Today I got to enjoy a very delicious burger at Potter’s inside of the Palmer house hotel. I pulled a seat up to the bar and had missed the lunch rush. New to the Potter Burger game I asked for suggestions and Nikki the bar tender did not disappoint. She suggested the Lakeview which had bacon, peppanew aioli and fried cheese curds on it. Partnered up with some house chips I was good to go. As I waited on my order and drank in the rich history of Potters. Fun fact, the Brownie was actually invented right here at the Palmer house by none other than Potter Palmer. The burger came out looking awesome. A quick slice down the middle and I was ready to attack my taste buds by its beauty. And it delivered a powerful blow. Everything hit at once and it was insane. I gobbled it up quicker than I noticed the Nikki’s shirt matched the burger skirt paper and picnic blankets. I needed something sweet now and the one thing that popped out the most was the Milkshakes. A chocolate to go and I was ready for the second round fight with my taste buds. My only complaint is that I wish the shake was a bit bigger. For $5 I was wanting to experience it a bit longer than just a few gulps. Overall had a phenomenal time at Potter’s. Also I do believe Nikki deserves a raise because her shirt also matches the straws in the milkshakes.

Nice hotel bar food but as of October 29 the listed hours were wrong. Talked with the bar staff while downing my food. They just reopened post covid two weeks ago and their actual hours are Wednesday to Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m..

VERY disappointed. Being located in an establishment like The Palmer House I expected a far better quality of service. I popped in to order food to take back to my room. It was about 4:45 Saturday evening and I was staying for 1 night as a gift to myself for spending the week decorating for Christmas. I did not desire to be in a crowded loud bar eating a burger and rings. When I sat down at the bar to place my order my plan was to buy a glass of wine while i waited for my food. The bartender was NOT at all friendly. At all. He said "you can order but you're gonna be waiting for all these other people to get their food." Which I took as "because your not eating here and drinking our booze I won't be making a tip so you're gonna be waiting for your food." I paid cash, gave him a small tip for the time it took him to.punch in the order and told him I would be back at 5:30. I did not stay to have a glass of wine. Why would I with the attitude. When I came back at 530 the food was bagged and ready. It was cold when I ate it. It was not bad as far as flavor goes. I am sure hot would have tasted better. I truly think the staff needs to be reminded that some of the people eating their food may not WANT to be in a loud crowded environment. That this isn't a patrons first time in a restaurant and that they may get better tips if they weren't such jerks. I assure you this is not where I will eat on my next visit to the Palmer. And I would tell anyone who asked the same thing. The cold food and cold shoulder did not make this experience a good one.

Im giving one star because : the fries were burnt and incredibly dry, the rude waitress made us pay for food we didn’t eat after we asked her to take it off the bill, and the waitress took forever with the bill we were waiting for a least 30 minutes jus to check out ! The only thing good about this place was the burger .

Save your money... go order at the lobby bar. Better staff, same food. The bartender here really needs more training. Spilled my drink. I explained I've been at the hotel 4 days and had the burger at the bar twice. Asked to recommend something.. he recommend and gave me the EXACT burger I've had twice at the lobby bar. Laughed when it arrived and I explained my distaste for what happened. Didn't offer to change it. Just walked away. Had to ask for a coke from another person as he ignored me after that. Never refilled my soda again either... High end lounge decor, menus that look like kids menus out of a Denny's. Enough said.

The vibe is nice, my complaint is about why I had to ñoooo pay almost $50 for 2 miserable drinks. Sure, is downtown, Palmer house blah blah blah, but hey, just because of that you could at least make me a Manhattan with better quality ingredients. You charged this absurd amount of money to put three cake cherries in my drink. If you gonna charge that, have some decency and use maraschino cherries at least. I felt this bar insults its clients’ intelligence and that’s why I’m not going back. If that’s what you ‘re still planning to do … I hope you go down.

Was looking for a place to eat that was in walking distance, and this little jewel popped up. Burgers were great. Fries were great. Forgot to try the Brownie cheesecake. Maybe on the next visit.

Not actually open, so I cannot give a good review of it. But, I think the last time I checked was about a month ago. I was just visiting the bar area of the Palmer House for five minutes, since they had a musician.

