You see the Huge White Buddha long before arriving here; a very impressive sight. Plenty to see here. You can take the lift for 40Bht up inside the Buddha and look out of the round window at the top, which is actually the round mark you see on the Buddha's forehead from below. It's lovely how a group of smart uniformed women & men greet you as you both enter and exit the lift at the base of the Buddha, almost like you're Royalty. Two other buildings on this site. The white building has echoes of the "White Temple" and is beautifully designed. When I was there, amid tight security, a very important Monk was visiting the Temple, his picture is on the wall of the Temple and he was shown much reverence. The third building, in pyramid shape, is another shrine. Many people coming here to "Make Merit" and purchasing bags of rice as offerings. The best view of the wooden Buddha statues is actually from the first floor (up from the ground floor). If you try to take a photo from the second floor, the Chandelier gets in the way. This place is free to visit with plenty of parking, the only cost being that of the lift if you chose to ascend inside the Big Buddha. I think this is the biggest Buddha I've seen and bigger than the well know one in Phuket.

Amazing place but we couldn't get out of here for a long time because the Grab app doesn't work in this area and there are no taxis. If you don't go with a tour guide make sure to have your taxi/Grab driver wait for you in the car park.

Free entrance, you have to pay 100 bth just in case u want to go to the top of the big statue. I recommend to go up there, really nice building details and views. There's 3 big temples, completely different from each other. There is car parking and some places to eat also. Good point to see the sunset.

Wonderful place for worship of Kwan Yin Bodhisattva, or the Goddess of Mercy. The temple is decorated in the Chinese style, in contrast with most temples in Thailand. As the place is out of town, we took a Grab. For lunch nearby, consider the free vegetarian meal in the temple canteen, or Thai dishes such as rice with basil pork at the 20-baht eatery just next to the temple.

This is an amazing place with huge Buddha statue. Very cool place to visit, a lot of steps to climb but it is worth it! Highly recommended. Also, don’t forget to visit the temple! Sublime!

(Translated by Google) Huay Pla Kung Temple A large temple The great Goddess Guanyin stood out clearly from sitting in the plane. Welfare restaurant, price 20 baht, every dish, fried egg, add 5 baht, big dish, and very delicious. Or you can have a free meal at a temple restaurant. This Wat is a must visit in Chiang Rai, the size is incredible, photos don't do it justice. There are about 200 steps up to the temple, or you can get a shuttle bus up. You can visit the top of the structure via an elevator for 20bht. Inside the head is decorated, and there are small windows to enjoy the view. The staff are very friendly.

It has very unique atmosphere. Even though there are many tourists, but the temple keeps its mysterious and holy mood. And it is all different the statue in day time and in the evening, plus the sunset is really beautiful behind of Buddha statue, I recommend to visit around sunset time.

This temple has a huge statue of Goddess of Mercy, which you can take a lift up to the head portion, where you can look out from her eyes and forehead. Below the goddess are two great dragons protecting the stairs. Though this temple might feel a bit more commercial, I think it is still worth a visit. There is also another side temple and a pagoda.

A beautiful temple we stopped by on our way to Singha Park. The campus is huge and there are a total of two temples with a pagoda here. The main attraction is the huge towering statue of the Goddess herself. We need to climb a flight of stairs to reach the top. On reaching we can even reach the eye of the statue through an elevator. We need to get tickets for that and the view from up there is amazing. Plus the area is adorned with beautiful pure white statues of gods and goddesses.

Absolutely stunning place! At the goddess you can go up the stairs and then take the elevator inside (40 Baht per person) to the 25th floor. Then your age literally inside the head of the goddess with beautiful white decoration in the walls and you can look outside her eyes into the surrounding nature. Next to it there is a nice white temple and another pyramide-like Chinese temple with 9 floors and wooden figures on each floor.

(Translated by Google) Huay Pla Kung Temple, Chiang Rai The specialty here is the perfect blend of Chinese art and Lanna art. 🙏 Found luck at Dhammajedi The main chedi of the temple, which is 9 stories high, has an unusual shape that cannot be seen anywhere other than here. It is a Chinese art form blended with the Lanna style beautifully. 🙏 Goddess Guanyin Which is the largest in Thailand It has a height of about 79 meters. very nice place with a lot to go around, peaceful place a bit of walking, can be helped with the local cars. temples are very nice, its not worth paying for go on top of the buddha though as there is nothing to see or do.... windows to look outside from up there are very small and dirty and the inside is nicely decorated with white dragons and monks, but really disappointing.

For the second time visit, this place is easy to reach with parking and few spots to refresh. The temple has many floors and lots of wood sculpture, all beautiful in details. The other side has a lift and a nice panorama.

One of my favourite temple sites in Thailand. The giant goddess of compassion statue overlooking the area is a beautiful sure to see. You can take a lift to the top of the statue and take the free shuttle to the entrance of the statue.

Amazing temple. It has 3 parts you can visit. It was very hot this day and there is almost nl shadow or trees and a lot of stairs to climb. It is very beautiful and free of charge. They only charge you to use the lift to big buddha but reading the reviews we decided not to go.

  • 5/5 Roza L. 1 year ago on Google
Definitely worth going up the not so appealing stairs!! When you get inside the temple you will be welcomed and invited to go up in a lift to the top of the Buddha temple! The views from there are amazing, you get to look out through the eyes of the statue (just be careful you don't drop your phone when taking photos!!) It has very pretty walls on the inside, this is definitely one I'll remember!

  • 3/5 P. 1 year ago on Google
Very pretty!! If you’re not fit enough to walk the stairs, you can actually hop on the operating “cars” over there. However, accessibility was not that great. It’s not downtown, so we came here by Grab in the late afternoon, and when we wanted to go back, there were no taxi’s around and we couldn’t find a Grab for a long time since it was raining and rush hour started. So it might be handy to check with taxi driver to pick you up later on, so you won’t be stuck.

Breathtaking temple in white bathed in gorgeous lighting. Go at night to get the lit up experience. Unfortunately the lift to the top of the Buddha (for 40 Baht) was not open in the evening. That would have been incredible

  • 5/5 Martin M. 2 months ago on Google New
It’s a super touristy and well organized place. You wonder why they don’t charge an entrance fee, but the bus that takes you from the temple up to the statue is free as are the many many restrooms. There are restaurants close by that are fairly cheap. The main attractions are nice to see and well done modern builds. Inside the pagoda is a wooden buddha and some opportunity to donate. Inside the statue a lift takes you up to the eye on the 25th floor for 40 THB. Worth a visit when you are in the area but a secondary attraction certainly when compared to the White Temple

Enormous Guan Yin Ma and spectacular view from the foot of the mountain. You can see this far far away before you reach the site. I really like this place so much! There got a free ride to the top of mountain and you can donate the tips box to buy medical equipment!

My hostel owner recommended this place. Easy to drive scooter to here. No entry fee. Can take photo inside the temple. Unlike other temples, this one is influenced by Chinese culture. Many Chinese folktales and gods are decorated in the building. The atmosphere is more chill than the White Temple. Btw this temple is white as well so you can have some white check in pics.

Easy to access to the top without much effort. The statue top view was magnificent and it's very well managed for a fee of 40B. Donations are well up to the individual and there's free food not only at the dining hall but also another stall at the parking area. I've never seen such a place anywhere else in the world.

Driving up you can see the massive size of the Buddha statue, truly took me by surprise. I went at the hottest part of the day around 13:00-15:00 and definitely made it harder to stay for too long. I recommend early or later in the day. As for the entire area, it is very breath taking. There are three temples to explore, all with their own unique ambiance. I highly recommend checking this place out!
