Wow. This is some of the best food we’ve eaten in Thailand in 3 months. We were staying around the corner so thought it would be worth a try and it exceeded expectations. We had 3 dishes and we were so full- morning glory, garlic chicken wings and the Barrab specialty which I believe is Burmese and was a laab style mince with this delicious vegetable, salad and herb mix to eat it with. The people working there were so friendly and helpful too. I think the restaurant could maybe do with a little atmosphere injection (a very polite tip because I would love for them to be more successful). Would 100% recommend though! Gorgeous food and people 👌🏼

Highly recommend!!!! I swear I had the best Thai food I have ever tried! It’s delicious!!!! I’m literally shocked how it’s tasty. Staff speak English and ready to help you with order. And one more thing: they are really good at spices, so you will try a lot of different vegetables and herbs, because everything what they put in your plate can be eaten. Check photo and notice this amazing vegetables and herbs

I’ve spent 2+ months traveling all over Thailand and this was one of the best, if not the best meals we’ve had. Our server was very helpful in selecting local dishes that accommodated our preferences. Very reasonably priced and we loved being able to try several small dishes. The owner grows some of her own produce used in dishes as well.

I came here for lunch on the recommendation of my b&b. It was around 1pm and the place was full and I had to wait a little. The branding for the place is on point, where there is an emphasis on serving fresh produce. This was made evident when we wanted to order kumquat juice but it was apparently not in season. I got the northern sausage (฿70) and this was pretty good, but the portion was a little small. The Hang Lay pork curry (฿180) which came with 4 quarters of naan was pretty good. I was told to add some curry to the naan, and a squirt of tangerine juice and this was so good. The pork was also tender. The mixed vegetables and mushrooms (฿80) was also pretty good at the start, but towards the end can taste a little salty, so best to get rice to go with it. For my main, I got the pineapple fried rice (฿150) and this was pretty large. It was very flavourful. Overall I would say that the prices here are a little steeper but they're still pretty good.

The tastiest food I’ve ever had. The Khao Soi was very good. The staff/owner took the time to explain each dishes and what’s in season and whatnot. It was a great experience. The lemon and honey drink was delicious! Highly recommend!

Great tasty local cuisine with some influence from Myanmar. The owner knows her stuff and is versed in English, allowing her to introduce the menu clearly and perfectly. Due to limited seating, it is best to call in advance to avoid a long queue. Will definitely come back again. A special shout-out to the "lucky bag of pork" :)

Phew! This place makes some truly great khao soi and pad thai, among many other Thai staples. The can also make it truly spicy. I really enjoyed my meal here. A cool aspect of the menu is that they allow you to order many items as small or entree sized, which lets you sample numerous dishes if you wish. The staff member, May, was so nice and accommodating. She really made an impression on me! She wrote down a little letter for me in Thai that I can use to explain that I want my dishes ‘Thai spicy’ as opposed to ‘foreigner spicy.’ The chef also came out and asked about the food. Wonderful place with amazing food at the perfect price point.

Great restaurant. The host made us feel welcome and talked us through the menu, including all the regional specialities. Suggest you make a reservation if you definitely want to eat here, as we saw a number of people leave disappointed as there wasn't enough room for them. The lucky bags were a nice treat. Northern sausage also delicious. Very reasonably priced too.

Very tasty! Owner also speaks English fluently and helped us choosing dishes. We took the “chicken in law”, “Barrab” and “boneless chicken curry with homemade nan bread”. I especially liked the chicken curry with the nan bread!!

Loved it here. The reviews are spot on. Great food, service, location and atmosphere. The food is a little spicy for non spicy people but that's all part of it. The owner explains everything beautifully. You can tell she is really passionate about food and tells you how to put everything together for the perfect bite for each meal. Her English is perfect! Book early so you don't miss out or take your chances and walk in. It gets busy but well worth coming back if you can't get in first time. Enjoy! 🎉

This place has got an awesome variety of traditional northern dishes (items 1-13 on menu) and they've got plenty of veggie options too! The flavors are absolutely delicious, and the staff is super chill and patient when it comes to explaining all the different choices. Plus, the whole vibe of the joint is just so cozy and inviting. Can't recommend it enough!

This is my favorite restaurant in the city. It was so good, it warranted a return visit. I wouldn't say any of the dishes are purely "traditional" but they are all very, very good. The waitress does a fantastic job explaining the menu and the culinary influences alongside the differences compared to standard Central Thailand food. That said, I highly recommend the Hung Lay curry.

