Well worth your wait. Breakfast all day and the food and drinks were amazing. Very kid friendly and accommodating for kids as they have kid's menu and provide high chairs. Their blood Mary was something I wanted to try and their mix was very tasty. I wish I could have had more of it. Their food was delicious and the kids menu came with apple sauce and fries. If you are in the area and want diner food or just want some good breakfast this is the place to go. Deserts were also worth getting, so big and we just split it amongst the table. Our waiter was on top of it as well. Good job to the wait staff there.

This diner is such a cool place to eat. The staff is the hardest working group I've witnessed in a long time. We sat at the bar and were treated like honored guests by Felipe. I suspect he treats all his customers that way. He was warm and friendly and never missed a beat providing for all of us seated at the bar even while mixing drinks for the restaurant seated guests. 10/10 highly recommend and we will definitely visit again.

Great place to eat! The service was awesome from all the staff. Fun and friendly environment. We had our 8 month and they accommodated us perfectly with the highchair and a table big enough for all of us. Following covid protocols with masks and gloves. The food was ao delicious! Home brewed root beer was tasty. I also had the pastrami hash bowl, would recommend!!

Solid diner spot in Chicago. Very spacious, but a little bit of a wait time before being seated. The staff is friendly and the service is great. Plenty of food and beverage options. We sat at the bar and that wad perhaps a great experience - mingling w the staff, experiencing how busy this place gets and being able to dine casual without any fuss. The bloody mary’s are a popular must and the root beers. There is catering options by the entrance and a separate candy shop. This place had an old school diner feel but clean and modern. The food btw is DELICIOUS.

Quality food, great staff, beautiful decor, and that jazz! Visited 5+ times, and the experience has been consistently good. It does get busy during rush hours so plan accordingly!

This place was amazing! We went 4 times out of a weeks stay in Chicago. Every single thing we got was delicious. Burgers tasty and perfectly seasoned, fruit fresh and sweet, I recommend the challah French toast, the pastrami sandwich, and the macaroni were so good and the portions are huge! Staff were so nice and the owner as well. Cool place for sure, try the in house made rootbeer you won't regret it.

This diner is hands down amazing, they were trying to go for a family style atmosphere and they 1000% knocked it out of the park. They have a pretty long list of items on the menu so I guarantee pretty much anyone will find something they will like. The staff and management are amazing and will make you feel right at home. The manager I had a small chat with as I was leaving had absolutely fostered an amazing atmosphere, and I will absolutely be making special return trips, just to visit and grab a bite. Thank you all at Eleven City for an such amazing experience. See you again soon!

Such an awesome place. Loved the atmosphere, the music, everything. Staff was super nice and friendly. Everything was done in timely manner. Food was super delicious. And great hot chocolate! Coffee was very rich in flavor.

The atmosphere is nostalgic and 50's throwback. The staff is friendly and caring. They serve breakfast all day. They have mimosas. You can buy vintage candy. You can buy deli food. They try their best to help and accommodate your party. The appetizers are really good. The food is great. It is not on the lower price end.

Excellent brunch meal was had recently at this location. The portions are extremely large and most items can be shared by 2 guest. The service is what I would consider average at best meaning they don’t voluntarily give refills of coffee without asking The prices are decent given the quality and quantity of food you are served I highly recommend the French Toast, House Potatoes and Monte Cristo

Been to so many countries and countless brunches but this one stands out! We were visiting from Canada for the long weekend and found this page though google- 35min wait and got seated at the bar and when we saw a table empty asked if we could be seated there instead. The first waitress declined but the owner (?) Got back to us and made us an exception and promptly got us seated there with probably the best welcome of modern times. Being from Canada, I know a polite person when I see one but man this place is beyond expectations. The place is bustling and BUSY yet the servers and owners have the biggest smile in their faces and are just proud to be a part of the best diner institution there is! Food was great but I’ll be back in a heartbeat to just to sit there and enjoy the vibe! Most definitely my best brunch experience in USA and I’m close to having visited all 50 states :)

I've been eating here since they opened. Good, consistent food. Love the rueben, pastrami and really any of their beefs sandwiches. They do a lot in house and the meat is good quality. Also, their award-winning Bloody Mary with Grey Goose is definitely top 5 in the city.

