This small temple definitely has less traffic than others in the area, but it has a few unique features that make it worth a visit. All of the halls that are currently accessible have beautiful woodwork, and one also includes historical photos, including King Rama IX’s visit. Beautiful Buddhist paintings and artwork around the grounds, often showing a touch of Hindu influence, are very well preserved.

A Temple complex with several buildings, a Chedi and two prayer halls with ornate decorations. Be sure to see the illuminated Buddha in the ornate housing.

My 3rd favourite wat in Chiang Rai. About 10-15 minutes walk from the centre. It's quiet and peaceful. Worth the visit

Wat Phra Sing, one of Chiang Rai's most revered and historic temples, is an architectural masterpiece that encapsulates the city's spiritual and cultural heritage. Located in the heart of Chiang Rai's old town, this sacred temple, also known as the "Temple of the Lion Buddha," exudes an aura of serenity and reverence. The temple's history dates back to the 14th century, making it one of the city's oldest religious sites. Its significance lies in enshrining the revered Phra Buddha Sihing image, a highly venerated Buddha statue believed to have protective powers. As visitors approach Wat Phra Sing, they are met with a grand and ornate entrance guarded by mythical lion statues, leading to a courtyard adorned with vibrant floral displays and intricate stone carvings. The central prayer hall, a stunning example of Lanna architecture, showcases intricately carved teakwood panels and glistening gold details that add to its opulent beauty. Inside the temple's sacred sanctuary, the revered Phra Buddha Sihing image is enshrined in a resplendent gold and glass case, drawing devotees and visitors seeking blessings and spiritual solace. The temple grounds provide a peaceful oasis, with serene gardens, ancient trees, and serene ponds offering a tranquil space for contemplation and reflection. Wat Phra Sing's cultural significance, architectural elegance, and spiritual ambiance make it a must-visit destination for travelers seeking to delve into Chiang Rai's rich history and immerse themselves in the timeless allure of Thai temple art and devotion.

The golden Chedi on the western side is breathtaking. Both temples offer unique craftsmanship and artwork.. the one wooden temple with ornate carving while the other focuses on Buddha and students. Sunday afternoon appeared a good time to meander through with no other people in sight I had the venue to myself to look, observe and contemplate. No entrance fees needed. Lots of parking available. Also walking distance from most other temples in the area.

Nice temple. It has some very beautiful buildings. If you are nearby, i recommend it. It is pretty close to emerald buda temple.

Small but cute complex in the heart of Chiang Rai. It doesn't seem to be crowded, so you can really take a moment, breath deeply and enjoy the beauty

At Wat Phra Sing, you'll find three distinct temples sharing the grounds. Of these, one caught my attention with its unconventional red structure that encased a Buddha figure, adding a dash of intrigue to the visit
