Phenomenal food and lovely people. So friendly and helpful. They have just reopened having been closed since the start of the pandemic so the menu is somewhat limited. We had both dishes on offer and they did a vegetarian version of one just for us. Really great flavours - feels like home cooking. Help them get going again after the pandemic - they deserve your £/$ and you won't be disappointed.

We ate lunch here yesterday after reading about the restaurant in the Lonely Planet, seems the book needs to be updated. We ordered Khao Soi and it was one of the worst we've had and Pad Thai that tasted horrible, like the sauces came from a can (and we're maybe expired?) and it had no peanuts or veggies just noodles and chicken. Wouldn't recommend this restaurant, seems like there are many other places nearby that would be better to try!

Amazing food. Owner was really nice and spoke really well English. Highly recommend the pad Thai, since it was the best one I had yet in Thailand

Their Crispy pork ❤️ hits all the right spots. It's crispy and has enough fat without being over-empowering. Surprisingly, it's not spicy despite the color. But they have a dipping sauce to add some kick. The cucumber slices make for a nice refreshing palate cleanser. Will definitely come back.

This is a great little restaurant, a place I had eaten several meals in the days before covid. I love everything about the place. First of all, it's a small family run business. Owners speak perfect English and are happy to discuss the food they sell. From what I understand, they have just recently reopened post-covid, and thus are currently offering a limited menu. When I visited, they were serving just two dishes - nam ngiao and khao soi. I ordered each dish a different night, and both were tremendously delicious. Nam ngiao (60b) was meticulously assembled and served with a side of pickled vegetables. Meat was perfectly tender, and the owner showed me a special ingredient they add - dried flowers from a specific tree. Have not seen this added to nam ngiao before. I actually thought it was shredded beef until told otherwise. Khao soi (50b) was also well presented and served with a different type of spicy pickled vegetables. Neither dish was overly spicy, just wonderfully flavorful. Serving sizes were medium. The restaurant itself is very clean and comfortable. I am looking forward to the further expansion of their menu, as I have enjoyed several dishes here.

Very good, delicious. To be honest I dont know what we had, there was only a choice of two dishes, but the chicken sth (like a yellow curry) was very good.

Excellent food and people. The Gaeng Hunlay was not fatty and VERY tasty compared to others I have eaten over the last 20 years. Even the fried mixed vegetables stood out! I will definitely go back soon! It;s run by a family and they really care. No waitstaff with cell phones in their hands!

the four stars get 4 stars; 4 stars are for the 4 ladies that run the place, friend of the family, a teacher, thai man is there mornings; he speaks excellent english; when i last visited, a month ago, they were contemplating closing the place due to so few customers; their food is good, beer available, only the baby bottles; hope they dont close, nice enough interior , good location , difficult parking

The foods were on the average side though compare to other places in Chiang Rai, a little oily. reasonable price. Very friendly boss and nice place to sit for lunch.

The couple who runs this place is super nice. I ordered a l chicken salad and Pad Thai. While the chicken salad was delicious, the Pad Thai was subpar. I feel that the salad was overpriced at 100 baht for the size that it was. I'd probably go back and give it another try. WiFi was decent.