Eleven City Diner is a fantastic breakfast and lunch spot. I created my own omelette today and the eggs were incredibly fluffy! My friend got the corned beef and pastrami hash bowl and she said it was amazing! They smoke their own meats on site. It was hard to turn down a piece of homemade carrot cake. Highly recommend.

How can they serve you this much food at this price and it be this good? I ordered Rito’s plate and it came with enough to feed a small family for multiple meals and cost me less than I would spend at a Cracker Barrel. The economics of it don’t make sense but I’m glad it exists. I particularly recommend anything that includes the crispy house potatoes.

This is a five star experience with a price to match it. But it is a diner. Get the fries, get like two orders, they are amazing. The corn beef was piled pretty high, the soup was home made, but for a family of four we spent 100 dollars not including tip. And don’t show up Sunday at 11. It is a Mad House.

I don’t usually give 5 star reviews for restaurants, but the food I had here was DELICIOUS!! I had the pastrami burger with egg and loved it! The bun was good, they had quality lettuce (unlike iceberg at so many places), and the meat was very flavorful. Carry out was easy and in recyclable packaging. I’ll definitely be going back!

From UK, I'm staying in Chicago this week and this was my favourite place to eat lunch by a large margin. Great selection of delicious food, home made root beer, good service and atmosphere. Probably the best bloody Mary I've had. Classic American diner, but way better than others I've been to.

Came here for a late breakfast early lunch. We had the Ruben sandwich with fries and a root beer. The Ruben sandwich was excellent, the fries seasoned and delicious. The root beer was fairly standard and a tad too sweet but good. We sat at the bar to save time waiting for a table and service was great. The atmosphere is welcoming and busy. Very nice experience. Recommended.

I love everything about this place. The people are great as is the atmosphere. The food is superb. It is not cheap, but well worth the quality and large portions. I had breakfast there twice in my few days in Chicago. I enjoyed large, fluffy omelets with tasty potatoes. My wife had wonderful challah French toast. Some day I must go back for lunch.

Incredible breakfast! I had the chorizo scramble and my husband had the bacon and egg sandwich and both were delightful. Their coffee is great too. We tried to go later during our visit for lunch but their hours are tricky.

The food was so good the first day we tried it, we came back the next day! It is so busy but it is well worth the wait. And all week I have been wanting to go back. Superb. It’s crowded at the bar but what do you expect when the food is so dang good!

Leather booths, porcelain white brick, and neon red signs house the organized chaos that is Eleven City Diner. Their food is exactly what you expect: nostalgic, comforting, and downright delicious. Upon entering Eleven, I ravenously ordered what would turn out to be one of the best bagels of my young life: a sesame bagel with lox cream cheese. They nailed it with a well-balanced ratio of creamy, fatty deliciousness to perfectly toasted bagel. The table service also featured top of the line classics: a loaded Moshe Cristo, perfectly crisped fries, and a Vegan Reuben that left nothing to be desired. The food was complemented by service that can only be characterized as a non-stop, award-winning performance. The staff seamlessly filtered through a revolving door of guests, prevented the tight space from feeling overwhelming, and managed to serve an ungodly number of tables with ease. The experience was akin to the stressful but loving feeling of being at home; you know what you’re getting, you’re well taken care of, and at the end of it all you’re immensely satisfied.

First of all, I’m super lame and a straight up cornball so the fact that I enjoyed this themed restaurant is not surprising. Old Chicago. There is not a storage of selfie backdrops. Second, not sure how I missed this gem which apparently has been around for 17 years! But when you know better you do better so … now I know Third, on top of all that, the food is good. The service, even better. I think the staff enjoy the venue as much as the patrons! This is my new must-take-visitors for breakfast spot. Enjoy!