Great burger, bar, and atmosphere all at a reasonable price. Highly recommend the #3

Restaurant recently reopened after COVID and the menu is very limited. We ordered two burgers, pulled pork and onion rings along with Cajun fries. Burgers were light pink meat. Cajun fries were really good! Burgers were dripping in grease causing the bottom bun to be soggy. Overall, bland burger and overpriced. A soda / fountain drink was $4.50 each. The menus on the Google site are outdated and pre COVID. Additionally, the menu on their website is also outdated. The new menu is two sided and was recently posted by a reviewer which we overlooked. Bill was over $90, food was definitely not worth the price. Location is nice and clean which was a plus.

The Potter Palmer Burger was absolutely amazing. It was definitely in the best of the best burgers 🍔 I've ever had.

For all the accolades and history, this place was underwhelming. The menu was cut to about 10 items instead of their regular menu that had been posted on the Google menu. Food was okay. Definitely did not live up to its fame and notoriety. Was extremely disappointed.

MY BURGER WAS BLACK. the only good thing about this place is how it looks. i went to get food there because it was right in the hotel i was staying at. i went there around 3:45 and the lady at the front was EXTREMELY rude. she said there’s no food till 4. i understood and we came back at 4:45. once we got there again she said it was a 10 minute wait, which was fine. till she said “so are you eating or not”. obviously if we came back we’re eating here… after we waiting 10 minutes we came back and she looked at us expecting us to know we had to follow here. we followed her to the table and then sat down. we wants to get food to go because we were already on a time crunch. we ordered two burgers and fries. i took the food back to my room after waiting a bit, i opened it to find MY BURGER WAS BLACK and i didn’t get any fries. very disappointed that a place this nice has such a bad restaurant with bad customer service

My first issue: we asked for water since we don't drink pop very often. We were given small plastic cups over filled with ice and very little water. Wouldn't have been a problem if anyone would have come to ask us if we needed a refill the entire 45 minutes we were there. Second issue: I paid $17 apiece for 2 extremely greasy, mediocre burgers, which again, wouldn't have been a huge issue, if there was a damn side. No fries, no chips, not even a "hi, how you doin." My son wanted wings, and 6 wings for 15 dollars is extremely over priced. Overall extremely bad experience

Long wait time the beer I ordered tasted old and my wife and I both ordered burgers neither was cooked properly but rather than send them back and wait 30 minutes for their replacement we just ate them. Also very expensive...with so many options near by they need to step up their game

Sadly it was closed the entire time. Only the lobby bar (Lockwoods) was open

I had dinner with a friend and got the mushroom burger on a pretzel roll. The burger was delicious but drowning in grease. I got onion rings too and they were great. Nice atmosphere and our service was fantastic.

Located within the Palmer House on the lobby level. Smaller menu. Burgers are a bit pricey, but the #3 I had was outstanding; juicy and flavorful. Need to order sides (fries, cheese curds, etc.) separately, if you want more than just the burger. There are a few TVs scattered around if you're looking to watch a game. Draft beer cost is also slightly higher than average in the area.

Good atmosphere. Had a great server, Allison. She took excellent care of us. My party of 5 all had different brugers and we all enjoyed them. Open 24 hours!

I wolfed down my turkey burger and fries. Soooo good. Then I went straight to the brownie wish there was less nuts. But these cheese curds are for later. Omg

I can’t say 100% that it was my meal but I was vomiting up avocado and burger all night. Service was fast but flaky. My fries were amazing. That’s why they got 2 stars from me!

  • 4/5 Vicki S. 2 years ago on Google
I give this neighborhood grill joint a solid 4 STARS. I would give it 5 stars but the condiment bar didn't do it for me, had some duplicates and not enough veggies for me. The sauce choices are fine.

We went in search of a great burger and turned to Google. Potter's was often recommended so we thought we would check it out. While I knew that it wasn't the cleanest place in town from the reviews, I thought they would have at least washed the tables or something. The food was just ok. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else. Try Mojo burger :)

I gave it a three because the waiter was not very friendly. It took a while to get the table cleaned. A friend I was with order bacon on her burger but it never came. However the food was wonderful!! We all had burgers and they were really great. We also tried the fries and a flight of dipping sauce. Really great.

Food was pricey, quality was good. Burger was nothing great, but did like the onion rings. Kids sliders are a decent size for kids.

Very comfortable seating, lots of big tvs, basic burger menu, milk shakes, beer and cocktails. The fries are great.

We came for cocktails and desserts, and we weren't disappointed. Boozy cherry walnut milkshake was delicious. Service was friendly and fast. The Palmer House Brownie is one of the best I've ever had and comes topped with cherry walnut ice cream. Delicious!
