Go to Maesai Border (Myanmar-Thailand border). Go inside the traditional market there and you will see the hundreds stairs. You will be able to see the magnificent scenery from above. Coming in the morning, before the sun is too hot, will be better.

A must see when in Mae Sai. There's a bit of a hike up the steps to get to it so bring an iced drink. The temple itself is very nice but the giant scorpion and more especially the view of Myanmar makes it well worth the climb. You don't have to pay anything to wander around the grounds of Wat Phra Tat Doi Wao. The views are stunning

Just went there to relax and take a good mountain view. Not a tourist hotspot yet. Try visiting it before it becomes one.

This little known temple on a hill overlooking the border town Mae Sai and the Myanmar town of Tachileik provides a beautiful panoramic view. King Wao who ruled Yonok Nakorn built this place in order to store Buddha's hair in 364 B.E. Wao is a Lanna language which means a scorpion. The Phra That has been deteriorated over time, yet it has been repaired many times also. During the major restoration, Buddha relics have been found and burried in the pagoda. Around Phra That area, it is decorated with shady trees and pleasant pathway. Other highlights include the statues of Phra Naresuan Maharat, Ekathotsarot and Phra Suphan Kanlaya facing Myanmar's border similar to the statue of King Bayinnaung which also turns towards Thailand from Myanmar representing the good relationship between the two countries. Another highlight is Paichayon Castle which has been constructed in Lanna style for the purpose of reminiscing the good and worshipping Indra. The perfect time to visit is the full moon day on 5th month of Thai lunar calendar, north (the 3rd month south which is Magha Puja Day) as there is a ritual to worship Phra That each year. Also, during Songkran Day, local people will sprinkle water onto a Buddha image. Near Phra That, local food and souvenir shop are available such as Mae Salong , fruits in winter season and beautiful handicrafts. To visit, take Mae Sai road. The temple is 100 meters before reaching Mae Sai border. The entrance to the temple is on the left side with stairs leading to Phra That or you can park at the scenic view point.

A beautiful temple site on a hill in Mae Sai, Thailand, overlooking the town of Thachilek, Myanmar. You can either walk up the hill on the temple steps or around the mountain on a winding road. Both have their attractions and will get you there. I should mention that walking up the street from the main road of Mae Sai you will first pass through a very colourful market area and just before you get to the temple steps you will see a few noodle shops (which are pretty good and give you energy for the walk up the hill).

From here you get a genuinely beautiful view of both the Thao and Burmese side og the border. But there are also some restaurants where you will get an ever-better view of Mai Sai. The stairs to the tempel are awfully long, but you can drive all the way to the top, if you have a car or a motorcycle. I did not know that, so I took the stairs, but when I reached the top and saw the cars on the parking lot I knew I had missed something :)

Top of the hill. See great scene there. Walk up and down to exercise. Do not miss this one if you go to Maesai district.

Beautiful temple and Chedi seems rather old, they are making renovation to the place, the public toilets is newly built and looks like a 5 star hotel toilet. The newly refurbished cafe has a good view of Myammar side. Worth coming especially when they have completed their sky walk, but not sure when it will be completed.

It’s a very nice viewpoint. There is a huge street market in the base of the hill and then this temple complex. 1-2h before the sunset is the best time. There is a coffee shop just at the top that offer a nice view and some food. It’s a worth stop if you are visiting the Northernmost Point of Thailand

Really silent and peaceful place to visit. I like to visit it alone just to enjoy the scenery of Myanmar above Doi Wao.