Everything was absolutely fantastic! French toast, fries, and corned beef. Biggest downside is you can only eat so much if I had room for more I'd have ordered more. Ordered the 43 sandwich which seems to have everything on it at once 🤩

Incredible Jewish deli taking cues from the classics in New York and Newark with expansive traditional menu of deli favorites made with care and high quality. Matzoh ball soup, pastrami sandwiches, egg creams - all the usual suspects. No pickled tomatoes but you can’t have everything! Portions are huge and service is expert and quick. The owner helps seat hungry waiting folks quicky with personality and good humor. Candy everywhere especially for the kids. A full bar for the older kids at heart. Wonderful place anyone would feel welcome in. Please come hungry!

Amazing food and service from the ownership and the staff!!! We had a late comer arrive at our table when we had no additional room to be seated at our table, and they were nice enough to move us to a bigger booth with no problem. The pancakes are tremendously big and good. I got the RITO's Plate with pancakes which was very good. The portion sizes for their food are the biggest that I have seen for a breakfast diner. I reccomend parking next door to the restaurant which cost 7.00 for 2 hours of parking and cost 11.00 for 6 hours of parking; however keep your receipt in the window of your car. I definitely will be coming back to try additional items on the menu.

Eleven City Diner is a superb breakfast / brunch spot in the Chicago area! It was recommended by staff at the hotel I was staying at in Chicago, and did not disappoint. Last Thursday, I rushed to come here for brunch, and took an Uber here because I am just visiting the Chicago area. I walked in and ordered table for one, and got bar seating immediately. I immediately enjoyed the casual, laid-back atmosphere around me and snapped some photos to capture the moment. I asked the waiter for popular items, and 11 City French Toast (FT) was mentioned. Rita's Plate appealed to me because it had eggs, meat, and potatoes, but also came with the FT. Waiter said FT is better with 11 City toppings -- strawberries and bananas that is. I said why not, let's go for it. While we were waiting, I saw a keg of root beer (RB) and saw that 11 City is known for its authentic, bottomless RB. I said why not, and called the waiter over and ordered that for my drink. The wait time was not egregious, but it was somewhat long. I was presented with the Rita's Plate at long last, which came with what looked like ham, scrambled eggs with fresh avocado, and potato wedges. On the second plate there was powdered FT, and since this was 11 city style, came with strawberries and bananas. All the food was pretty spot on. I enjoyed ham, egg, and potatoes plate but it was not a home run. Still flavorful and enjoyable. The FT was amazing, probably one of best FT I've tried at a brunch spot before. Flavorful and with the strawberries and bananas it added lot of natural sugar to it. If getting toppings, I would advise against using too much of the maple syrup; in this case it is already sweet enough with the powder and fruit, and maybe conservative quantities of syrup is called for. As well, if you order anything else sugary like root beer as a drink, you most certainly don't want to get an overload of sugar for breakfast, so I would advise again limited quantities of maple syrup or skipping it altogether. I will say, there was a few mishaps and delays in my order, such as the bartender forgetting I had ordered RB so I had to remind him, and it only arrived much after my main dish. But it's not a deal breaker, and I understand that folks can be busy here. As for the RB, the drink was a bit sugary but I missed root beer as I haven’t had it for the longest time, it was good to try authentic fresh RB once again and best is they offer free refills, so I got one and finished half of the other (as I said, bit too sugary for me!) All in all, this is a spot-on breakfast or brunch spot if one is visiting Chicago, and cannot go wrong with 11 City Diner. I will recommend, and my suggestion will be to ask for popular items and/or toppings, and then adjust or add substitutes -- as I have for the FT -- accordingly, based on best judgement or preference. I enjoyed this spot and will likely be back once I find myself in the Chicago area again. Definitely check it out!

Love the atmosphere in this place. The moment I walked in, I felt like I was in a deli type restaurant in New York. It took me back in time! It was busy, but I didn't mind as I looked at the candy shop and reminisced about the old days going to the corner store with all the classic sweets on display. We got seats at the bar and loved it! I had the Mexican scramble, and it was not as tasty as I had hoped, but I was so much more focused on the experience that I still enjoyed it. Even got a shake to go!

For a diner, this place gets 5 stars. We look forward to having lunch here whenever we are in Chicago. The smoked brisket sandwich is great and the omelettes are delicious. We’ve had burgers, tuna salad, cakes, etc. and have not been disappointed. This is a place where locals eat, and we love the vibe.

