Fantastic, fresh food - our favourite meal in Thailand so far. There’s no English menu but the staff were very helpful in helping us pick! Highlights were the cucumber salad and the grilled pork neck.

“Absolutely authentic and delicious!” If you’re looking for the real deal, Tum Ka Yum in Chiang Rai is the place to go. The flavors here are truly authentic, incredibly delicious, and unbelievably affordable. Every dish feels like it’s made with care and tradition. For foreign visitors, I’d recommend asking the restaurant to tone down the spice level just a bit. The dishes are served with the kind of heat that perfectly suits Thai tastes—original and bold. But don’t worry, even with less spice, the flavors are still outstanding! Highly recommended for those who want to experience Thai cuisine at its best

Their kindness and passion for what they do make the experience even more special! If you’re looking for an exceptional dining experience, this is the place to be. I am so glad I came here on a whim. The food was delicious. I got one of their signature dishes with raw shrimp, the spicy noodle salad (their better version of a papaya salad), and the fried corn. The staff and owner were friendly and kind, taking their time to explain the menu to me. The music sets a chill lounge meets love vibes. Really enhanced the meal. This spot exceeded my expectations. Do it!

A cute restaurant with delicious food. The tam (papaya salad) and yam (spicy salads) are flavorful. The leng zaab (spicy pork bone soup) is tasty, though the meat could be more tender. Prices are reasonable. There’s a car wash next door.

Tum Ka Yum Cafe, located on Uttarakit Road in Chiang Rai, is a highly recommended dining spot known for its authentic Thai cuisine and welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant has received high praise from both locals and travelers, boasting a 5-star rating. Diners frequently commend the owner's personal touch in explaining the menu, which, while primarily in Thai, includes helpful pictures to assist non-Thai speakers. The staff's friendliness and professionalism further enhance the dining experience. The menu offers a variety of dishes, with the papaya salad being a standout favorite among patrons. Other popular choices include pork, chicken, and salmon dishes, all prepared to perfection. The restaurant also provides air-conditioning, offering a comfortable escape from the city's heat. Given the customizable spice levels, it's advisable to specify your preferred spiciness when ordering, especially if you're sensitive to heat. Visiting during off-peak hours can provide a more relaxed dining experience. In summary, Tum Ka Yum Cafe offers a delightful culinary experience with its flavorful dishes, attentive service, and pleasant ambiance. It's a must-visit for anyone seeking authentic Thai flavors in Chiang Rai.

Sensational. All the food we had here was excellent, particularly the pork neck, which the waitress recommended. They also made us an excellent papaya salad. Chicken wings were great as was the prawn pad Thai and the fried corn fritters. The little bags of pork skin on the table were a nice treat too. Brilliant service from very kind staff who helped us understand the menu. I felt guilty because we ordered a couple more beers throughout the meal and they kept having to run across the courtyard to get more. Highly recommend - check it out!

Restaurant Review: A Must-Visit Culinary Gem This restaurant exceeded all expectations! The Pad Thai was outstanding—perfectly cooked noodles with a balance of tangy, sweet, and savory flavors. Every bite was pure delight. To complement the meal, the Singha beer was crisp and refreshing, while the brandy cocktail was expertly crafted and full of flavor. The service was impeccable—attentive, friendly, and efficient. From the warm welcome to helpful recommendations, the staff made us feel truly valued. With its inviting ambiance and incredible food and drinks, this spot is perfect for any occasion. We can’t wait to return and try more!
