I was in Chicago for the first time ever today. We were up visiting a friend and sightseeing. We stopped in to this restaurant for food and a few drinks. Our waiter was Julio. He was AMAZING. He was on top of every outside table in the street today. He was so friendly. He made every table feel like they were the number one customer! We felt we had to compliment him for the great service so we made a point to tell him he was the greatest waiter we have ever had and we appreciated him. He thanked us graciously and appreciated the compliments. He came out with a shot for all of us and said that he appreciated the compliment and he got them for us as a gift. If you go here, ask for Julio. You will have an amazing visit guaranteed. 💕

Amazing food and staff. Bartender was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about all the whiskeys and bourbons I knew nothing about. We got the Berkshire pulled pork and the brisket burnt ends grilled cheese and loved every single bite.

Solid meats and good sauces. Not the best bbq but pretty good. We had the platter which comes with the meats but not the wings. Pulled pork and ribs were good. Brisket was fatty but melted in the mouth. They said the wings are the best but we did not try them. Cool atmosphere and lots of bars in a nice location.

Stopped by Bub City tonight, after walking around to find a place to dine. Our waiter, Julio V, was fantastic!! He gave us great suggestions & was very patient as we took our time deciding. I ordered the No Shoes, No Shirt & it was delicious! It tasted like passionfruit juice but I didn't taste the alcohol, nor did I feel it. If you're looking for a great tasting sweet drink with hardly any alcohol, this is your drink! We ordered the fried pickles, I'd give them a 2 out of 5 only bcuz the ranch dipping dressing was good. My friend ordered the ribs & they were not tender nor did they fall off the bones, maybe that's not a thing in Chicago (shrug). She also ordered the cornbread & it was very good!!! I ordered the Cali burger & it a good. The tater tots were okay, they tasted better dipped in the ranch dressing. Overall, it was a decent visit.

I had never heard of this restaurant before I received two gift cards from a friend. What an awesome place this is. I had the brisket sandwich and it was absolutely delicious. My friend had chicken and ribs, and my other friend had the salmon. I would highly recommend coming to this restaurant for good food and good service. Try the fried pickles too!

Good food! Their smoked meats were delicious and the drinks were a good price. Their fried goods (fries, fried pickles, tater tots, etc.) were a little plain, the type of things you could get anywhere. Overall we had a pleasant time here.

Popped in on a slow Sunday night for a burger/beer and to charge my phone. The pickles that came with burger were so good, I ended up getting an order of fried pickles too. Friendly servers and patrons. Baseball and hockey on TVs.

Love the music! All country! They also have love bands. I got the double cheeseburger. I wish the onions were not little chunks it was messing taking them off. I should have asked if they were little pieces. Nice and friendly staff. Their ranch was also very good. They have Coke products, with free refills. On the weekend the cover charge was $10.00 for the live band.

Service was fast and professional and the place does have a vibe. Lot's of TV screens and great outdoor seating. The food however... Is mediocre. It's not bad, but nothing special. Pulled pork was okay, brisket was fine, coleslaw had way too much mayo, taters tasted like they came from a bag.

BEST RIBS EVER! We‘re looking for a nice restaurant which offers Ribs in Chicago. Thanks to Google we found Bub City. The ribs and chicken wings were the best we ever had. The meat has fallen from the bone and tasted delicious. The service was very friendly and helpful and we‘ll come back.

It is a another great restaurant under LEY, we have been coming here since it opened, mostly for brunch and occasional dinner. I am updating this review since the menu has changed some after COVID. The BBQ is always good, not the best we have tried but it surpasses Chicago Q since that place ran down hills. I liked the old days when they put all of the sauces on the table, the special BLT sandwich for brunch, the bread pudding... but that is no longer the case. The main BBQ items are still the same on the menu, my favorite nachos, burgers, chicken and waffles etc. I definitely recommend the nachos to share, and the burnt ends to start. As for brunch, biscuits and gravy. The fried chicken items and grits are just ok for me, nothing special, I would go elsewhere for that. The alcohol selection is large and stays true to the southern theme, live music and sports on TVs, pretty standard bar setup.

