The fried steak is absolutely worth the trip here!!! But ... You MUST order it DRY and ask for the sauce on the side. You can just dip it in the sauce as needed. The pizza (both Chicago and regular crust) were delicious!! The fries were honestly just average at best. But I will for sure make it back next time in Chicago. Side note, the food ordering process is easy and efficient. The parking was right across the street... Plenty of space and free!

Ricobene’s is a must stop for Italian/Chicago fare. We tried a bacon cheese burger, Cheese fries, onion rings, a slice of deep dish lasagna pizza, and of course.. the steak sandwich. To start off… the steak sandwich is LEGENDARY. I got the classic king and it is not for the faint of stomach. Also, if you don’t like to get your hands a bit dirty FORGET ABOUT IT! It’s is a delicious mess explosion of flavor. The onion rings are battered and fried to perfection, and the fries had that hand cut taste and texture, can’t go wrong with either. The burger was probably the weakest thing and even that was really good with a nice char broiled taste. Prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you receive. They have parking right across the street from the restaurant so you don’t have to worry about street parking. We will be back for sure!

A Chicago must if you're in town. The breaded steak is a must buy of course! Their mozzarella sticks and jalapeno poppers are underrated and is a must try. I bought 2 regular steak sandwiches with 2 drinks and 2 sides for just over $45. I'd say it's worth it. It's a ton of flavorful food for what you get. Service is of course great!

Tried this classic Chicago food gem for the first time after hearing about the legendary breaded steak sandwich.. and our expectations were definitely exceeded! The sandwich lives up to its popularity (i recommend adding cheese and hot peppers), extremely flavorful and hearty. The ribs were also delicious, well worth the wait. We also took home a sausage deep dish, which was the best deep dish i’ve had in the city so far. There is plenty of parking outside and seating inside, so if you’re thinking about stopping by, just do it!!

Awesome Chicago institution with delicious breaded steak sandwiches (get it with hot peppers) and other Chicago classics. We had the deep dish as well, which really hit the mark. Milkshakes were rich and on point.

One of the best Chicago staples you’ve probably never heard of. A friend recommended this place to me, and I will be coming back for sure. Of course I had to get the breaded steak sandwich with sauce and cheese. I got the regular size with fries and a drink. That was plenty for just myself. The sandwich was excellent. I can’t wait to come back and try everything else they have (pizza, Italian beef/sausage, hotdog, pasta, wings, etc.) Honestly, everything looked great. There is plenty of parking. It is across the street from the restaurant. There’s people coming in and out constantly so a spot will eventually open up quickly if the lot is full. I really enjoyed my experience there and can’t wait to go back.

A chicago staple! This is what I do…. I always take someone with and I order a King Breaded steak with green peppers and a King Vesuvio and one bag of fries. This way I get a half of each…. capisce? Both sandwiches are delicious and HUGE. Fries are fresh cut… soft with crispy ends and there are tons in the bag. Restaurant is nostalgic and clean. Atmosphere is nice, a mix of city workers, coppers, and Chicago natives with a speckle of tourists. Staff is nice. Parking is easy…. Right across the street and under the expressway.

First time here. Snow flurries didn't stop anyone from coming here. Food was amazing! Jalapeño poppers were perfect and the steak sandwich was addicting with every bite. Very filling meal.

I've been coming to Ricobene's for years, living in Chicago, it's a food staple. It's usually always busy, but the wait for placing orders and getting your food doesn't take too long. Parking can be a bit challenging but not the worst. I've tried many different items and have not been disappointed with any of them, but the french fries used to be better. Would recommend trying it out. 👌🏽 👍🏽

A Chicago Staple that’s for sure !! Been coming here since I’ve been a kid . Best Sandwiches !!! Pizza is pretty good too but you come for those sandwiches! My favorite is the Chicken Vesuzio on garlic bread with extra onions !! Those Rico fry’s are a must !!! I allways crave those !! And ofcourse the Breaded Steak Sandwich as well !! Definitely can get packed on the weekends especially around 2 to 4 but they do have a parking lot right across the street so if it does get that packed you can allways eat in your car lol The seating area is actually pretty big and a lot of places to sit .

Look, let me 1st say this, if you don't have a colossal appetite prepared, DO NOT ORDER THE KING SIZE. Now, with that being said, I was 100% not ready for the sheer size of this monstrously gigantic sandwich. I pride myself on having a big appetite, and finishing my food, let's just say I took a loss this day lol. The weight, size, and amount of steak, cheese, and marinara sauce stuffed into a bun that even under incredible weight held itself together was crazy. The breaded steak was tender and juicy, the cheese perfectly melted, and the marinara sauce providing the coating to marry all the other flavors together. If you're feeling like taking on a daunting task, by all means order the King sized, and see how you manage, however, the regular size would be plenty of food for one sitting.

