how confortable. The best sleep I ever had in Thailand after 3 months travelling in Thailand! I've stayed in the dorms which are already so confortable. Each bed has its own sockets, light and curtains and there is a personal locker under the bed. I've seen the private rooms and they all come with a private balcony that is to die for: the private rooms are very new and western-like. The showers in the dorms were clean, spacious, luminous and so confortable to use. The VIP dorms offer a desk-area besides the table, which is a first-time thing for me. We all know that the people make the place; well, the staff is surely at the level of the place! Very friendly and helpful staff (they speak English! yes!) and the owner Apple is just the most adorable and sweet manager. She took us in her car to show us the best places to eat and drink in town and was always making sure her guests were feeling at ease. The hostel benefits from a social space outside with long chairs and tables where it's very easy to socialise with other guests and with the staff as well. There is a also a private parking lot which make transportation so much easier. They have bicycles there free for guests for 3 hours! and the breakfast was just the best way to start the day in Chiang Mai: sitting at one of the shadowed table and enjoying breakfast. The breakfast changes every day, it's thai food (so don't expect English breakfast or pancakes; however, you can order those for an extra cost), + a plate of fresh fruits. There is hot beverage (tea, coffee, ginger powder) and water for free and unlimited, along with toasts, butter and jam. I cannot stress enough how this hostel is a good value; the staff is helpful and the place is incredibly clean and confortable. I cannot wait to be back! The prices (when I was there, January 2018): Standard dorms (6, 8, or 12 female/ mixte dorms) : 400 Baht VIP dorms : 500 Baht Private room : 1200 Baht

my review is based on 2 separate stays in 2 different rooms. stay with hug is right smack in the heart of old city, which makes it perfect for exploring. it’s tucked away in the corner with ample parking space so it’s relatively quiet, unlike other hostels on the main street. the beds are really soft, unlike the typical thai hard mattresses so that was a big plus for us (my partner and i both have bad backs and hard mattresses are impossible to sleep on). the pillows are really high though and we woke up with strange aches some nights. cleanliness could really be improved on. sheets were sometimes stained and even though there was daily housekeeping the rooms were always dusty. our biggest gripe was the terrible shower (both rooms were the same). they ran either scalding hot or freezing cold. pantry was non existent except for the occasional bananas for breakfast and a water cooler for filtered water.

Fantastic hotel owned by very nice people. I’d highly recommend staying here. The facilities are clean and everything looks modern. I really enjoyed my day here, it’s one of the nicest places I’ve stayed in Chiang Mai.

Everyone is very kind and helpful. And the industrial architecture mixed with the environment is very attractive

Best hostel experience! Great location and amazing staff, good facilities and always clean. Had some of the best pad Thai ever at their restaurant. Everything else that you need is within walking distance and if you want a scooter to wander around, they have lots of parking available at the hostel. Will be back for sure☀️

Absolutely amazing, this is by far one of the nicest hostels I have stayed in. Great beds, amenities and staff service. Its directly in the centre of Chiang Mai so it makes it super easy to walk anywhere. The owner Apple and her son are amazing they really made our stay in Chiang Mai great. They showed us around the city and even took a group of us and showed us the Saturday market and a temple. Apple the owner is an amazing and sweet woman; well I was staying there I got very sick and had to spend 3 days in the hospital. Apple drove me to the hospital and even came back a day later and brought me flowers. I strongly recommend staying here you will not find a nicer place or nicer people.

nice location, staffs are all friendly and helpful. Toilets and room are clean. There’s huge private space for you even in the dorm room. The only con I found in this place is that it is too quiet. I was the only one staying there in the hostel probably and it’s pretty scary for me. Would come back again when this place is more crowded.

That's actually the best hostel I've ever stayed at. The rooms are spacious, clean, and quiet. You can even close the curtains all the way to have a pitch black light during the night. The staff are so kind, friendly, and helpful. The hostel owner is so pure hearted and kind. She's lovely and caring, and I immediately fell at home. It's located in the middle of the old city square, and every place is walkable. Loved that!
