Complete scam. Prepaid our reservation online via a corporate discount, but when we went there to pick it up their card reader couldn’t read our perfectly legit drivers license. Instead of verifying it by other means, they just completely refused our pick up. We then had to use another drivers license, where they upsold the reservation for 4x the price. Staff was completely unhelpful and didn’t try to make the situation right at all.

I wish I looked at the reviews before booking. This place runs a scam where they find any reason not to accept your reservation and make you rebook for 5x the price. I had prepaid my reservation, did the pre check in, and when I show up to pick up my car, he claims my credit card is in their system under a different name. It says my name right on the credit card so your system is wrong.. why am I being penalized for that. Maybe change what’s in your system? Seems like a pretty simple fix. And why wasn’t this flagged beforehand when I booked it and pre checked in? He was happy to offer a new reservation for almost $300/day.. Do your self a favor and rent a car from anywhere else

Seems like I should have read the recent reviews as it appears we had the same issue as others. We prepaid and did pre check in for our vehicle rental. We rented a vehicle to drive to the Mayo Clinic so we were really relying on this rental. I made the reservation under my husband's name and paid with my credit card. My reservation was confirmed and there was no indication the card had to match the primary driver name. When we got there to pick it up we were told the names needed to match exactly even though we are married and they couldn't change the name. They told me to call corporate and get the name modified. I called and was told they could not change the name but I could cancel and rebook the reservation and it would be more expensive. They said they would cancel and we could rebook with the agent on site. It was canceled and we were told by the agent we couldn't rebook because they were now sold out. We were left having to go to Indiana to get a vehicle so we could get to a medical appointment. As the other reviewers said, it seems like some sort of scam where they want you to rebook at a higher rate. Definitely never booking with this company again.

Very disappointed. We reserved online with our credit card (which is also a debit card) and went to pick up a minivan. We were told they can’t accept our card because it’s a minivan and need a full credit card (not combined with debit card). The wouldn’t even try to run our card to see if it would work. Luckily my FIL is letting us borrow his van and now Avis is out our $300+.

I dropped off a car recently after a short vacation. It was relatively clean - nothing a standard vacuuming wouldn't take care of. I was charged a $450 fee. After asking for help in the matter, Avis kindly waived the fee in recognition of my 30+ years of loyal business. And I have promised to be more careful. I appreciate being heard and respected in this matter.

Modern vehicles, helpful staff, competitive rates. I have always rented form Avis for both; business, and personal needs. The only reason I give a 4 star rating is because the vehicles invented needed a better inside cleaning. Other than that; I highly recommend it!

Make sure you have the staff walk around the car with you upon pickup and drop off, I know it is easier to just receive the keys but in my case the car had a scratch that even came with touch-ups so assumed there was a record but they actually sent me an email stating it happened during my rental period. I had paid extra $30 for damage coverage so I'm good, but just the intention of this act disappoints me from this AVIS location.

Avis- first and last time I will rent through them. Enterprise is hands down the more reputable company to use. Extreme unprofessional staff, zero accountability to claims and policies. Do not use.