A true Chicago original! Whats there not to like about this place. Biggest and best breaded steak sandwiches anywhere. Not a sign le ingredient has changed in all of the years I’ve had take away or dine-in. Wish they had more locations like like before but I’m glad they didn’t completely shut their doors. MUST try to anyone who visits Chicago! It’s Ghostbuster approved. Lol

This place came highly recommended from friends, so we stopped in to give it a try. Ordered one slice of deep dish pizza, with mix of three cheese and spinach. Since they're known for their steak sandwiches, we ordered two king size "dry", so the sauce is one the side with a side of sweet peppers. First, I would not call this Chicago style pizza, as I'm used to from Giordano's or Gino's, which were my expectations. Toppings and sauce are baked on top of the dough. Taste-wise it was okay. Light on flavor, not sure if not enough seasoning in the sauce, or what. Next, the steak sandwiches were good. I don't know that I'd say the best I've ever had but certainly different. The meat was more like Milanese style, slices of beef dredged in breadcrumbs and fried. It's then folded into a sub with mozzarella cheese melted in the middle. The sauce that comes with it is marinara. You can order peppers on it or on the side, choice of jalapeño or sweet peppers. As for customer service, this seemed to be hit or miss, depending on the staff member, as I observed them taking orders. The girl who ended up taking our order was efficient. The restaurant is very spacious. Good for parties.

Apologies for the bad photo! But I've been here alot but never reviewed the food. I will say that this recent trip was the first time I've ever tried the chicken vesuvio sandwich. It was sooo good! I usually get the breaded steak. I can say both sandwiches are a 10/10 and the fries are always good!

Everything was awesome. Great food, service and prices. Breaded steak was delicious and very filling and solid fries as well. Best deal was the milkshake though. One of the best, super thick, very delicious and a great price. Couldn’t recommend more. Excited to try the wings and pizza next time.

Ehhh. Not worth the hype at all!! They forgot about our order, so after 45min, we asked the counter where it was. Then they got food out for us, but it was wrong. Fried chicken was dry. Won’t be returning, unfortunately.

I was recommended by a couple of people at work to try this place for their famous breaded steak sandwich.. Since I live so far up north that driving to work is just an hour sometimes I wanted to know if it was worth taking the drive 20 mins more south to get just a sandwich. So since yesterday was my birthday I decided to go after work and then just rush home with my food with the hear blasting and finally try it. So I lost story short I walked to a crowded place which only meant the food must be amazing. I was glad I placed an online order so I could just do the pick up line since the regular line was out the door. The "pizza by the slice" line also existed and was half the size of the regular. I was early by 10 mins for my estimated delivery time and it was busy so they asked me to come back in like 20 mins since I ordered a pizza etc. I came back and picked up my order which was a large Breaded steak pizza, a king sized Breaded steak sandwich with chili cheese fries and mozzarella sticks. I was surprised that the mozzarella sticks didn't have the traditional Italian seasoning breading (it was actually so delicious regardless 10/10) The chili cheese fries looked different to my expectations as well but wow.. The flavor was definitely there. I would have asked for extra cheese or maybe a side or gravy or something to throw on top. But otherwise 9/10. The sandwich was definitely great. Just wish it was on garlic toast like I had originally ordered ...(it was probably because it was so busy) But it was a 8/10 The pizza was great as well. The sauce is pretty good and cheese as well. It doesn't taste like generic flavors at other places. 8/10. If it wasn't for the fact that it smelled like PEE.. the whole time I was outside walking up to the place ... and that i almost got hit twice as I was in my car.. "parked" NOT MOVING.. .. And then as I pulled out ..someone else almost hit me LMAO. I would have had an amazing time. But I would definitely like to try and dine in. It looks like a great spot to bring some people so they can enjoy it as well!. They have other things I would like to try so definitely will come back.

My first time here and first time having a breaded steak sandwich. I have Invisalign and my teeth are a bit sore so I was sort of worried about having a steak sandwich. Omg it was BUTTER soft. The fries (which were superb btw) were harder on my teeth than the sandwich. It was so so yummy. I am rather depressed now that I know I have missed out on having these my whole life. We had promised my mom to take her here over 15 years ago and we FINALLY made good on the promise. She said it was well worth the wait!
