This place is very special. Definitely not for all (including me). Why am I rating it with five stars? Well, it has its own atmosphere despite many disadvantages. You will have a great opportunity to live for couple of days like some Thai people. Maybe just that place wouldn't be so great without its owners, who are very kind, friendly and guest-oriented? They are doing great things in such difficult conditions. And that is why they do deserve 5 stars. I am pretty sure that if they improve their business, it will be something good. Keep going - your are doing great job.

Great location wedged in between the upper right corner of Old City. It's walking distance from riverside and a few steps away from BYB Underground club. It's a very quiet area but also very close to night life, night markets, and other amenities. Plenty of eateries, weed shops, and massage shops nearby. Jimmy and Jeng were really kind and I really enjoyed my stay here. Will definitely stay again.

We had the best stay at Jimmy & Jeng's. Both are perfect hosts, they show you what you can do around town and organize tours for you. The location is perfect, the old town is in walking distance. Rooms were clean. For a small price you can get very good breakfast in the morning, the coffee is very good too (roasted by Jimmy). Would definitely come back!

Had a great stay at this very friendly hostel. The hosts were very helpful. The room was basic but adequate, especially for the price, very clean. Star of the show was the breakfast, superb coffee, banana pancakes & fresh fruit salad with yoghurt, delicious. Already looking forward to our next visit!

We had a great time here! We stayed for 2 nights ant loved it . Jimmy and jeng are warm and welcoming, the room is nice and we even got an extra fun cus it was so hot in the city . And of course the home made roasted coffee is amazing ☕️

Jimmy and Jeng's home is a gem in the heart of Chiang Mai. We had a wonderful and relaxing stay, complete with homecooked breakfasts and the best coffee we've had in Thailand. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the location is perfect. Jimmy and Jeng are just wonderful and we felt very at home.

Jimmy and Jeng homestay was such nice and friendly place! J&J are always ready to help and answer all the questions. We spend there 5 nights. Perfect location between markets and old city. Rooms are clean, everything works properly. If needed AC inside (extra fee). Jeng is Perfect cook - pancakes, muesli and local food like shrimps and pork ribs - you are amazing girl! Don’t hesitate to book this homestay! Jimmy and Jeng are amazing hosts and give great travel advice around Chiang Mai. Walking distance to night market and the central square. Jimmy booked our cooking class and national park tour, recommending great companies with even better prices! We initially only booked one night however ended up extending our stay 4 times! Jimmy makes his own coffee which we highly recommend trying as well as the delicious smoothies 😍

Jimmy is a wonderful host and the place lovely! The rooms are classic thailand style and very comfortable for the price. The location is also close to two major street food markets. Don’t forget to get one of jimmy’s home roasted coffees in the morning!

Best homestay EVER ! Jimmy gives a real meaning the to word homestay. His place is very cosy and well located. The rooms are comfortable. The breakfast is super nice and his coffee it’s delicious. Jimmy roasts his coffee himself. Jimmy is super nice and will always try to help you. We had an amazing stay there.

10/10 if I could give 10 stars I would. I spent my second week in Chiang Mai at Jimmy and Na's place and it was fantastic (Jeng is their son). Their place is super homey, with a nice area to hang out in and enjoy some of their delicious coffee and breakfasts. Na would make amazing dinners, friends and family would come over and we would all eat and enjoy together. It is what a homestay should be. I'm so sad to be leaving and wish I had spent all 2 weeks with them There are only a few rooms which are exactly as pictured - clean, with towels and soap provided. They have water, beer and soda for sale - on top of Jimmy's hand roasted coffee (that he roasts right there!). Since there are only a few rooms, there are only a handful of guests and it's really easy to hang and socialize with each other. When I come back to Chiang Mai this is the only place I could ever stay.

I'm writing a top recommendation for this homestay that Jimmy owns. It was such an amazing stay for New Year's Eve. They took us in like family and were really very welcoming to us. They are lovely and hospitable people and if I visit Chiang Mai again, I will stay with them again. The accommodation is true to price in appearance but surpasses any 5* hotel in service.

