What a unique experience! The clock structure is pretty spectacular anyway with its intricate form and detail in gold, but come 9pm that all changes. Those that get there to see it will be treated to a light show that bathes the clock in a myriad of differing colours. It’s quite special and worth a visit if you are in the region. I haven’t added photos of the light show as I was too busy watching and enjoying it. 😊

It will not help but be surprised to see the bright yellow twisted clock tower at the intersection of Phaholyothin and Banpaprakan roads. Built in 2008, Clock Tower honors King Bhumibhol Adulyadej, the clock tower is the idiosyncrasy of Chalermchai Kositpipat, the artist who built the famous White temple.

I come with expectation to see some nice lightings and music but what I'm getting is just a 10min music and a still single color lighting (yellow). I come on July 2021 at 7pm. It is so meh that I just walk around it once and quickly got bored. The architecture design is indeed spectacular but that's pretty much it.

The Chiang Rai clock tower looks very iconic. A golden clock tower right at the busy traffic. This was designed by one of Thailand's national artists in honor of Queen Sirikit in 2005. If you manage to be nearby at 19:00, 20:00, or 21:00, you'll be able to witness its sound display. It's quite difficult to take a perfect shot -unfortunately- since this is right at an intersection where traffic is busy. In addition, nearby this beautiful clock tower is an old 'clock tower'.. I forgot what street it was but it's near the market place - a stone's throw from the golden clock tower - I included a not so perfect snap as well as I just saw it when I was passing by 😊

Gaudy and ornate. I like it! The experience isa bit diminished be the enormous blank billboards behind it and the roaring tailpipes of passing cars but the clock tower itself is pretty impressive.

One of Chiang Rai’s iconic place to visit. This clock tower was constructed in 2005 in honor of Queen Sirikit. This work of art by Achan Chalermchai Kositpipat helped boost Chiang Rai’s Tourism. With its ideal location, people can also visit the shops, temples and other attractions easily. I would advise visitors to get hotel near clock tower for easy access within the city.

It’s pretty cool considering it’s a roundabout! But I’m not sure it’s worth all the fuss 😂 definitely go, because why not!

An iconic landmark in the downtown of Chiang Rai province, the clock tower will change the colors with light and sound at 7.00 - 8.00 - 9.00pm everyday

Chang Rai, in general, is amazing! Quiet and very chill. The clock tower is the centre piece of town and a great location to get your bearings! Make sure you get a burger from "Kunda" which is close by!

Not much to say about this one. It's not traditional, newly built later. You can find it easily on the way to The White Temple or Singha Park from the Bus terminal. Not many tourists here. Everyone just go here and take a picture far from the pavement then keep walking.

Incredible gold clock tower created by the same guy that made the white temple. Surrounded by some little restaurants and shops and near the market. The old clock tower the locals fought to keep is a short walk and you can see what they wanted to keep instead of this

went by here afew times in Chiang Rai. It's a lovely old golden clock tower that looks cool in the day and night. New years eve was especially cool hanging around here with live music etc.

We was passing this beautiful Clock Tower at 8pm and it’s started to play music and change colors. Very nice atmosphere.

An iconic monument in Chiang Rai. A golden, ornate clock tower in the middle of a major intersection in the city centre. Most people come to see it at 7, 8 or 9 pm when it is lit by changing colour lights accompanied by music. In the past I would give this 5, but the current show is shorter and there are no moving parts, as in the past, hence only 4. I'm sure they will reinstate the full show sometime.

Fun little tourist attraction: the clock tower has a little light show after dark.

At 7, 8 and 9pm there is a light show. Only for around 5 min, but it is good fun! Plenty of parking around.

We got there at 19:00 (7 pm) and the tower began lighting up and playing a wonderful epic melody 🤩 Highly recommended as a little part of a promenade through the town.

My friends and I were fortunate enough to stumble upon this just at the right time. We where looking for a night market when we got lost and stopped to check the directions, We heard the music start to play, we looked up in front of us and managed to catch the show that plays between day and night on the golden roundabout. The show lasts about 10 minutes, It is very charming to see. If you are in the area at the right time it's like an Easter egg find. After the death defying ride on the unbuilt road from Chiang Mai it was quite a nice welcoming reward. It certainly plucked my spirits up. Well worth seeing if you are in the area

Just a clocktower, but a very cool one in the middle of town. Easy to get to, it kills a bit of time if you go for a walk to it.

Go there at 9:00pm for the lights show. This is an other great artwork of Khostipitat

Beautiful. A piece of work from the artist who designs the White Temple and Blue Temple. I was there at 9pm for the little light show with music

Wait till late afternoon.. Sun from the west will pop the golden clock tower against the shop windows in a way that makes your eyes water. Use the middle island on the western side for a selfie.. the clock tower itself is sort of a traffic circle with no real place to stand, cling too, or even hover.. and even on a Saturday afternoon at 5pm cars were still flying by.. (pick your battles and your time and be safe..) Enough said.. its a easy visit landmark for spectacular photos in the chaos of traffic in the not-so-city-center of Chiang Rai.

Impressive golden clocktower that is surrounded by flocks of birds at night. You can find many cafes around the place and some local restaurants.

Clock Tower CR is decoratied Thai arts and crafts. It is a popular place in CR, but make sure you don't compare with Big Ben. There are many local food and restaurants. Banks and hotels are around there too. M-Bike rental are there, 200B/day.

This is the prettiest roundabout you'll ever see but it hardly gets any love. Its located on a busy road with constant traffic so its hard to stop and appreciate. You need to go on foot so you can admire it. Unfortunately I didn't get to see the light show (every night at 7-8-9 o'clock).
