Pretty cafe and we enjoyed eating our lunch in the garden. But the pasta I ordered was under flavoured. My husband complained his eggs benedict did not have a runny yolk, like in all the other restaurants he's had it. We are also surprised our waitress spoke no English and struggled with our order. As a Western style restaurant targeting Western people, shouldn't this be a job requirement? The cashier spoke English and I was surprised she wasn't taking the orders while the non English speaking waitress did the non speaking tasks like setting the table and bringing the food and drinks.

After reading so many positive reviews i decided to have a nice breakfast here but I was most disappointed by the way of welcoming, the food and even their cappuccino. I guess that i was just the unlucky client of the day and I am sorry to say that I cannot recommend this bistro. I waited a long time for a so so smoothie bowl with seeds and even longer for a bad cappuccino that I could not finish. The ladies working there seemed not very welcoming and as happy as I was when I left the bistro, sometimes you're just glad to pay so you can leave and let things behind you.

I rarely write reviews but we were visiting and wanted to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The service and the food was brilliant. The duck as a main was delicious as was the accompanying vegetables with a beautiful sauce. Our desserts of tiramisu and blueberry cheese cake were spot on along with coffees. The quiet jazz music in the background provided a lovely ambiance. Clean, contemporary and spacious furnishings provided a relaxed and special setting or you could eat outdoors in the well kept garden on wrought iron furniture. If you want something a bit special I would recommend Dear Friends. Thanks for a memorable evening last night. Cheers Mike.

A very beautiful restaurant with a manicured yard/garden. They make really great cold-pressed juices and desserts. The staff are very friendly people. The space has a nice atmosphere and is very clean. Reasonable prices as well. Well worth your time.

This was a lovely find! The salmon risotto had a salmon steak with beautifully crispy exterior and perfect interior and the pesto risotto was delicious and gluten-free (no added flour). We also loved the Belgium hot chocolate and the raved chocolate souffle. The hot chocolate was frothy and made with cacao nibs for a rich dessert drink with bean-to-bar fruity notes. It was my favorite hot chocolate anywhere and it's a staple for me. Check Facebook for their most updated menu and they have two dedicated parking spots next to the entrance.

We went running and then came to have brunch here. We really enjoyed our food and we would love to come back to try their main dishes. They also have a vegan/vegetarian menu in case you need options.

I came for dinner , ordered a pork chop which was really juicy and delicious. The food was so good I returned for breakfast the following morning. The service was super friendly and music and ambiance just perfect.

Indoor and outdoor dining available in a beautiful setting. I have been to the so called fancy Cafes along the river, Dear Friend beats them all with taste and price. If you aren't happy with your meal here let me know I will pay for it. You can catch me here I will definitely be back again and again. Thank you for taking the time to read my review. 😊

Service staff wasn’t really welcoming, even though there was just one patron in the restaurant when I came in… That took one star off really, as I was made to feel a tad unwelcome. Food quality was great though - I ordered a grilled pork neck platter and Affogato that set me back by 380 baht, but the special dip for the pork was so yummy! If only the service crew did as good…

Excellent Greek salad, just meh pasta dishes. It’s quite expensive compared to other restaurants on the same street. Price for value could also be better.

Extremely flavoursome food - like a Michelin star restaurant - for around £4, unbelievable value. Great vegan options.

Unexpected find in the center of Chiang Rai - really delicious food, and a dedicated vegan section of the menu with tempeh and seitán as substitutes, wow! I visited late in the evening so there wasn't much going on, but still I was served with attention and pleasant attitude. The desert I had was really excellent, too! The only recommendation would be to expand the playlist, there were 2 same songs on repeat all the time:DD highly recommend for vegans/vegetarians in search of good food.

Restaurant/Coffee place: Very tasty food. The staff is very friendly. You can pay with credit card (The prices are higher than other places but it is worth it.).

Outstanding. Lovely atmosphere. Very attentive and friendly waitstaff. Excellent English. Food was very flavorful, extensive menu. Had Greek salad, fresh! Pork ragú pasta and pesto pasta with bacon. Both great rase and presentation. Two glasses of red wine with happy hour. And the chocolate soufflé for dessert. Perfection!