Great reto style diner that serves breakfast all day. Pleasant staff and a buzzing atmosphere when I arrived. Had a Ruben and grape float both of which were delicious. There's also a deli and sweet counter at the front.

Eleven City Done was recommended to me by Nono at the Chicago Hilton. I got the Breakfast Bagel with avocado, delicious. I was somewhat envious of my travel companion's meal of French toast with bananas and pecans. The atmosphere was interesting and the selections went from a functional soda fountain for milkshakes to a bar stocked with local beers and liquor plus a frozen lemonade slushy with vodka. I enjoyed my food, opting for OJ to drink (it was breakfast after all). I'd be glad to return and would recommend it to others!

I love visiting different Diners as i travel for work, each one has a different story, atmosphere, and associates. 11 City is definitely made it’s way to my top 10 favorite. Atmosphere is wonderful, very tasteful upbeat music, staff is very attentive, and professional. Now on to the food, their French Toast is my top 5 favorite, i couldn’t finish the insanely big portions and the Mexican scramble, was a explosion of flavor in each bite.

Great atmosphere and food. Unfortunately the waiter said the only way to see the menu was through QR code and since they don’t have Wi-Fi and I didn’t have a SIM card as a tourist, I had to guess what to order. The problem is that table next to us got a printed menu somehow.

One of the best brunch spots in Chicago. It transports you to a 1950's era Brooklyn Jewish Deli. Dynamite food, attentive staff, great ambiance, and deep menu. Serving sizes are large. From the Tom Waits 2am Breakfast that is a super-sized breakfast sampler platter. Corned beef sandwiches massive and delicious. Bloody Mary is the best in town. No exaggeration, best in town--lots of toppings and a good mix. Desserts are amazing; nice touch placing the cake platters at the bar. A top 5 must-visit restaurant destination while in Chicago.

Very cool atmosphere with so many good menu options. The service was friendly and quick and the food was really good. Eleven City Diner is just that a diner, not a deli. Yeah sure they have Kosher-style sandwich and they are pretty good. It is clear that the owner knows his stuff. They also have lunch and dinner platters. Since I am a Yid from the lower East side I will speak about the deli stuff. The meat is very good so by default the sandwiches are good. If you have never had it try the kreplach. Overall an enjoyable experience.

Corned beef was good but not like a Cleveland corned beef sandwich! And it was high as hell. $16 for a corned beef yikes but the fries were delicious. Definitely the best corned beef I've had since moving to Chicago....

Wow that was a great breakfast. I got the corned beef and pastrami hash bowl. I was shocked when it came out because it was a huge bowl of food. The potatoes were to die for and the eggs were cooked perfectly. The corned beef and pastrami were mixed together so you were unable to tell the difference between the two. I am so glad that we decided to get breakfast here.

Absolutely delicious. I am in an eternal food coma! I ordered delivery from this place today through UberEats and everything was spot-on. I really like how many different menu options this place has because I was not really sure what to even get for lunch today until I saw how much of a variety this place had to offer. Great for picky and indecisive eaters like myself. I cannot wait to order from here again! I hope they will do a Thanksgiving themed sandwich maybe sometime with cranberry relish/cranberry mayo, stuffing and gravy on it in addition to the carved turkey as a hot sandwich!

God awful and deceptive. Told my party of 2 people on Saturday morning we would have a 25 minute wait. Waited for 1 hour and 10 minutes. Then proceeded to watch them tell everyone else waiting in line (behind us) that they would also have a 25 minute wait. Regardless of what they say they cannot predict they can certainly predict how many tables they have in front of you. No excuse for that. Food is expensive as well. Complete lack of respect for the time of their entire customer base. Flies all over the dining room. We could have eaten anywhere else in the time we waited but they wanted us to stick around so that we could pay for their overpriced food. Avoid whenever possible, save your happiness!

Always enjoy the classic fun atmosphere of a whimsical 1950's Chicago time capsule. The food is fantastic; it is traditional deli food with some modern twists. Also, love the mixed sodas and malts; I strongly recommend asking for a spiked malt. The service and staff are helpful and friendly. Love coming here, and it's the best deli in Chicago wish there were more like this around the city.