Good bar. Nice atmosphere. Good variety of beers and dinks. Nice american menu. I got a Burger with fires and I tasted the Bub City beer. Good place to go with friends, nice service

Visited Bub city with a large group for a bachelorette party and we had a great time! Shannon helped us set up our event and catered to our needs. She even made custom menus which were a great touch! Food was so delicious and we had a lot of leftovers- everyone in the party loved it! My only complaint is that we weren’t able to split the check amongst the group or even itemize by seat. I understand with a large group this can take some time, but with current technology splitting makes it very easy. Our server made a hefty tip off of not doing too much work as our food was family style. Would definitely recommend and will be back next visit to Chicago.

I had the brisket sandwich. The meat was decent. The bread was a little flimsy and seemed like a cheap bun. Overall kind of a small sandwich/meal given the price but not a bad option. The atmosphere was really lively and service was good.

love!! Usually go here when visiting family in the city. Pictured was when we were celebrating Sheylyn’s bachelorette weekend! Was nervous about bringing in a large party but made a reservation before hand. Our waitress was so nice and got all our drink and food orders in super fast! Food is always delicious and the love band was setting up as we were finishing. Always love it here and need to go back when they do karaoke!

Clean, friendly place. I had the chopped southwest salad, and it was pretty good. I also had a bottle of Lone Star. It was also good and cold. Our server was nice and checked on us to make sure everything was going well. There are several TVs to watch the sports and the bar is spacious too. Cool place. 😎

Ugh I'm stuffed! I was in the neighborhood and had a hankering for some BBQ. I ordered the brisket, mixed with lean and fat. And my partner had a half slab ribs. We also each ordered a biscuit and a basket of waffle fries. The brisket was great and just melted in my mouth. It was a good portion even though it appeared less than what it was. It came with some great coslaw, red onions, and a slice of texas toast. I would have preferred a garlic style Texas toast. But the biscuit made up the difference. It's a big biscuit! I also had a chance to try the ribs and wow they were tasty. The meat didn't fall off the bone but it was super tender and each rib was full of meat. The waffle fries were soooo good and crunchy. Well worth it! I wasn't able to snap a photo of my meal because I was too hungry. Stop by and give it a try!

Mind blowing Whiskey selection. Smoked brisket was delicious! Good have been a larger portion. Atmosphere is bang on. Several items marked as gluten free on menu 👍 Would go back again.

Yummy BBQ and fun atmosphere! The 18hr brisket was delish and the brussel sprouts were fantastic. The mac and cheese side was huge and more than enough for two people to share. I can’t wait to come again!

Get the cornbread! Good food in a great spot, and solid drinks. Service was awesome!

We stumbled upon this fun karaoke bar with a rock band while trying to find a nearby bar that was closed that night. It was lively & brightly lit inside. Friendly bartenders, alternative crowd-mostly college students. We had a good time. Cocktails were decent. Will be back to try their famous BBQ.

The place was decent, inside is more sporty. We went Saturday afternoon and luckily the wait wasn’t too long without a reservation. Just ten minutes at the bar. Food was subpar but presented well. For drinks I had a mule and it was watery. Our waitress was attentive, checked us often but it also felt rushed as she presented us a cheque immediately after we finished eating, didn’t even ask if we are interested in anything else. Which we were. The highlight was that they checked if we had any dietary/food allergies. So, overall experience was okay

Came in for a quick drink and a snack. Was not able to stay long but it looks like a fun place if you're into a more country vibe. Anywhere that has decent loaded fries is ok in my book.

Bartender introduced me to a Chicago handshake. Friendly people. It was a fun bar to visit.

While Bub city is a go too in the city. There are better places popping up. The Nashville chicken was good, however, the drink could have been better. The waffle fries were crisp. My daughter had ribs which she loved. The fried pickles were a hit.

What an amazing place! We had the ribs, brisket which just melted in the mouth and the burger was amazing, fried pickle and atomic fries absolutely stunning food! Staff were friendly and service was decent.

Spacious restaurant in the river north area. Great service and delicious food. Average prices. Pretty authentic bbq.

Great place, delicious food and drinks, and the best server we've ever had. This is both mine and my wife's favorite place ever. We shared brisket, ribs, salmon... all kinds of stuff. All I can say was we loved this place and are planning on returning with our best friends asap.

Solid place! Their food was very good. We ordered their brisket, Mac and cheese, and Brussels sprouts. All were delicious! The Mac and cheese is to die for. They had happy hour drinks starting at 3 so we got a $6.50 cocktail that was strong and good.

Nice western chill bar for bothe food and drinks and for families. There was a DJ playing great variety of songs and they have live bands. Turns 21 and above after 9pm if I'm not mistaken. You should visit this gem!
