The North Shore Health system is the most inefficient business model that is not set up to help patients. You can't get through to speak to anyone. If you use NS connect, doctors don't write back for over a week (if ever). Often times they tell me they never got a message in the first place and I can clearly see it on my end. I really think a lot of great people work there but the system is horrible as a whole.

What happened to the knowledgeable Dr's and staff that was once there? I've been with NS since 2011. The staff diagnosed and followed up with everything. Now the staff give you the feeling that you or your concerns are not theirs. Can't trust any of their diagnosis or treatments especially concerning surgeries. 4 yrs after surgery, I'm worst now then before surgery. Update: Made appt in May to see a PCP, got a call day before appt " this dr isn't accepting new patients." It took 6 months to figure that out! It's time to find a better company because this is ridiculous 😡

While I have been very happy with the doctors and other medical professionals at NorthShore, the customer care if absolutely terrible. Gone are the days when I can readily reach a doctor's office directly. I cannot call a doctor's office directly if I can't find the facility--I'm stuck on the phone waiting for a CALL CENTER rep to answer. All they can do is send a MESSAGE to the care team. I cannot speak to anyone where I am actually seen by as a patient. It is clear that NorthShore's BUSINESS model revolves around making things easier (and more profitable) for NorthShore. It does NOT benefit the patients or the doctors. We have seen multiple doctors that have given us ways to bypass NorthShore because their frustrations EXCEED our own. I am waiting for test results for my son --concerning results. My phone did not ring and I missed the call. I could not return the doctor's call. I had to be routed to the call center so she could send a message for the doctor to contact me in 24-48 hours. It is clear where your priorities lie. Our insurance is coming up for open enrollment and you can bet that we will spring for better insurance so we can get away from NorthShore. It's unfortunate, because you employ a great team of doctors, but it is not worth the hassle. As a business owner whose business model revolves around the customer, I refuse to deal with a business who is so greedy they will let the customer's experience fall to the wayside in an effort to make an extra buck. There is a solution where everyone wins, but that can't happen when NorthShore must get more than is necessary or fair at the expense of the patient. The only thing NorthShore has going for it, are its doctors. Doctors that aren't happy! Patients that feel obliged to deal with your greedy business model! This is not a sustainable model and things are evolving every day. Doctors are leaving. Nurses are leaving. New ways of providing patient care are popping up everywhere. Would be great to see such a large business adopt a model that gives the customer what they need...be better than your competitors!

I have a terrific doctor with a competent, friendly staff. Unfortunately his privileges are affiliated with Northshore. They have never gotten a bill correct, a phone call gets that particular bill corrected, only for the mistake to recur every time. A real laugher until erroneous bills are sent to collection. Just try and reach someone who can make decisions and fix problems! Again, the medical professionals have been great, the machinery "back of the house" is deal-breaking horrible. If you get one promise kept, one phone call returned in a timely manner, you have done better than me.

Staff is great! Management of Lab Services HORRIBLE. Waiting over an hour to have my blood drawn behind 10 people on a Saturday morning in Northfield. Unable to make appointments at most facilities. Had to fast 8-12 hours so not an option to come back later.

About North Shore University Health Systems. My PCP, Ophthalmologist, and pain Dr. are wonderful. Communication from the Urology Dept. to both myself, and the staff, is terrible. Phone calls don't get returned promptly, if at all. My surgeon in the Urology Dept. had no compassion or empathy whatsoever. He boasted that I would be just fine after his surgery, and I was not. I had bad problems for 10 months, after surgery, from Aug 2022-June 2023. I called once, post surgically, at 9 p.m. not knowing who was on call. My surgeon answered, berated me for not having called earlier. "I don't have much time, I wish you had called earlier, I'm at my son's soccer game." N.S. either had equipment to perform tests and no one to administer them, and vice versa. Rush had everything and everyone. Most of my problems were solved at Rush Hospital; there might be one minor problem left. Communication was FAST, the head of the Dept. and his nurses truly cared about me. The last urologist whom I had seen at N.S. felt that I needed a second operation. The Urologist at Rush felt otherwise, and six weeks after treatment has ended, no other operation has been necessary. DO NOT be treated at N.S. for urological problems.

Garbage APP Garbage Web BROWERSER can't log my father in on the app due to stuck on the verification code screen doesn't do anything. The web browser won't go past the 1st page after you add all the info required how am I supposed to see when his next surgery is. Couldn't leave a review for the app because it's acting stupid so I'll leave it here. What's the point of having an app AND web browser that don't work as they are intended to. I put all his info in over 7 times just to get nowhere really frustrating!!!!!

If I could give this place 0, I would. They have been an absolute nightmare to deal with. My child's pediatrician sent samples here for testing. It took them 9 months to send a bill. They won't bill the correct insurance, they won't answer the phone, and they won't return messages. They are now threatening to send a bill to collections that I have been trying to pay for the last 3 months.