Menu had great variety with many interesting dishes so it was hard to choose. Ended up going for the black truffle spaghetti. I've never seen so much truffle on one plate - what a bargain.

Coffee was good. The egg sourdough was so so, but the pesto and cheddar hot sandwich was so yummy I ordered it 3 times in 24 hours! The chocolate suflê was good too, made freshly. Beautiful garden, super clean toilets, relaxed atmosphere all together and super friendly staff!

On a pretty okay location you find Dear Friends. As a coffee addict, I, of course, need to try this place. The atmosphere of Dear Friends is absolutely good. The staff is friendly and helpful. The coffee is okay. Not very special, but okay. Had a look at their extensive menu and for foreigners / tourists the choices are absolutely enough. Prices a focussed on tourists, obviously. Recommendable.

Freshly pressed juice was perfect. I had a mix of pineapple, beetroot and ginger. Quinoa salad was delicious as well. Their signature dessert didn't impress me but my husband loved it. I guess I am just not a fan of souffle texture.

We went for an afternoon coffee and dessert and it was really nice and clean inside with good air conditioning. Soufflé was good but honestly we preferred the canalé but not a bad option there. Pricey for the area but when you go you can see they take a lot of care and the quality is good. We got 2 coffees, 2 canalé, and one soufflé and it was just under 600 baht. You can pay with card.

Tried the Gnocchi, Quinoa salad and Tiramisu. Really enjoyed the Gnocchi and found the portion size to be perfect. The very healthy salad was big, couldn't finish it. All three menus for about 750B made this a very tasty night out. Good location, quiet atmosphere.

This is one of our favourite restaurants. The soups and salads have genuine flavours. The truffle spaghetti is tasteful. Today's quesedilla and it's peach salsa was just right. The place is never packed so it's nice to come with your partner. They offer nice tea pots and desserts

A week ago, my wife and I ate a late lunch at Dear Friend and were delighted. I got the Sea Bass Fish & Chips. It was a good size piece of delicious fish, perfectly cooked with a light and flavorful batter served with a tasty tarter sauce that was not made with dill, for which I was grateful. It also came with both fries (chips) and onion rings which were, again, perfectly cooked. My wife ordered the Almond Crusted Salmon and there is no doubt that she loved it because she closed her eyes to savor each bite. Like mine, it also came both fries and onion rings and was very pleasantly surprised by the taste and texture of the onion rings. There was also a small salad of mixed greens and other vegetables. The restaurant and even the restrooms were immaculately clean. The restaurant had big windows and glass doors giving it a delightfully open feeling. It is aptly named because it is sure to become a dear friend for both my wife and me.

Was very curious to try after the fantastic reviews. I felt it was too overpriced for what it was. Had the saffron risotto which I found bland and the dark chocolate souffle was not that great. Expect to pay around 500-700 Baht if having a main and dessert.

About + pluses : nice place inside , have parking 🅿️, all food is amazing, really all . And desserts too About - minuses : stuff don’t understand English , and when I order first time them special dessert - all was good with white cream , second time I order the same dessert 🍮 and cream was chocolate, but on pictures white and I ask white. They just stuck and don’t understand nothing . It’s makes me sad 😔

Very peaceful and quiet cafe, with desert and main dish options. The desserts tasted so good and real, and butter biscuits melting in your mouth. Variety in the menu, great design of the cafe. I wish we had time to come more than once here.

I had a latte. Not too bad, but not great. They're open until late, which would be nice if the coffee quality were a bit better.

Found confit du canard, a dish I absolutely love but rarely see in menus nowadays. This dish was phenomenal. I also tried the lemon tart and enjoyed it very much

The raspberry sufflet was great! The interior design is really nice too. Great place to hang out for a few hours while waiting for the bus.

Nice and cozy cafe and restaurant. I visited on weekday which has no other customers. The music is nice. The space is spacious and clean. Restroom is clean. The price is quite high but worth for the quality. Food is very delicious, every item in the dish is well cooked.

Higher end coffee place, which is reflected in prices. The staff was very friendly, cappucino's were great as expected. Seating inside with A/C and outside. Menu of deserts, wine and more.

👍👍 Very cute coffee place. The cats are all very adorable and the coffee is delicious. They offer you to feed the cats for 40 Thai baht.
