Nice temple with some remnants of other building foundations scattered in a large field. There are artwork sculptures on open air display now until the end of April 2024. Free admission.

Small but interesting historical park providing an indication of the ancient city founded in the early 14th century by Saen Phu, grandson of King Mengrai, ruler of Lanna.

Lovely walk in the morning discovering the huge site with ancient ruins. It was the highlight of our stay in Chiang Saen.

this from a local; this is one of the better "temples' in the area, often described as 'temples' when they are really temple ruins; this one is in a park-like atmosphere, very pretty, quiet, relaxing, ok parking; they used to charge admission , sometimes on and off these days; big grounds; the map is wrong , that frontage road goes all the way thru; worth a visit

Very interesting historical site worth visiting. Wish they had more information about the historical importance of these buildings. Make sure to have a professional guide with you that can explain the history behind it.

Wat Pa Sak is an incredible temple ruin located in Thailand. It is a beautiful destination that has an old world charm. The atmosphere surrounding Wat Pa Sak is serene and peaceful, with fascinating architecture and sculpture. It is a perfect place for meditation and reflection. The greenery and lush landscape around the ruins make it even more breathtaking. The sculptures and carvings are well preserved and in excellent condition. There is also a museum and library containing artifacts from the site. The staff here is friendly and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend visiting Wat Pa Sak to anyone looking for a unique cultural experience.

It was a temple that is very very old. I came here with a guide and they told us about the history of this temple. It is amazing how it’s still standing. I would say it’s only interesting if you knew you, Siri history behind it. There are no signs or information around the temple so you wouldn’t be able to access that information unless a tour guide told you it or you knew it before hand

Loved this olden pagoda. Just plain and simple but beautiful. There are underground tunnels which are fascinating. It's a very tranquil place.

When I see a site like these it gives me chills. Just try to think how they lived 800 + years ago. How these buildings served who ever lived there. If we could go back in time to see and understand.

Calm and beautiful park with several ruins of old temples. Tickets cost 50B per person. There were several dogs running around, but not aggressive, probably they were accompanying the ticket officer.

Out of the ordinary site, worth a visit if in area but don't make any detours.

I really liked this place, for both the small size of the area and the peacefulness of the area. The temple here is beautiful. I don't use the word magical lightly, or often, but in the morning this place is magical.

Mesmerizing compound consisting of a partially restored chedi and brick foundations of smaller temples scattered amid towering teak trees, dating back to the late 13th century. The main temple is an interesting mix of Lanna and Khmer styles - the stuccos on the upper tower and the Buddhas in the lower alcoves are fantastic. There were no other visitors during a late evening visit. Perfect place to meditate if the weather permits. 50 baht entrance fee payable to the caretaker, if he happens to be around at the gate.

A beautiful preserved and cared for historical site in a park with stupa and city walls displayed in situ. This is the ancient city of Chiang Saen dating back to 14th century.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ This is spectacular. Besides the breath-taking view across the Mekong to Laos, the experience of being on a glass shelf jutting out from the mountain is sensational. But it’s also funny to witness the fear many people feel when they can see the floor of the forest 500 feet below them. This is defin...