The food is really good that they are sold out by 730pm. I didn't expect it since the prices are very reasonable. I had the gingery hung lay and spicy Khao soi. Hung Lay has a thick rich curry sauce, soft pork cubes perfectly simmered. The owner is very efficient and welcoming. She gives instructions on how to use the given seasonings, lime, or for some food items that's supposed to be wrapped.

Great northern Thai food served at this restaurant, with good recommendations made by the lady boss. She is clearly passionate about her food, and helps customers choose food suitable for their palate. Be forewarned - the restaurant is popular, so come early if you don't wish to miss out!

It's an amazing place. The service was just perfect, as it was also the food. The waitress was very, very nice and friendly. She explained to us the whole menu with a smile in the face, and she also speaks English very well. She recommended to us the best options for people who don't like spicy plates. The food was really good. We ordered a Pad Thai and a Chicken with cashew nuts. Bot of them were just perfect. It has been the best Pad Thai (with extra peanut sauce) that I have tasted in Thailand.

Come early to ensure you don’t have to wait long. Staffs are friendly and gives a lot of recommendations what to order for the authentic Northern cuisine. We ordered a platter which consist of variety. Overall we had a pleasant experience 😋

Great restaurant! My wife has celiac disease and can not have any wheat whatsoever. Even cross contamination is a big issue! We ordered seven different dishes and my wife was able to eat all of them without any issue whatsoever! Very good gluten free food, no cross communication! Plus to all being gluten free the food was excellent! Very well seasoned and we wish we ordered more! Thank you! Highly recommended! Highly

Excellent restaurant in Chiang Rai featuring a wide variety of Northern Thai dishes. Fresh and diverse flavors in a small, comfortable setting. We spent five nights in Chiang Rai and this was the best meal we had. Very personable service. Highly recommended.

The food was nice but very small portions and for the size of the portions it is pricey. But very tasty and authentic. Visited at 1 pm on a Sunday and had to wait a short while. Restaurant is small and cosy. We ordered the no. 12 salad which meant to have chickpeas but couldnt see any in it. Lots of chilli and red onion. Also the regular sized khao soi (spelling?) - it was small but tasty. Hate to know how small the smaller size would be!! You should probably order more than one dish each if you are hungry! People waiting outside gawp in to check status of tables and wait time.

Delicious! Owner explained the menu to us and even asked if we have any allergies so food can be adjusted. You must try the lanna bags! So much texture and flavor. Khao soi gai and sausage were good but the lanna bags were the best dish on the table for us.

It is a cute cozy restaurant in the centre of Chang rai! The lady at the entrance is amazing, she has everything under control. The restaurant is very small and there are a bunch of tourists visiting. However the food is really good. In the menu they have the option to order a small portion of everything which is convenient. Also the menu has suggestions on which are the most typical dishes!

I have just witnessed true professionalism by the head waiter. The restaurant was about to go into chaos with many people in line with all kinds of nationalities. However, this waiter single handedly kept the composure and maintained the space in peace. It looked like they were so short handed, but all it took was her managing everything well. The food was great and they have a plenty of chiang rai originated food to choose from. Respect.

Super delicious pad Thai, fresh and flavorful. Definitely take the menu's suggestion and order the extra peanut sauce. The waitress was very kind and explained the menu to us (spice levels, taster versus main size dishes) in perfect English. We plan to return to try more of the regional specialties! We hope to try many of them since they give the option for taste sizes of most of them. Love this option to experience more of the local cuisine.

This is a rather small place and they serve some no frills Thai cuisine including Lanna northern Thai. Ask the te there and they usually serve each dish with some explanation. They can also give you some recommendations. The food is tasty, thoroughly enjoyed it. Might be good to make a reservation, they were sold out on a few dishes when we were seated. After another table they closed and didn't take more customers.

Showed up around 7:10pm and waited around 10 minutes for a table to open up, and it’s rare to wait for a restaurant in South East Asia, so it might be telling of a place of the quality of food and service. The service was extremely excellent as the waitstaff spoke perfect English and made some great recommendation. The food, oh so yummy and can’t wait to return here one day. My friend ordered the Pad Thai and it was one of the best pad Thais we’ve ever had

Most delicious food of our trip around Thailand! Amazing flavours and surprising presentation. You could choose bigger or smaller sizes so you can try a variety of dishes (portions were big in both cases). The lady was super friendly and spoke perfect English so she explained everything and made recommendations. There were more original dishes than the typical ones you see around Thailand, all northern style with a mix of Thai and Burmese recipes. Northern cuisine is usually very spicy but the lady adjusted them to the minimum for us. We went there twice in less than 48h so we tried many dishes and all were so good, we loved the place! Also very cheap. 100% recommend, don’t miss it!