When I left this morning it was like departing from family. They really make you feel what authentic Thai hospitality is all about. If I didn't have any plans what to do with my day: Jimmy came up with options. He never tried to push me towards a tourist trap or scam and made sure I was always comfortable. I had food poisoning: Jimmy sorted me out with medicinals. Didn't have a scooter: Jimmy would have lent me his bike. A true gem in the urban area of Chiang Mai. Honest, welcoming warm people. I was also invited to numerous social evenings with their friends and family. Whether it was a casual BBQ or a birthday. I was always welcome. Jimmy roasts his coffee on a daily basis and Na makes a banger of a pancake. The breakfast is good and affordable just what you need before delving into explorations around the city!

Jimmy and Na are so nice! They know a lot about Chiang mai and its surroundings and they speak English very well. The rooms are clean, there was airconditioning and a water heater. We had breakfast at Jimmy's everyday, delicious and cheap! It was a great experience staying here. We loved the plants and you can hear gecko's and toads every night.

Lovely place, run by a friendly and endearing owner. He also offered me use of a bike for my stay. If you're looking for a cheap but cosy place, highly recommed 😊

If you are looking for an authentic location in Chiang Mai, this is the right place for you. Jimmy and his wife Na will really make you feel at home and will share with you a piece of Thailand, being always more available for a friendly chat. Rooms are simple but with all the necessary and breakfast is simply delicious: you should taste Na's pancake with bananas! Thank you Jimmy and Na, hope to see you again! Ps: Jimmy organizes really nice trips to let people discover Chiang Mai's territory and culture. Unfortunately we didn't have the chance to try, but I advice you to write them before your arrival in order to know more about it and define how many days to spend here.

Jimmy and Jeng welcomed us very well. They are super helpful, will show you a map of the city, give you recommendation about anything you want to know in Chiang Mai. Every morning we ate breakfast here and we loved it! I really loved the Yoghurt with fruits, I even ordered 2* bowls in one morning 😅 Jimmy makes his own coffee so if you like coffee I recommend it as well. Prices are very affordable. The room was great, toliet, shower with hot water. At night it's peaceful. Just everything about this place I recommend, thank you Jimmy & Jeng ❤️

Where to begin. First that you gonna register is a nice smell of the place. Jimmy was probably burning an incense stick but oh my god it makes the first impression so much better than then the smelly entrance of one hostel in Bangkok. Jimmy and Jeng are super helpful, will show you a map of the city and give you recommendation. I truly recommend having breakfast from them in the morning, banana pancakes were amazing and Jimmy makes his own coffee. Prices are very affordable. The room itself was great, had magnet mosquito net covering whole door, toliet, shower with hot water and also drawers where you can put your clothes. At night it's peaceful and quiet even if there is a huge music party in the city. I highly recommend this place to anyone. Also, my friend had a sore throat throughout our stay. Jimmy would offer ginger remedy and some of his own remedies. It was very kind gesture. Thank you!

Jimmy and Jeng are an amazing marriage. They helped us a lot and recommend the best places in Chiang Mai. If I come back to Chiang Mai I will definitely choose this hotel for my stay. I felt like home. They were extremely nice and they are good speaking English. The room was clear and quiet. And the rooms are very cheap. This is the best option to choose a room in Chiang Mai.

Everything was great, this lovely couple speaks good English and knows how to treat tourist. Honestly had a great time with them. They kept our luggage and let us take a shower before going to the airport after a long tour day. Coffee aint included but its good and their cookies are so nice. We had a prob with the reservation so we only had a room instead of two the second night. Not their fault at all. We would just have liked them to do us a discount since we almost paid like 2 normal rooms instead. Maybe this is the Thai mentality to make money. Its not a complaint tho. (im giving 8.8 out of 10)

Lovely homestay where I really felt like home. Jimmy and Jeng were very welcoming and helpful. They even borrowed a bike for me. Room was big and clean and bed comfortable. They also serve good and affordable breakfast. Overall great value for money. I would definitely choose this place again!

There is no better place to stay at Chiang Mai than Jimmy and Jeng! They are the best people I have met in Thailand. They are very, very helpful, nice and friendly to their guests. Both speak fluently in English. It is clear for me that they are running this homestay with passion and love. Room was clean, quiet and big enough. Everything was really near.

I can highly recommend. Owners are very nice, speaking very good English, giving you good advice about the area and where to go. Place is clean, room is big enough. We took fan room since here air cools down at night, no need of air con. Loved the location too, looks like you are in rural Thailand in the center of the city.
